For such a massive crowd, the fandom was EXTRA but in a good way. Enjoyed every bit of the 2.5 hrs. even though I was on my feet the entire time.

About the only thing I enjoy more than watching a newer reactor discover BTS is watching a reactor bring in a friend who’s about to be run down by the BTS awesome sauce.
Oh and speaking of sauce...YES. Korean food is AWESOME. Take heart on the language. The longer you listen to Kpop, the more your ear will pick up familiar words. Once you look up the translation and sort out how to pronounce it, you’ll start hearing it everywhere. Learning Hangul (the characters) is easy. Learning the language, on the other hand... Kudos to your coworker who’s working on it!

I like this vid of yours (so far) the best, because you address what I was the most curious about when my daughter introduced me to BTS. Technically I introduced *her* to K-pop a few years ago when I stumbled upon a really cute Crayon Pop video and we watched a bunch of stuff by them. But she found other K-pop groups all on her own, and BTS became her favorite.
So, as an involved mom, I did research to be sure if they were as wholesome as most K-pop was, and they are. After I learned their faces, I got to know their back story, which was amazing. Then I wanted to know why THEY were the ones to make it internationally, when so many before had tried and failed. It's a multi-layered answer, but a partial list of reasons "why" is their drive, talent, humble beginnings, timing as far as social media and working that medium expertly, and their unique message and style are what brought them to places no other SK band has ever been to.
Anyway, keep spreading the K-pop/BTS love to all whom you know. They really are an amazing group, and our household is almost always playing their music in the background...aaand, we're trying to learn Korean so we can be less reliant on subtitles. So. Hard. To. Learn...

Try learning Korean is like trying to learn driving without a car. I've been into kpop for ten years and kdramas, movies, variety shows and have korean friends and w/ ALL THAT, I still only know about 40 Korean words that would make zero sense if I would try roping them into a sentence. And FORGET Hangul.

Thank you so much for your reaction. I love their dance practices BANGTANTV is their channel that has a lot of their content (not all of it though).... they have a dance practice playlist.... I love watching the practice first and seeing the choreo clearly so I can be amazed and then watch the video so that I can then enjoy the cinematography and production of it all. They are so much deeper than people realize though and am glad you recognize that. Don't know if you've seen or not but they were invited to present one of the awards at this year's Grammy's.... ARMY is so freaking excited! Suga always said he wanted to go see the Grammy's. Getting his wish. #BTSxGrammys

Kpop really put our pop or pop groups to SHAME. I had never seen anything as spectacular as BTS or any other kpop group. The whole genre, the whole background of everything, its just amazing. Because I was in so many american fandoms so imma fangirl at HEART, I recently left my old fandom cuz it was TOXICCCCCC and like BTS changed my whole life. I'm back to being my fangirl self and being involved in a little part of the world and also back to listening to good music yyykkkkkk. As of now, the only american artist I fw is bryson tiller. He's my favorite. I love him so much, his music is life. Second I'd probably say Chris brown. As of female, I'd say cardi b. I been a fan of her since 2015. But yeah that's abt it, kpop/BTS filled the gap for me sksbsmw 💜💜

actually you should really learn korean. Im learning korean right now and its pretty easy and its hard im not going to lie but i fairly enjoy it. but its one of the easier languages to learn i think you do it. and there are so many resourse out there that will helo you. korean drama music lyrics, talk to me in korean, egg bun, and so much more youtube as well.
