That hay looks good. Been missing the showers and rains up here so it’s only an average hay crop which is way better than last year though. But really need a rain to fill out the grain and keep the pastures growing.

@@AlbertaRanch yeah, sorghum is averaging 1 bale an acre. I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the right crop. I never had to bale it or feed it etc. It's supposed to get as tall as corn and it's not. (Boss hay)
My Bermuda ain't doing nothing. It's dead and I'm baling just to survive. I think I mention the acres and yeild. It's like 7 acres 1 bale.. last year I was able to get 7 bales off an acre. My property soil test is claiming 7 tons an acre. I'll believe it when I see it 🤣 and can afford a big enough bailer.
Honestly the only thing keep me going this year is my job.

Looking at your soil test, it appears that we have similar soils. Our soil is also high in natural K. Years ago, a nutritionist/agronomist told us that this is a concern in regards to the forages it produces for livestock. Per his recommendations, we have added Ca in numerous ways to correct the imbalance (lime on soils, supplemental Ca in our feed rations, and high Ca mineral for the cattle). I firmly believe that through time this is the best management decision we have ever made! Haven't tested for moisture and not going too LOLOLO!! That's exactly what was happening with my oat straw ;) sometimes you just gotta put your head done like a cow in a storm ;) Several times I have baled the unraked swaths and got along OK. It is usually quite surprising how well they dry...

Here in Oklahoma were in a drought. My wheat crop had only 2 inches of rain on it and produce 12 bushels an acre (the hole time it was growing)
I started bailing hay last week and ouch. I'm getting a bale off 7 aces.. last year I was able to get 3 bales an acre and each weighing 1750 on average. 😑
Last year at work I was driving a semi 66 trips 250 miles hauling hay. I think we're hauling around 150 semi loads this year.
