NEW work at Bridgnorth, WITHDRAWN steam locos ,4930 Hagley Hall in service. Severn Valley Rly.9/3/24

- A visit to the Severn valley railway. 4940 Hagley Hall is seen working the steam service on the day, with a ride along the line.
Also a shot of the work being done in the yard at Bridgnorth, raising and renewing the track and the pitwork.
Only 7812 Earlestoke Manor in the yard with an 08,, but the sad sight of withdrawn steam locos, stored out of the way at the end of the line awaiting,and hoping for an overhaul.

7812 along with 7714 are both going over to the bluebell railway for the branch line weekend in may

Erlestoke Manor is having work done on it’s tender and 7714 is out for its monthly boiler washout, it’s got nothing to do with track upgrading.

Nice shots of Hagley Hall very atmospheric but lacking various things, such as which station was the train leaving 20 minutes into the video, all it would have taken is a shot of the station name on the platform while passing. Or a clip of the train while going over the lovely Victoria Bridge looking down onto the River Severn would have also been nice.... Maybe next time !
Thanks for the comment Roger. Yes , you are right. I just took it for granted, that everyone would know? It was Arley. As for the clip going over The Victoria Bridge, yes,I have done that on many occasions, just thought I would be different this time, but it didn't turn out as planned
Phil, Thank you for your reply. My father many many years ago told me "never take anything for granted" Bless him ! So I'd like to pass on his words of wisdom to you, and always treat each of your productions as a 'first' and you won't go far wrong in holding the viewer's interest. Also bare in mind at a heritage railway there is more than the trains and locomotives, such as lovely station architecture and line-side structures, go inside a waiting room you might be surprised by such things as posters and fireplaces ! So don't just video a train going along, do some planning and add some more things of interest. Please accept that this comment is by no means criticism as the video is good but view it hopefully as being helpful. Roger. @@philclarke3203
Flying Pig & 1501 need to be done, they’re SVR signature locos! Hope they don’t get held up for too long & overhauls start soon.
Flying Pig won't be overhauled, due to lack of funding. 1501 is still in fine fettle, so she'll be seen again.
No new overhauls until current jobs are completed, 813, 4150, 4150, 82045 and Dunrobin. 1501 needs a 10 year overhaul and 43106 ownership is being sorted, a case then of people putting money in to its eventual overhaul. All of us on Bridgnorth MPD want to see 43106 run again.
What about 2857

@@amandahambidge7994can only do so much ( great) work at once, and even then, the money needs to be there, plus there is only the need for so many locos at any one time .
Do you drive trains for the Severn Valley Railway? You are very lucky if you do!! I used to be a porter at the Epping Ongar Railway.

Don't worry your wee head about that. Erlestoke Manor and 7714 will be in steam again. They have only been stopped temporarily, till track upgrading has been completed. When all is over and done with, there'll be more steam action to enjoy. You see if it doesn't happen.
I'm not worried. As @amandahambridge7994 says, nothing to do with the track
