It is very interesting that the low bandwidth did not completely disable the setup. The bigger issue is that the platform that is limited to pcie1 will be a 10fps cpu. Cool video 👍

      PCIe 1.1 x16 is approximately equal to PCIe 4.0 x2 or PCIe 3.0 x4.
I plan to do such tests with 4K.
But there will also be video with 1080p. They have just been ready for a long time)

It's good tester for like say idk maybe trying to egpu thru ae key m2 slot hahaha can't Remember bandwidth but I've seen it done with 2080 super n oculink on a nuc6 rofl

@@alancarr195 4x pcie 5 would actually work for mid range gpus. If the GPU was pcie 5

@@christophermullins7163 oh for sure, I think ae key only gets like 1-2 lanes tho(was wireless card adapter they wanted to experiment with they even have express card slot ones ), it was older nuc that didn't have nvme slot and was just friend messing around with it. But yeah x4 on 4.0 or 5.0 rly isn't big hit on the mid range cards at all, Def viable for turning laptop or mini pc into gaming rig without a steep tax in performance, especially with some the stuff can buy now, oculink adapters they sell for like under 20$ can allow you to put oculink port on side of a laptop or mini pc with dremel and using m2 slot. Or even just the support for thunderbolt 4 and oculink stock growing so much more

@@alancarr195 we are the same. I am always solving problems with custom solutions lol like.. anyone can solve problems with money but doing it with zero money is way better and less ewaste. Some of my first diy pc engineering was using fans and heatsinks from random old servers to provide high end cooling for free(it may have been loud but i never cared) lol and doing desktop cooling on laptops and stuff. Built a few pcs from wood with glue and dremel. The good old days. Right now i have my 5600x 4070 ti build in a pc case from 2008. it is busted up and missing stuff but the air flow is great and i just would rather upgrade ram or cpu or something than buy a decent case lmao screw rgb. its slows you down
