In a T9 Ranked or CB season, its invaluable. and since it was removed from sale, its really rare too, especially since a lot of people passed over it due to already having Yamato. the auction event made it clear that Musashi is really valuable.

By the time the class of ships entered combat, Japanese carrier power was nonexistent, and escorts were severely lacking. In ww1, the Yamato class would destroy everything in sight, but by ww2, it was just obsolete

Tbh here, many people agree that Missouri is quite OP for a Prem ship. While she's very similar to Iowa, that Radar, men, it's something else. Many DD and Cruiser had died due to being caught of guard by Mo Radar while hiding in smoke. Just so you know, when people heard that tier 9 and 10 RN BB will have radar, they are very, very angry. ;)
Missouri used to be a Gudbote before the citadel change. When Missouri was released, her citadel weakness was a balancing factor, making it risky to push into caps. Now that the citadel has been changed, Missouri has no great weaknesses.

Why not "buy" the Musashi? It's a free ship after all, same as Missouri (which I already have) and Nelson (next on my list, coming soon). I didn't spend a dime on any of these, I just don't trow away my free XP on skipping grinds.
