I’ve been watching this video on how to propagate my photos since last year, i cant thank you enough coz my photos are thriving well, from one small pot i got now so many pots big and small and giving away some too as a gift on various occasions . I can watch over and over on you deliver precisely your knowledge . Love you swedish plant guy., watching from Arkansas USA
Very informative this and the All you need to know about Pothos videos. My dad gave me a portion of the Pothos that my parents got when I was born 40 + years ago. I have a Marble Queen, I found this out by watching your videos. Now I know why there is only one leaf with white varigations and the plant is leggy. I will be able to prune with out fear of hurting my plant and how to clean the leaves too. :) Thank you!
I know I'm late to the party... I've been using one node. I didn't want to kill off so many leaves. I am going to try propagating with two nodes to see if it roots any faster. 🤗 Thanks for the info!
Wow, this channel helped me a lot! And the extra tip on the last part of the video is my favorite! Now i know how to make my future pothos to look fuller and lush🥰 thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. I had a pothos that had very long vine and did what you showed on this video. Now I just have to wsit and see how it does. Joping I fid good. Blessings 🙏
Thank you for your wonderful advice about Pothos, I do have one and it is a gift and she called it n' joy Pothos, I will try your 3rd option. I hope I make a lot of new n' joy Pothos, I already have air roots.
I wished I had know about the transitional issues of cuttings from water to soil. It's so true. I put 5 cuttings with roots in soil a month ago and only 1 succeeded in growing new leaves.
I love your videos: very educational, professional and among all helpful (also for inexperienced plants carer as I am 🙂). Could you give any recommendations if there is any rule about the timing for the cuttings? Or it does not matter when the cuttings are done?
Interesting!! I usually only do one node per cut for my pothos cuttings and keep the leaf on. Is there a reason you don’t do it that way? I have 99.9% root success in water with only one node, but curious your reasoning :) thank you!
Same here. I don't like to kill off leaves if I don't have to. I love this channel and I'm sure there's a good reason he does it this way. Maybe the success rate is higher. Personally I haven't had a problem using one node. Plus I end up having a fuller plant.
@@JosBeeReads I wondered this too as I use one node per cutting. I think doing it this way might make potting them up a little easier as they would be able to stand upright.
Thank you so much for your informative videos with the charming host 🙏😍🙏 Could your "close-ups" (of plants and plant parts, soil, pumice, etc.) be closer, really zoomed in for better detail? I've enjoyed so many of your videos and have been meaning ask that! 🤓
Very well explained. Just wanted to if the same method can be applied to Raphidophora tetrasperma for soil propagation with two nodes one going into the soil?
35 days in into my pothos propagation after seeing this video, I managed to get proper roots (over 4cm) on 5 out of 6 cuttings. The 6th one didn't wilt, but it didn't root at all either. I propagated them in lechuza pon - some in the fertilized pon, some in the unfertilized one, but didn't notice any significant difference, probably because it is a slow release fertilizer. I put 2 cuttings per one mini deltini pot. Wasn't sure how to water in the beginning, so kept it very moist and had some problems with a bit of mould on the surface. After I figured out how often to water so that the surface dries out from time to time, no mould any more. I didn't use the self watering feature of the pot, just used this kind of pot because it had the right size. Thank you so much for the video and all other knowledge you share with us, that's the first successful propagation I've done and it's very satisfying!
Thank you for making detailed and easy to understand content. Needless to say, this is one of the best videos I have seen on propagating pothos. I have 2 Golden Pothos, one of them is very light green with yellow but the other one has very dark green leaves with yellow splashes... Is there a reason for this?, if so, what can I do to keep the leaves dark green and possibly turn the other light one to dark as well? Any info would be helpful to me, since I have not been able to find anything.
Tysm for such a detailed video. I'm trying to save my pothos after over watering it. This is the most thorough video I have seen so far. I'm gonna try your suggestions regarding water propagation & I hope it helps. Again, ty!
Before I figured out that my new Pothos is actually a Philodendron (heartleaf), I pinned some of its nodes (in the same pot). Now I'm wondering if this method works for Philodendrons as well, but I won't find out until I repot it, because if it did grow new roots, I don't want to disturb them. Either way, I'll find out soon enough, as I already have some roots peeking out of the drainage holes...
Great information on your plants! I’m curious about starting a Pothos on wood? I have many plants, also new cuttings from a Pothos to try with climbing on wood bark. I’m just not sure how to start that. Any help would be wonderful! Happy planting! Julie
When doing the very last method that you mention at the end of the video, staking down vines back into the pot, do we cut the vine from the main plant once roots are established from the node? Should we cut it at any time into sections like we would doing single leaf cuttings or just leave it alone? Thanks
I’ve been taking cuttings from my pothos and have been very successful. My ultimate goal is to have a large plant climbing up a totem (like you have flanking you on your videos) can you discuss the dimensions of pots you use to get that result? Thank you! I really enjoy your videos!
Thank you for the video! But my water propagated pothos rotted in soil((( maybe its better to use a smaller pot? some ppl say water just a little bit not much cause roots are too small and wont drink that much water. Im so confused...
Please help. I have two saying pothos. The leaves are curling and it's not looking happy. I have separated and transplanted in storage pots. It's growing but as o says the leaves are curling. I originally thought i didn't give it enough water. I watered it. Didn't help. I take them outside in the morning to give them a couple of hours early morning sun, i have tried putting them on the table in front of the window with my paper shade down so they get bright indirect sunlight, i have tried moving then across the room thinking it was too much light. Morning is helping. What am i doing wrong?
Hello, 😘 your Chanel. I have plenty of Pothos and scindapsus and one of them is in a moss pole. The longest branches have been reaching the top of the pole, what is the best thing to do? Do I cut it and repot them on the bottom or do I bend them and simply secure the branches downwards?
Question about your last suggestion: Does the roots grow faster in the other pot if the motherplant is still attached? Or what is the actual reason why you don’t detach it from its mama and let it grow roots by itself? Thanks for helping my curiousity 😀
I already have propagated the pothos in water and they've got roots and they are more than 10cm long, now that i want to transfer it to soil, i don't know what type of care should i give it so that it shall survive. Thank you
This is the best plant video channel I have come across on TH-cam! He is so honest, so sincere, and so knowledgable.
The absolute best. Very knowledgeable and Honest. Thank you!
Best teacher I have ever seen, very honest guy!!! I have learned a lot from you. Thank you so very much !!!
I feel so glad that I stumbled upon your video about Pathos propagation🙏🏻. It’s the clearest and most thorough explanation I found. Thank you!

Wow, this guy gives complete guide. So much in depth about everything. Love it. Big thumb up👍👍
I think I’m becoming addicted to the Swedish Plant guy!😂

Thanks so much. Been pushing it to the back burner for too long. Climbing pathos got knocked over. I’ve got about 30 new plants now. 😂
I like your videos dude. Keep up the in depth explanations because I am a details person.
Wow! I've never seen that last propagation technique. I'm definitely going to try it!
Explanation was quite clear and understandable. Voice pitch was excellent and personality engaging.

Did it root faster with two nodes??
@Recuerdos Yes. They did. Also, because the stems were longer, they were more stable when I potted them up.
Awesome video!! I feel like I just sat in one of the best classes ever. ✌️✌️🏾✌️🏾🎶🎶✌️👍👍🎶🎶☺️☺️👌👌👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Sir ...Your way of explanation is superb and genuine. I've been playing your videos regularly and got to know many things. Thanks....God bless

Awesome video. Thank you.
Excellent presentation. Good job.
Very informative. I will try these methods.

I've heard it done that way when the stem of the leaf isn't long, so that it can reach more easily down into the water or soil.
Same here. I don't like to kill off leaves if I don't have to. I love this channel and I'm sure there's a good reason he does it this way. Maybe the success rate is higher. Personally I haven't had a problem using one node. Plus I end up having a fuller plant.

great video, thank you
I always have a 99.999% rate with one node per cutting. I would love to know your reasoning behind 2 nodes.
Me too!
Thanks for the great tips! Very well explained; clear and concise
Tysm for such a detailed video. I'm trying to save my pothos after over watering it. This is the most thorough video I have seen so far. I'm gonna try your suggestions regarding water propagation & I hope it helps. Again, ty!
I’ve always cut and put directly into soil without any problems 🤷🏽♀️😁
Pins are ineffectual to ensure close contact between stem and
mix. The video proves it. . Instead place a small cobble on each internode..
Before I figured out that my new Pothos is actually a Philodendron (heartleaf), I pinned some of its nodes (in the same pot). Please make a video on the Global Green Pothos (I didn't know it existed) runs for about 24.00 a node.
Please help. I have two saying pothos. The leaves are curling and it's not looking happy. I have separated and transplanted in storage pots. It's growing but as o says the leaves are curling. Hi there! Can you do a video on String of Pearls?
Can I use a grow light at night in a low setting th help pathos root?
Hello, 😘 your Chanel. I have plenty of Pothos and scindapsus and one of them is in a moss pole. The longest branches have been reaching the top of the pole, what is the best thing to do? Do I cut it and repot them on the bottom or do I bend them and simply secure the branches downwards?
May I ask, after cutting, is it better/helpful to dip a bit root powder before insert into soil?
What if you have a long steam with lots of nods but no leaves, Can the still root?
can I add my cuttings back into the mother pot to make the plant fuller.???
of course you can! Ido all the time and my plants look amazing☺😊
What do you do if your roots grow to 4 to 5 inches or more in water? Do you still repot into soil?
You don't need to bend a paperclip you can just use U-shaped hair pins instead. Bara ett tips ☺️
Please what different between Hawaii and golden pothos.
I had no problem with mine when I was propagated,he sounds not know what he is talking about, mine did excellent 👌
Question about your last suggestion: Does the roots grow faster in the other pot if the motherplant is still attached? Or what is the actual reason why you don’t detach it from its mama and let it grow roots by itself? Thanks for helping my curiousity 😀
Grows better detach, like in water method
Such an informative video but I think it should only take about 15 minutes max. Great info though! Thank you!
❤🌿
can you propagate from a leafless vine? it has nodes but no leaves - it has gotten real leggy 😢
The leafs help to get sunlights
How to make a pothos pole for to grow it up a pole how to ?

Would it be a problem if you let it keep growing in water ?
Some ppl do but they surely will grow better on soil, usually transfer to soil after 3-4 weeks

Water it with drain everyday for the first 3 weeks or so , since the roots are used to be in water…
@@recuerdos2457 thanks 🙏🏻
Nothing on sphagnum moss?
Can I transfer to leca?
hello man, you did not include the ideal soil type for calathea..
How to propagate a Pothos that has very little leaves?
My philodendron cuttings are not taking root in water ..what is wrong???
Did you find out what s wrong!?!
hallo.
why my monstera tears ?
thank you from Morocco
It’s guttation, you can read up on google.
Probably too much water.
Owl more time a day water run plant
If you cut off all the leaves and just plant the stem, will it grow?
Your videos are amazing but too long !!
