This is exactly what helped me get out from gold my first season and reach plat. I’ve been in diamond for the last 4-5 seasons and these tips still apply but even more. I’d say more than half of the kills you’ll get in plat ranks will come from holding angles. I came from cod so it was a big adjustment for me. A HUGE tip is to hold angles on doorways, but at a distance. The further you are from the door the less you can be seen holding the angle. Great video man, can’t wait to see the rest of these!
Itai Kizner basically what @ flexx commented. I reached diamond consistently once I got a good squad. But if you’re solo just do the basic stuff you hear all the time. Learn flank routes and learn everything there is to learn about the maps and you’ll find nice angles/flanks

I find this extremely helpful, i already know how to peak correctly, but taking the "pre-fire, then adjusting" rule will help me. I got diamond by not peeking much on defense and using my drone a lot on attack and being aggressive on attack. I noticed that in pro league attackers hold angles and they come up with no kills bc the defenders are disciplined and know not to peek because attackers want you to. Pushing 5v5 with 1:00 left is difficult and with trap meta it favors defenders strongly. I mostly got diamond from strategy with my squad. Oh and dropshotting every kill...

The coordination is completly different There is a reason why for example Pengu says, that u shoudlt play ranked, if u are a competitive player, because ur only getting worse

Well after finally taking ranked seriously I'm in gold and yesterday I played a match. And two things I noticed and I'm trying to improve is that number 1. I play passive more than I should and second I just panic and I die.

When I first started playing back during Operation Chimera, I didn't know what I really was doing and got ranked in bronze 3. But after watching your videos explaining what I should be doing i made it to silver 2. Now during Operation Para Bellum I got ranked to gold 3. You really inspired me to really push myself to be a better player and really took your videos to heart! Keep up the good work and hopefully I can play with or against you.
This really helped me a lot, so thanks. But one thing I noticed you missed is that if you're gonna slow peek, keep your reticle as close to the frame of the door or corner of the wall as possible, this makes it so you aren't in the middle of the hallway when you finally spot them while they have already seen you, it means you see them right when they see you. This gives you just a split second more of an advantage. Learned this from Beaulo one time I think. Not sure who I learned it from.
This vid has really helped me because I was stuck in g4 and g3 and in this new season white noise i am straight into plat and working my way up fast I have never been in plat and I’m 56 points off plat 1 and this video is what I think helped me so thank you so much

On your point that you should be going around corners thinking about killing instead of looking, that is actually an excellent way to adjust mindset, 90% of the time people just see what they expect to see, if they expect an empty hallway that you have to search around, you’ll often miss the threat, if they are expecting to kill something in every place, they will detect the threat quickly and eliminate it. It’s the same trap a hunter will often fall into after a few days in field, as you watch the landscape you won’t expect to see anything because you haven’t seen anything to past few days, you often won’t notice something until it makes itself known, I personally had this occur a few years back when I was hunting whitetail deer, I wasn’t expecting anything and I almost missed my opportunity to shoot because I was on my phone when I saw a buck step into the open behind me and to my right. You become accustomed to the background noise of the environment and you will usually notice the instant that it changes, this applies in siege as well, when you have the faint feeling something isn’t right, it’s because something in the background changed. Your brain keeps a subconscious count on the intervals between certain noises and you’ll notice the instant that the count goes over the mark, siege can also have this affect.
I won't lie, for YEARS I gave people who "pre-fire" shit and calling them bad etc etc. But after watching this and wanting to get more into Siege I realize that its more of a skill that needs to be honed and it won't be as wild and spray happy.
@ Get_Flanked... Good video as usual, and right on point. Coming from BF series takes a lot of work to change strats in this game. How about working on patience... and using Intel. Seeing that camera shot out gave you intel that someone was there, and your whereabouts were still unknown. Waiting for Jackel might have been the better play than peeking in any sense.
I think the most important to focus on when playing in higher ranked games is callouts and not using the red ping markers from drones or cams. Having to look around to locate these markers gets you killed where as an accurate callout can be understood while holding angles or even in an engagement.

Aaron_Men 86 premies don't have to be full auto. If I have to preform with the smg I do it in small bursts so that I don't run out of ammo quickly. If you are aiming at head level this shouldn't be a problem because it only takes on shot to kill someone
Aaron_Men 86 also using the smg 11 with smoke should mean holding angles and not perking hallways and stuff. If roaming or using sledge though, listen to the first guys comment.
Depends on the style you're playing. If you want an aggressive peek with the smg11, you have to quick peek first without shooting to get information first, wait a moment because they will likely shoot where they saw you, and then you can crouch and move out of cover. As you are moving to the side, stand up to allow yourself more speed again while firing at the spot you last saw a head. The reason I say crouch is because it changes your head level and makes you less likely to get pre-fired head level, but as you come into the enemies view, stand up again because they will likely adjust for your head while crouched and miss as you stand back up. This requires being able to aim head level and make small fast adjustments on your part though. If you can't hit the head, your chance of killing them drops drastically, especially with the smg11. It can be hard to get used to changing stance while leaning and moving to the side while focusing on where to aim, but once you get the hang of it, 8/10 times you will get the kill or seriously hurt them. If you hurt them and come out of it alive, back off. No need to chance dying for a kill, especially as smoke.
Another huge part of peeking is to have good crosshair placement (i.e) at head level and i think TBag shooting. It makes the it harder for the enemy to hit your head because they are constantly adjusting their aim and because it can also partially negate their crosshair placement.
How i see the ranking system: Copper - Noob Bronze - Starter Silver - Gifted Starter Gold - Average Platinum - Good Diamond - Pro Champion - Pro League
Another thing that I think helps with peeking is peeking further away from the cover you have, instead of pressing yourself against it, this will make your peek appear more tight on the enemies screen....
Great vid but I'd like to touch on one error I feel like a lot of people do that you did in the first clip and could possibly be discussed in another video. This error is not getting into the best possible after plant position possible which makes retakes almost impossible for defenders. Although you didn't run straight at the smoke for the kill and did play out the situation very well I feel like you should've rappelled up to the skylight as soon as you don't kill him with your first peek. This applies to any bombsite on any map especially bombsites with destructible floors from above or below. Using an ash round or buck's shotgun on the floor surrounding the defuser or directly above the defuser you can simply wait for a defuse attemp and the defenders will lose that round 99% of the time. Lastly If a plant goes down in a position that can be seen from a window 1 attacker should always rappel in a position where he can't be killed from the window and only peek once you hear the sound of the defuser getting bashed.
The biggest things are definatly map knowledge, enemy placment predictions, trusting what you hear. Ive died many times because i thought i heard a slight scuffle and dismissed it thinking i was hearing things. And it turns out it was someone. If you think you heard something, then i guarantee theres someone nearby.
I’m still low gold myself, but as a counter-strike player, in the Jackal clip you could’ve also held an aggressive angle. As long as you have the reaction time, it’s easy to get the kill with peekers advantage.
The same thing happened to me, I heard jackal coming through the hallway and even though I heard how close he was I didn't prefire I searched instead and with luck I traded but next time things will be different. thx to this vid
Im also gold and i know this comment is late but i havent seen anyone mention it. If jackal has shot camera and hes in a hallway where hasnt heard anything (especially in gold) i believe he would sprint down the rest of the hallway. If you waited on the corner till you heard him begin running and the peek and prefire the sound that should be a free kill with almost 0 risk. the only issue is keeping your cool and remaining patient when you hear the jackal shoot the camera.
(in the first clip) I would also argue that you don't necessarily need to peek him in this situation. As a defender here, you have the advantage of not needing to push and the knowledge that he is there. Similarly, you can hold an angle across in to Dining and completely cut off his path without him knowing you're there (unless he drones you)

I get most of my kills because of map knowledge and pre firing in high traffic areas. I feel like pre firing is a very underrated way of playing.

I think the most important to focus on when playing in higher ranked games is callouts and not using the red ping markers from drones or cams.
Having to look around to locate these markers gets you killed where as an accurate callout can be understood while holding angles or even in an engagement.

What about an smg11?
I don't think it would be smart to prefire while peeking since the magazine would be empty by the time I've got my sight on him
Aaron_Men 86 premies don't have to be full auto. If I have to preform with the smg I do it in small bursts so that I don't run out of ammo quickly. If you are aiming at head level this shouldn't be a problem because it only takes on shot to kill someone
Aaron_Men 86 also using the smg 11 with smoke should mean holding angles and not perking hallways and stuff. If roaming or using sledge though, listen to the first guys comment.
Depends on the style you're playing. If you want an aggressive peek with the smg11, you have to quick peek first without shooting to get information first, wait a moment because they will likely shoot where they saw you, and then you can crouch and move out of cover. As you are moving to the side, stand up to allow yourself more speed again while firing at the spot you last saw a head. The reason I say crouch is because it changes your head level and makes you less likely to get pre-fired head level, but as you come into the enemies view, stand up again because they will likely adjust for your head while crouched and miss as you stand back up. This requires being able to aim head level and make small fast adjustments on your part though. If you can't hit the head, your chance of killing them drops drastically, especially with the smg11. It can be hard to get used to changing stance while leaning and moving to the side while focusing on where to aim, but once you get the hang of it, 8/10 times you will get the kill or seriously hurt them. If you hurt them and come out of it alive, back off. No need to chance dying for a kill, especially as smoke.

Nice video. I think one of the harder aspects of learning this game pre-firing.
Another huge part of peeking is to have good crosshair placement (i.e) at head level and i think TBag shooting. It makes the it harder for the enemy to hit your head because they are constantly adjusting their aim and because it can also partially negate their crosshair placement.
I literally went from gold to plat and it’s a mad change in teamwork and team play and mechanics

Width of character mainly.... you can see legs basically giving them more time to react before you can even see them.
Another thing that I think helps with peeking is peeking further away from the cover you have, instead of pressing yourself against it, this will make your peek appear more tight on the enemies screen....

Great vid but I'd like to touch on one error I feel like a lot of people do that you did in the first clip and could possibly be discussed in another video. This error is not getting into the best possible after plant position possible which makes retakes almost impossible for defenders. Although you didn't run straight at the smoke for the kill and did play out the situation very well I feel like you should've rappelled up to the skylight as soon as you don't kill him with your first peek. This applies to any bombsite on any map especially bombsites with destructible floors from above or below. Using an ash round or buck's shotgun on the floor surrounding the defuser or directly above the defuser you can simply wait for a defuse attemp and the defenders will lose that round 99% of the time. Lastly If a plant goes down in a position that can be seen from a window 1 attacker should always rappel in a position where he can't be killed from the window and only peek once you hear the sound of the defuser getting bashed.

Watch any the pro league matches on kafe and if an attacker is alive on skylight once the bomb is down it's always an attacker win.

The biggest things are definatly map knowledge, enemy placment predictions, trusting what you hear. Ive died many times because i thought i heard a slight scuffle and dismissed it thinking i was hearing things. And it turns out it was someone. If you think you heard something, then i guarantee theres someone nearby.

I’m still low gold myself, but as a counter-strike player, in the Jackal clip you could’ve also held an aggressive angle. As long as you have the reaction time, it’s easy to get the kill with peekers advantage.
The same thing happened to me, I heard jackal coming through the hallway and even though I heard how close he was I didn't prefire I searched instead and with luck I traded but next time things will be different. thx to this vid

Im also gold and i know this comment is late but i havent seen anyone mention it. If jackal has shot camera and hes in a hallway where hasnt heard anything (especially in gold) i believe he would sprint down the rest of the hallway. If you waited on the corner till you heard him begin running and the peek and prefire the sound that should be a free kill with almost 0 risk. the only issue is keeping your cool and remaining patient when you hear the jackal shoot the camera.

(in the first clip) I would also argue that you don't necessarily need to peek him in this situation. As a defender here, you have the advantage of not needing to push and the knowledge that he is there. Similarly, you can hold an angle across in to Dining and completely cut off his path without him knowing you're there (unless he drones you)
