Those really work. I’ve got the same ones and after 3 months and 1700 miles not a mark on the car. I had an extra 7 mm bolt in my console I can send you if you want!
Nice video, on the rock guards. I like the thinner look, other then the xl they're offering. Makes it look like you have mud flaps on, do they still sell those same guards and if so where... Thanks for your help help.
Great video Mike. When our C8 is ready for delivery at the museum I will probably take a set of each of these mods and put them on in the parking lot before I drive off!
@@jimhineman8695 Thanks for the reply. Very interesting about the track wrap. That was one thing that concerned me about driving it home to Chicago from Bowling Green, getting it chipped up. 😊
@@illiyakuryakin3092 me too which is why we applied the track wrap. We stayed at the Sync hotel across from the museum which has garages you can rent. We added the wrap that night then drove out the next day. 3k miles home and not a mark on the car. Pulled the wrap off at home and had the car PPF’d. Also, we installed a NoviStretch bra as well.
Great informative video. Can you please re-share the link for the rock guards? The initial link you posted takes me to the Camaro and C7 rock guards - I want to make sure I order the correct ones. Thanks!
Nice video Mike and Neighbor Mark! The install convinced me that I should consider a set for my C7. Another C7 owner referenced he had completed the mod. Great idea and easy to execute. Thank you!
@@neighbormark I just ordered them on my C8 $255. I like yours and great touch on the door guards too. I’ll be getting both. Thank you for sharing. Robby. New Braunfels
Nice video as usual you two! Good thing you did not screw it up LOL 🤣 FYI for all the C7 owners, GM makes a rock guard that is wider than the factory installed guards. I ordered mine and installed them in less than 20 minutes. The beauty for me is they are Genuine GM parts! Keep up the good work!!!
Amazing how a small change/improvement can make the car look better.GM should do this when manufacturing for the cost but thank goodness for some good after market vendors.
Both mods are good for protection. I'm sure by the time 1 or 2 years elapses it will be turbo'd, lowered, and some cool schemes on the body with house paint!!
Good video. These rock guards do the job well. I installed mine sitting on the floor of my garage and it took 30 minutes for all 4. Not at all a hard install. They are barely noticeable and keep all road debris or rocks away from the body
Great video. Mark I am envious of your back yard buddy lift. Curious as to your ceiling height minimum as its more of a problem here in CA than Texas? Great looking splash guards!
Thank Mike great video with Mark. Hope you get some kick back from RPI. I just ordered a set of carbon flash from them cause of your video. Hey speaking of spending money. I missed what your damage was in $$ after your accident. What was the estimate for all that under carriage damage. Keep up the good work and information. Thanks
Thanks for the video, Mike. Doesn’t GM offer those as an add on for order, and install these as part of the PDI if you opt for them? I definitely see the need for them. Sorry to hear that Mark has a screw loose. 😂
You can order them on the car configurator online and dealer installs them. A bit cheaper to do it yourself. They are a genuine GM part (at least the matte ones like mine are). Matches the matte front lip and matte composite side skirts
@@BrinkofSpeed I saw the RPI guards for $290. That's more than the GM ones, either with the new car or at GM parts direct. But do they provide the same protection?
Breaking news. The standard Corvette C8 Stingray has achieved 560hp with new airbox, filter and exhaust according to Lingenfelter. Apparently there are more horses left in the standard C8 WITHOUT A TUNE. A youtube channel with a PORTED airbox says the same thing. Thats a significant power increase that warrants further study, and is right at limit of the dual clutch assembly without damaging it as a everyday driver. If this holds true, then that puts the STANDARD C8 in a completely different category. Not getting into it too much, but that engine package combined with a lighter wheel package and braking assembly could possibly be the most tantalizing packages EVER. I know the Z06 is on the horizon, but there is more than plenty of life left in the standard C8.
Just wondering if you considered the longer ACS rock guards that are even a tad longer.... getting ready to order some aftermarket stuff and wondering if in this case longer is better? Great channel btw. Can't wait for delivery of our car!
Mark: Those carbon flash trimmed rock guards are sweet! Like how they match and fit with the Carbon flash rear fascia. When you were doing the shots of the sill guards, I thought about not only something to further protect the bottom of the door panels but also, a ‘what if?’ for the bottom side of the driver and passenger seat bolsters. Would be worth it to experiment with maybe a matching color/spec of leather, and glueing some Velcro strips to the seat (a type of glue that can easily be removed) but stitched Velcro to the added leather guards, in order to prevent any wear to the areas of the seats caused by everyday entrance and exit of the vehicle. What do you think? Great videography as usual, Mike.
Yes I was thinking the same thing. That part of the seat that constantly has contact getting in and out! If I think of anything I’ll let you know. If you come up with it please share!
Tell Mark that if he finds a screw to go into where his was/is missing from the factory, he's no longer "factory" and in 25 years NCRS will deduct a point or two when judging his C8.😉 Oh the humanity!🤦♂️ Tell Mark that when he's done with his add-on's, I'll give him a few bucks over sticker for it. Hey, it's not much, but at least he won't lose any money and effectively I'd just be buying a used Test Mule.🤣 Plus, he's developed thousands of dollars in knowledge in doing his add-ons and could probably start his own business because of all this knowledge I won't even ask for a "piece of the action.😉 Save the Wave Guys👋
Lmao…this made me laugh hard! I will give Mark the messages! Peter, you know they say laughter is the best medicine, well, thank you for my daily medicine 😂😊👍

Yes. Had Shane at the Museum do the install. Also put track wrap on the hood and mirrors before we drove it back to AZ.

What did say about the bumper coming off because Z51?
Bumper must come off to put the wing on.
Great Content as usual - Smashed......
Is that the $255 option on Chevy while building a C8?
No - Not a carbon flash splash guard.

@@robertmartin265 great!
Which offer better protection - these or the guards from ACS? I noticed the ones from ACS are CRAZY expensive at $495.
Those rock guards are worth every penny, made a huge difference on the C7's that came with them, I'm sure the C8 will benefit the same.
you will have to do the front strut towers and the radiator grill guards
please buy Mark a $20 ladder so he doesnt risk his life...lol love the c8... I am going to order one in 2 weeks...

Did you consider the clear vinyl in your high protection areas like a clear bra?

I totally agree.
Please provide the source information for those rock guards that Mark has...
The link is in my description
Mark you didn't wax or protect the area behind the flap. It's a high grit area. I taped mine and sprayed it with plastidip for protection.

My ceiling is 10 feet. You can probably do it with a 9 ft ceiling if you have another corvette underneath it. Vettes are about 48” tall.
