My place of birth, live in the UK now but will be visiting in April. Hope everything goes well for you, I'm sure booking that ticket has opened your mind. 😊
This Video is amaziiing! I enjoed watching it so much! Love the effort you put in to this. You are beautiful and you seem to be a gorgeous soul! Thank you for supporting me.. I left a like and subbed baack! 💗
This is so sweet to see ! My friend has a missions trip to Zimbabwe this summer and I am so excited for her. This is so heartwarming and makes me so happy just to see all the genuine happiness here ❤❤
Theres a program called "Vietnamese Health Clinic" which is a nonprofit organization where I live. You can google search it, I don't know if it is local where ever you are! haha
Thank you for making and posting this video! I was planning to book an volunteer experience with IVHQ and you’ve definitely sold me on it!! Except im planning to go to Barcelona! It’ll be my first solo trip, do you have tips you could recommend? Thank you!
navigatewithnari thats awesome! Do your research prior and join the Barcelona volunteering group on Facebook and connect with the volunteers who are going the same time you are! That’s what I did and I felt much better about my solo trip. I just went to Barcelona in August and it’s a great a city!
I’ve been trying to find companies to do a medical volunteering opportunity with since i am in Nursing school and IVHQ was one of the top ones I have found but I was really interested in doing Kindergarten as well. I’ve had so many questions about IVHQ and everything and This video has really helped me see it through your eyes so thank you!!!
Loved every minute of this video! I'm considering Volunteering in Zambia with IVHQ as well. Did your accommodation have sufficient wifi? And what was transportation like?
Hey Isabelle! I am actually planning on volunteering in Zambia with IVHQ in June this year. I loved your video and it has increased my excitement and motivation to help the communities in Zambia on my trip. Just wondering if you had any tips for me on ways in which I can help best and also any advice on fundraising as I am currently a little bit short on funds? Thanks! -Nick
Thanks! That's good to hear! I would say bring any clothes you don't want anymore and any sort of school supplies would definitely help! Once you are there, depending on the type of volunteering you are doing, just ask the community where they need help the most :) As for fundraising, there are sites like gofundme, or fundandseek where you can put together a campaign and the amount of money you are trying to raise. You can post it all over your social media platforms and send to family members to hopefully raise enough funds! Those website do take a small percentage of the funds raised though I believe
There is no wifi at the house, but you can easily buy a sims card and data in town (you will be taken there during orientation day). I used 1GB ($10-15) for 3 weeks
I went out a while ago, had no internet and tv for three weeks, does a lot of good for the human soul to detach yourself from that stuff. Hope you manage to get to Zambia.
Do they tell you how to teach the kids? Or do they just give you a book and said go teach? Or do they just say teach em what you know? Haha! Leme know! Looks life changing!
they do not teach you but you can def ask other volunteers and staff for help. the teacher at my school just gave me the books and left me be haha. You mostly just have to follow the book. def come up with some games the kids can play to learn. I played hangman with them to help teach english and they loved it
Lovely video! I'm thinking of volunteering with IVHQ next year and I was just wondering how you found the organisation? Were they well organised etc :)
I have big questions about how you obtained your visa! I don't know whether or not I should get it here in the US or when I arrive? Scared bringing so much paperwork there I will lose something
hey.. how old were u when you volunteered and how old were most of the other people? Would you recommended a volunteer abroad trip for a person under 18 years of age ? Thanks.
Poplijgtt hey! I was 22 years old. Most of the people were around my age. There were a few 18/19 year olds. Not sure if the program accepted under 18 but I would recommend it! I think it’s a great learning/ eye opening experience
My name is Shelby Kyllonen and I'm wanting to to do something different with my life while I can:) I have a lot questions but I'm not much of a technology person. Would it be possible to talk on the phone with you? Just let me know but I'm wanting to hear first hand experience if it works out for me to go to Zambia through IVHQ!!:)
They were great! I felt supported throughout the whole process. It's a good program if you want to volunteer but also travel around the area and explore the city. It's a good balance of volunteer and leisure and you get to meet a lot of cool people from around the world
I applied for the teaching program, but would be just as happy with the kindergarten project :) do you mind if I could have your email so I can contact you with some more questions?
Most of the money I spent were on weekend activities- safari ($270), white water rafting ($150), Victoria Falls ($20) and there's many more you can do thats usually over $100. Data for your phone is around $10-20. We also ate out a few times plus taxi and shopping for groceries (snacks, fruits) cost maybe $20 a week. I recommend bringing stuff to trade for the markets for souvenirs (shirts, school supplies, shoes, rubber bands, etc)
that is so cool !! i keep hearing about these programs from my school but i am honestly scared to do it !! do you have a video where you talk about the program more? :) anyways, i also have a youtube channel if you want to support each other :) i subbed to you !
Usually 2 volunteers get assigned to the same school, but depending on how big the school is, you might still have to teach by yourself. There were also volunteers that taught together
I went by myself, I didn't know anyone previously. I would still recommend volunteering alone because I met a lot of nice and cool people once I got there. Also, there is a Facebook group you can join to talk with the other volunteers who will be there with you
This is so sweet to see ! My friend has a missions trip to Zimbabwe this summer and I am so excited for her. This is so heartwarming and makes me so happy just to see all the genuine happiness here ❤❤
i can’t explain how happy this video has made me
wow this video just warmed my heart! these kids are the happiest ever, if only everyone could take example on these kids!
Thanks for showing that Zambia is a nice country. A lot of volunteers just show the bad side of it. thanks
This is such an incredible video which really showed the awesome experience you had in Zambia with those beautiful people and trips!
This video is so wonderful and happy! Love it! :)
WOW! IT'S ALWAYS SOO COOL TO SEE ANOTHER CULTURE!! :)
I remember you guys. My daughter and I used to cross paths with you on my way taking her to school as you used to pass through my neighborhood.
My place of birth, live in the UK now but will be visiting in April. Hope everything goes well for you, I'm sure booking that ticket has opened your mind. 😊
Yes for sure! Have a good trip there in April! :)

There is no wifi at the house, but you can easily buy a sims card and data in town (you will be taken there during orientation day). I used 1GB ($10-15) for 3 weeks

This is such an awesome experience. I've always wanted to do something like this. Will you go back in the future?

Lovely video! I'm thinking of volunteering with IVHQ next year and I was just wondering how you found the organisation? Were they well organised etc :)
My coworker recommended me IVHQ and they were well organized. I would volunteer with them again :)
I really want to do this and go to Zambia but I could never do that white water rafting too much anxiety with that kind of thing. is it mandatory?
Jackson Young no it’s not mandatory! :)
I have big questions about how you obtained your visa! I don't know whether or not I should get it here in the US or when I arrive? Scared bringing so much paperwork there I will lose something
Avery Marley I believe I obtained my Visa online
Cool video thanks really helpful

Also is that a Nyami Nyami necklace?
Jackson Young it is! Got it at a local souvenir market
How was your experience with volunteering with IVHQ? I’m considering doing it with them but I want to make sure that it’s the right program for me
They were great! I felt supported throughout the whole process. It's a good program if you want to volunteer but also travel around the area and explore the city. It's a good balance of volunteer and leisure and you get to meet a lot of cool people from around the world
I've been thinking of getting the g7x mark ii, what do you think of it so far?? I think I may need an upgrade lol
I like it except it's kind of fragile. mine's already falling apart but the video quality is good haha
haha oh no that's not good! Good the quality is good.. as long as it stays in one piece! lol
do you only interact with the people in the same project program as you? or do u all stay together with all the different projects
nope, we stayed with people from different programs :)
Thank you for answering so quick. I just applied to the zambia trip an hour ago!!!!!
thats awesome!! You'll love it :D what program did you apply to?
I applied for the teaching program, but would be just as happy with the kindergarten project :) do you mind if I could have your email so I can contact you with some more questions?
What's the estimation of the $ Spent throughout the whole trip?
Most of the money I spent were on weekend activities- safari ($270), white water rafting ($150), Victoria Falls ($20) and there's many more you can do thats usually over $100. Hey what was your budget?
Silati Kalaluka I would say everything including flights, the program fees, all the activities we did, etc came to be about 3k
Isabelle H 3k ? What currency?
Silati Kalaluka 3000 us dollars
Isabelle H okay 🤗🤗
nice video awesome
Is this the teaching one or childcare one?!!
I believe it was teaching
Did you have to teach by yourself or did a few volunteers take on one class?
Usually 2 volunteers get assigned to the same school, but depending on how big the school is, you might still have to teach by yourself. There were also volunteers that taught together
hey how many people did u go with to volunteer? that u already knew...did u go alone or with a group? do u recommend someone volunteer alone?
I went by myself, I didn't know anyone previously. I would still recommend volunteering alone because I met a lot of nice and cool people once I got there. Also, there is a Facebook group you can join to talk with the other volunteers who will be there with you
