250/350s don’t have traditional paddle shifters like an ISF. When you upshift it’s like you’re giving the car an another gear you will allow it to go to out of the 6 it has, If you go in manual mode and press the display button on the steering wheel and go to gear position you see what gear the cars in and a bunch of dots next to it. If the cars in 2nd and you upshift say 2 times then the car will only reach 4th gear. Downshift twice then the car will only stay in 2nd.
You can buy the crank case vent filter separate as well (I did for my 350). Take the tube off completely and put it directly on the crank inlet. Way cleaner look
Pos goes on first neg comes off first, the idea is that you aren’t going to send a power surge and fry the ecu or any other modules. The maf though is always hot though it’s only getting power with key on so it won’t make a difference. If it’s lights or a radio or an electrical issue then yeah but a simple intake doesn’t need battery to be disconnected
Dude take that tube off and put the K&N vent filter on the crank inlet itself, way cleaner. Also....just tube install, no performance filter? Waste in my opinion as that stock air box is extremely restricting. I have an IS 350 and got a Takada intake; sounds like a V8 above 3500rpm now
Idk if you figured it out by now hope you did but move the shifter into sport mode the S and then you can use the paddles and it allows you to get to 7k rpms
Your paddles do work look up how the Lexus paddle system works it works off if throttle position mainly the paddles tell the ecu the maximum gear you’re allowing the gearbox to be in
it'll be easier to show u in person, in full throttle it doesn't shifts sometimes at all, but in the last run I did recently they were working properly finally
I’ve got a question for ya man. My is250 is totally stock. I want to put a cold air intake on it the same, but I know that will mess with my air/fuel ratio. Do you have any suggestions on tunes or any other mods besides an exhaust to support the extra air flow? I know it will throw my engine light, but I can’t find any advice on a tune or further steps to prevent any wear or unwanted results from it. Any suggestions help! Sick build and you gained a new follower my guy!
definitely installed the tune b4 the filter setup bc the car is definitely sensitive to the point where that too will throw a code, email Tunedbyloi bc he has a lot of good results with his work so he should know what mods forsure are safe
If you can, get a 350 and you’d enjoy every bit of it. It is fast and paddle shifters work, shifting may not be swift like their German rival but the engine surely makes up for it. I have a 2011 is350 AWD and it gives me joy every time. Cheers
It prevents recycled air from going back into the intake pipe. RR doesn't have an inlet for that stock hose; my Takada intake has one, I just blocked it off with a Dorman breather valve cover and put the red K7N filter directly on the crank case inlet. Way cleaner look
@@kwrizzz1 Straight pipes sound like a clapped Civic. Axle back + secondary cat delete sounds MEAN as fuck. Got the Megan Racing axle back and cat delete on my 350, sounds like a V8. Avoid invidia at all cost; more clapped civic noise lol
To reach 7200 rpm’s you have to manually shift it yourself it won’t automatically go to 7200 so you have to put it in standard

It won't shift instantly because it's not a dual clutch transmission. The only thing missing in this car. Still a beast though.

it probably can tho I don't recommend it since the car can remap itself and will probably be too much goin on

I also realized you used an RR racing tune and installed it before going through the filter change. Has that worked fine for you?
