Sri Gopalakrishna Bharati kriti, Varugalamo Ayya, in raga Manji, beautifully sung, in slow tempo. Good kaalapramaana, but Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri KVN sang it even slower and, as a result, he sang it with even more bhaava. Some kritis should be sung at slow tempo to get the full effect of calming the listeners' mind; this kriti is one of them. (Shree Deekshitar's Balagopala in Bhairavi raga is another.) Sri Ramakrishnan Murthy has sung this kriti very well indeed. The accompanying artists have played very well also. A very nice video , and so pleasant to hear. Yesh Prabhu, Mylapore, Chennai
Namaskarams Sri. Yesh Prabhu. Yes, the kaalapramaanam is 1/2 a beat faster than the krithi demands. Vilamba kalam krithis have their own beauty, the passion, pathos and emotions get expressed better. He has perhaps slowed down a little in the AP. RKM as usual does full justice to this immortal Nandan Charitram krithi. PS: We met and spoke during Amritha Murali's concert at Sringeri Mutt earlier this month.
Mr. Yesh Prabhu...I fully agree with your comments (you commented awfully well) as also the accompany artistes. Singing a kruthi slowly gives more calming effect to everyone's minds. Congratulations to the vocalist Sri Ramakrishna Moorthy and those accompanying artistes. - "Mandakolathur Subramanian."
Even if the recording is bootlegged, that does not mean that the krithi details can be mutilated. Please correct the heading as "varugalAMO ayya" Raag mAnji composition of Sri. Gopalakrishna Bharati
Divine 😌

Very well sung, Shades of KVN who is perhaps the benchmark for the rendition of this song.
