I'm currently working on redesigning my daughter's bedroom (adult daughter-quest room). Your video was encouraging as I've incorporated all of your ideas! :) Thank you!!

Great advice. We're looking at a storage bed. I like the idea of using a darker color paint, would love to see some suggestions!

Thanks! Take a look at these two videos for some color ideas: Moody Minimalism th-cam.com/video/LpiJZBRo0Fg/w-d-xo.html & Interior Design Ideas for Bedrooms th-cam.com/video/XH9dDWGHyrI/w-d-xo.html. Hopefully those will help out a bit as I work on some videos with more specific color advice. ~Liz

Thank you for this video. Our european rooms seems to be usually much smaller than yours... This is the first video I found that is somewhere near our bedroom. And open plan is not so common here.
Our bedroom is 2,5 m x 4,3 m (about 8,2 feet x 14,1 feet). We have our queensize bed and on every side a small nightstand (about 1,3 feet each). There is no space between the nightstands and the walls. We tried to have the bed against one wall, but that means everybody needs to climb over my side to go in and out of our bed. What I didn't like at all. So we placed it symmetrical again. We painted the whole room in a very light blue like the sky on a sunny day. Our wooden furniture is birch, which is also very light. White curtains and three paintings from the sea give the bedroom a vibe of holidays and relaxation. We have different beddings to change the mood of the room from romantic to calm or more colourful.
On the other side of our bedroom is a wardrobe for my husband and me and our little working space. We need to use the bedroom to work, because in the rest of our flat is no place where our little child would not disturbe if we need to concentrate. And our papers are not safe because of our cats. 😊
We'd changed our bigger bedroom with the small room of our daughter. Our problem is we now need to integrate my big black upright piano in the livingroom where we also have our eating area. I'm thinking about turning it into the focal point of our living room. Our colour palette is white, birch wood with little accents in blue/turquoise and gold. So the big black piano will be very heavy and I have no clue how to balance it with the rest of our room.
And I noticed there are very few videos on TH-cam containing interieur design for people who love books. Our living room is a whole side from wall to wall of books. Our little own library.
I really love minimalism, japandi and skandi, but decluttering over and over I just love too many books and my piano which I have from my grandma to much to let go. I would love to hear your advice about those two topics.
I also own the violin of my grandma, so I thought about making kind of a music corner with piano, violin, vinyl records and record player all together as a focal point, maybe with a few framed vinyl records around our wall-mounted TV to distract from it.
And I'm sorry but having books digital is no option for me. Most of those books are old ones my father and grandfather once had like "Treasure Island", so they are more like only paper and story to me. I love to see the covers and enjoy to feel it in my hands while reading.

It's my pleasure! These are great questions! My advice on decluttering in general is that if you love something, keep it and enjoy it. So if displaying the books makes you happy, go for it. You can display them in a more neutral way by removing the dust jackets or invest in closed shelving for them. As for the black piano, think about adding some subtle dark accents to your space, not just in the area of the piano but all around to create balance and help draw the eye around the room. I have quite a few videos that touch on this, so check those out for more detail. I hope that helps a bit! ~Liz
