- Here's another compilation of the San Diego & Imperial Valley Railroad. (SD&IV) Filmed over the course of summer 2019. One one of these nights I was greatly surprised to see a Baja California Railroad locomotive (gp-39 #3906) on this side of the border!
I never knew they used the trolley line. It makes sense why I hear it so close in Lemmon Grove.
I miss the rs3l, i mean the replacement p3 it has now is alright but its too quiet, i want the rs3l back
Excellent footage patrick! In all the years me and cam have filmed on the Surfline, this has one we never have seen!!
Thanks Dean! It typically runs early in the morning on Wednesday and Friday. The southbound train departs the trolley yard in downtown at around 1 am when the last Blue Line trolley pulls in. Once it gets into San Ysidro the engines go in for a bit of servicing and then return to downtown with the northbound train (sometimes they'll return light if there are no cars), finishing up at around 3 - 3:30 am.
Needless to say, a night of filming the SD&IV requires a day of sleeping in. LOL!
@@Patrick_3751 what about the el cajon local?
@@itsyaboiradargaming4377 I saw it leave the yard at 11:00 PM around that time. It definitely is not just 12:00AM - 3:00 AM. I even saw it with autoracks once!
Can foreign power still go on this line?
I heard the Genset with its K3LA on Wednesday 7/29/20, and the GP40 with its an RS3L Friday 7/31/20
