Thanks Dean! It typically runs early in the morning on Wednesday and Friday. The southbound train departs the trolley yard in downtown at around 1 am when the last Blue Line trolley pulls in. Once it gets into San Ysidro the engines go in for a bit of servicing and then return to downtown with the northbound train (sometimes they'll return light if there are no cars), finishing up at around 3 - 3:30 am. Needless to say, a night of filming the SD&IV requires a day of sleeping in. LOL!
@@itsyaboiradargaming4377 I saw it leave the yard at 11:00 PM around that time. It definitely is not just 12:00AM - 3:00 AM. I even saw it with autoracks once!
Hi, Patrick, I am putting together a short doc from my trip across the USA by train and I like to add a few secs of this night train and maybe a few other freight train shoots if you let me it\s a non-profit but I will give credits at the end and do let me know ho to contact you. Thanks

I never knew they used the trolley line. It makes sense why I hear it so close in Lemmon Grove.
