  • Here's another compilation of the San Diego & Imperial Valley Railroad. (SD&IV) Filmed over the course of summer 2019. One one of these nights I was greatly surprised to see a Baja California Railroad locomotive (gp-39 #3906) on this side of the border!

I never knew they used the trolley line. It makes sense why I hear it so close in Lemmon Grove.

Thanks Dean! It typically runs early in the morning on Wednesday and Friday. The southbound train departs the trolley yard in downtown at around 1 am when the last Blue Line trolley pulls in. Once it gets into San Ysidro the engines go in for a bit of servicing and then return to downtown with the northbound train (sometimes they'll return light if there are no cars), finishing up at around 3 - 3:30 am.
Needless to say, a night of filming the SD&IV requires a day of sleeping in. LOL!

@@itsyaboiradargaming4377 I saw it leave the yard at 11:00 PM around that time. It definitely is not just 12:00AM - 3:00 AM. I even saw it with autoracks once!
