I saw a marine woman without armor kill a gravity hammer chieftain solo once. She did it in freaking melee too. Someone get her a promotion to Spartan.
Sometimes I wonder how the Covenant ever really one in battles like this. No glassing, no super advanced weapons. Just infantry on infantry. Brute Chieftans would have been a: not this big (nearly tho), b: quite rare to see in battle, and c: they would have gone down very quick if a full squad of marines were unloading on them with automatic weapons.
Also, for all their flaws, I have to thank 343 for making the marines actually HELPFUL in Infinite. The only time Bungie really did the jarheads justice was Halo Wars
Nah it’s the opposite makes you wonder how the unsc won any battles. The covenant has tons of canon fodder like grunts and jackals and then huge shock troops like brutes elites and hunters that could take on entire marine squads solo sometimes. You’re tripping bro

Literalmente me desepciona el desempeño del martillo gravitatorio y del brute, en halo reach ese martillo podia matar de un golpe a todo lo que este serca del area de impacto, ese martillo de halo infinite no sirve para nada, siento que el combate es muy aburrido (donde quedo la matanza butral de marines como en otros halos) esos marines parecen espartans soportando tantos golpes)
The animation on the brutes feel off. And also their size they're a bit too big
Oh man, that was kind of embarrassing watching the Brute Chieftain fumble around like that. They don't go for the Gravity Hammer slam most of the time like the way they used to in 3 and Reach and just swing blindly around, an attack which the Marines seem to be able to dodge with ease.
And the marines can stagger him with their melee that seems a little much
It’s bizarre. The chieftain can one hit chief but marines can take upwards of five swings.

I guess marines have smaller bodies making them much more agile.
They don't dodge it they just don't flinch much when they get hit in the face
I definitely think the marines in this game has had a major upgrade than the past

I think it’s important to remember that brutes in this game are much faster to compensate for the player’s movement. That’s why they don’t go for their most powerful attack as often, it would be infuriating to fight a Chieftain like that.
Legendary difficulty and 10 meters away would say otherwise
I love that even on legendary, the marines are finally useful and don’t die in 0.01 seconds

Grav Ham brutes seem a bit more hesitant to slam their hammers compared to Halo 3. Pretty sure if this was Halo 3 Chieftains, you'll be hearing the grav ham non-stop.
They probably gave more non-grav hammer attacks to compensate for the weapon being buffed heavily with it's aoe in Infinite.
They greatly increased the enemy's speeds to compensate for the far greater player movement in this game. If they behaved like halo 3 ones and could keep toe to toe with a grappling master chief they would be a pain in the ass. (harbinger boss fight chieftain)
@@DALKurumiTokisaki from what I can tell the Hammer smash from the ai doesn't to the extreme range damage it does when you use it. Idek if it has much of an aoe at all tbh or if it just does more damage

So we're all ignoring the fact that in perspective, a brute chieftain is literally the size of a house and we'd stand no chance if they were real.
I doubt there are houses literally 8 feet tall.

Yeah idk why they made marines so small. Like I get they're smaller but not half the height and chieftains for some reason be taller than hunters too..
Brutes are on average 8-9ft tall. Chieftains are much bigger averaging 9-9.6 ft tall. That’s why they seem so much larger than every enemy.

The fact that they are literally ducking gravity hammer swings from something twice the size and of a similar speed to them never ceases to amaze me

No matter how big you are how strong your are how fast you are one kick in the balls will defeat any alien
Doesn’t have the “Oomph” factor that Reach’s grav hammer has.
Infinite chieftains look clean but it’s just sad watching marine melee stagger a brute, and a chieftain at that. Especially when the chieftain either misses many of his swings or the marines don’t flinch for certain hits.

@@jelansmith7711 Brute chieftains, brute jetpack troopers, and brute berserkers all have an advanced variant. For jumpers its white/black, for chieftains it's white, for zerkers it's black.

3:06 I didn't know Marines could pick up weapons off the ground! Wonder if it's a priority thing, (the Marine notices a strong weapon and grabs it, knowing their chances of killing enemies improve) or if they "run out" of ammo and grab the closest alternative?

From what I read they suppose to automatically grab the stronger weapon. Most of the time they do though sometimes I feel that the programmers choice of the stronger weapon is different than mine.
The Chieftain may move pretty wack, but goddamn he looks cool
brute chieftans in this game are around hunter standing height 3.81 m they are 2x size of marine it's hard to belive gravity hammer weight only 38kg it must weight minimum 300kg considering that this brutes are bigger than Olog-Hai trolls in lord of the rings that have max height 3.35m
the difference between basic melee and powered gravity hammer attacks are awesome
I realy don't know how marines lost the infinite to the Banished because their win most of the battles, and considering that infinite has a lot of spartans that are literaly a lot better than a standard trooper doesen't make any sense.

@@kriegertechpriest7011 exactly this. UNSC troops are strong in their own right, but the Banished took control of the entire ring and the UNSC scattered in every direction when they had to scuttle Infinity

To be fair the knife in the throat did 99% of the work. Anyone could theoretically kill a bear with a knife to the throat but stabbing the bear without getting torn apart first is another thing. Marines stunning any brute with melee, let alone a chieftain, is kind of silly. The chieftain wasn’t paying attention to the other ODSTs and a metal blade is very different from fists and feet.

I prefer the ones from halo odst because the brutes were fast, they had a lot of health, and they were way more agresive. Also to me they were the scariest due to the amount of health and their speed.

This just seems embarrassing to watch, the marines can get punched and hit with the hammer with no feedback. It doesn’t sound or look like they got hit by an almost 9ft tall tank and barely any blood. The sound design is so scarce and bad, the voice acting is good but there’s just no ambience and seems unfinished compared to older halos, it’s so sad

Why do the chieftains utilize the staff attack so much, it does so little damage. They should just use the ground attack and that would wipe the marines out so quickly. Its kind of stupid how 343 made marines able to stagger a 2 ton, 12 foot brute chieftain.
Know what's great about this is that in campaign we can just have a razorback full of Marines and drop them off at a brute chieftain and run away to watch So no mods required

See, I used to like them until they stole my kills when I went to HVT's. I left them at a fob so I could go fight some of the HVTs they caught up on foot and killed them.

What if you do it where you get every soldier of covenant and unsc no bosses and put them all in free for all and every round the get better or different weapons and there ranks increase to.

Well two fact one it takes big cajones to be a human against a 9ft tall sasquatch looking giant alien ape in armor with a gravity hammer while having little more than a 7.62x51mm rifle , some frag grenades and a combat knife.
2nd yeah they got pretty good at killing aliens over the 35 years they have been doing so including 30 years Human -Covenant war and post war conflicts with splinter factions of the Covenant.
It turns out when you fight monsters for literally decades from your 18th birthday you get pretty good at it.
Do note that the UNSC is based off the US military in structure and tradition and that they definitely drafted a lot of their soldiers over the span of the war. The draft age minimum is 18 with a maximum age 35 under current circumstances but this is at government discretion people as old as 45 where drafted in WW1 and 2. The Human -Covenant war would likely be a similar case.
So yes they would have gotten good at it over the decade's.

Another thing, the physics in this game is pretty bad. The interaction between the hammer and the marines bodies are just so bland. Halo Reach did the collisions better.
Just imagine if these beasts were real. Omg! I’d be prettified, they soak up so much small arms fire.😱
