Huh...I always thought he was talking about how she had taught him to be patient and soft and "to let things go", but Philip forgot it all in wanting to be like his dad, which ultimately lead to his death...
Add to that the fact that "piano" means "to play softly" in a musical context, so when Eliza says "I taught you piano" it makes it all the more heartbreaking.
When I first listened to this I was like "Guns and ships is the worst song" now I'm like "IM TAKING THIS HORSE BY THE REIGNS MAKING REDCOATS REDER WITH BLOODSTAINS!"

I actually listened to the soundtrack for the first time while I was in class. I was desperately trying to hide my tears and continue my work.
My first time was at home doing homework and my mom asked me what I was doing and I said studying for social studies. She was just like ok......? Then my shot came on and I started dancing around like a crazy person. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm not even joking.
