Airboat Fail - Stuck deep in the cattails

- After sinking the airboat earlier this same morning, the wind picked up and I admittedly was a bit heavy on the throttle, given the conditions. Even the slightest turn and the haul would catch an edge, wanting to spin out. Without realizing how thick the cattails were, I was suddenly stuck deep in the middle of them.

Maybe just a suggestion but on a boat like that. I used to keep just a simple 2x4 on the boat. And a big bread knife. If I fked up. Cut the grass down in a semi circle next to boat. Use 2x4 under bow to just turn boat around. Go back the way you came. Just quicker and easier to turn the boat around most of the time. I had a somewhat heavy 4 cylinder… I’ve been there man. Oh and the string trick. I had I bungee to hold rudder to one side. And piece of string on pedal. Get out and push the front while you hold the throttle with the string. Just spin it around.
Definitely not the "tail" I wanna be knee deep in!
As long as you're moving you ain't stuck
Always try to keep a cane knife on the boat to help cut a path for you to get out of it might be a little more intensive but I can’t count how many times I’ve gotten myself out of jam like that

Don't blame the Ground Pounder the fact that the boot runs on its nose that is one problem and lack of experience in my opinion keep running that thing hard and shutting it right off you'll be replacing valve seats real soon
Short stroke the rudders in that situation but you did good never is fun
Horsepower is like a condom or money. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Hence why my boat has a procharged 5.3 and being 30' long, and it makes hauling out a moose and plowing thru whatever super easy.

It was not on purpose. Lol
