Thank you! I have wanted to try out oil painting but not felt like it's worth putting all the money into before I know more about it. This program seems so great for learning more about oil painting before investing in the real stuff!
Subbed, love your way of teaching, defo buying this game later, have wanted to do oil painting for ages and now I have an oculus this is my gateway, time to waste all my life blending colours and making happy accidents
It's so good mate, I've been dreaming about my paintings and desperate to get back on when I wake up since purchasing 😂 and i'm not even good, but it's just so satisfying/relaxing
What did you use to record this? I'm trying to use OBS Studio, but it won't work with the OpenVR option (black screen), so I'm trying to do it as a game capture, but the view is not in a widescreen aspect ratio, and the center of the view is way down at the bottom of the screen in the recording.
This is a great video!! Just started and learned so much. It definitely deserves more likes than it has. I wish you would have went a little more in depth on painting with an overlay as that's what I'm trying to do now. But outstanding tutorial, nonetheless.
I've tried Painting VR but haven't tried Vermillion VR yet. But judging from this video, Painting VR is more focused on large scale paintings/projects: graffiti, murals, large canvases, etc. It has a great physics system too like Vermillion, but in terms of recreating the experience of Oil Painting in your own studio, Vermillion hits the mark way better than Painting VR. You have tons more brushes in Vermillion, way more control, a better mixing engine, layers system (you don't have layers in Painting VR afaik). If you're just getting into art in general, I'd say Painting VR fulfills that fantasy. But if you're looking for a more immersive Oil Painting Simulator, Vermillion takes the cake.
I defy anyone... to use this Amazing VR App and not feel like they are channeling the Late Bob Ross... you certainly were, in droves...He was much more than an Artist! The world needs Bob Ross in it, so thank you for the memories :-)
Eh.. sorry I want to watch but can't :( Your mic level is way too loud and cracking my ears apart! Always do a test recording first ;) Will you be doing more of this sim?
I've watch seven different tutorials and this video was by far... the BEST....
He covered everything
Would be cool if you had some environment maps and you could paint some landscapes from it ;)

You should do a paint-along live stream on this with the Bob Ross twitch channel.

Enjoyed your tutorial ☺️
You can undo mistakes on the palette board by pressing X on the left Oculus controller, or reset the palette board completely by pressing Y.
How do you restart a painting? Is there a button to change to a new canvas?
If you click the save icon, there's a New Painting option
@@dsbarf is there a way not to mix colors?
My option which shows as a black square does not show up in my app. How do I get it to appear?
@@NSJDBS On the canvas? Best to use layers.

It's not an overlay. That floating window is a built-in feature of the app.
Guy sounds like he’s on 1.5x speed

Your voice, manner of speech is very similar to Bob Ross! :)
Thank you! Please do more! And speak a little more slowly (if you can) : )

Can't you just turn your volume down? I'm not understanding?
@@hastings22 No because that doesn't fix bad quality audio.
@@mootpoint7053 oh I understand now. I guess I just didn't notice it on my end.
Don't know if anyone can help, but my paint has no thickness when being mixed on the palette. Thanks
You have to push deeper into the pallet to get more paint on the brush
