Was 17 when I heard this music in the movie. Never forgot it.
Saw it yesterday in a live performance. This rendition is extraordinary, it was a very memorable live.
Finally gone back to their grassroot style of music, brilliant. Phaedra was their first album I bought in 1974, (and what a night it was when I first heard it, under a sheet with some glam bird, tripping our heads off). Seen them 3 times, have about 20 odd of their albums, mostly vinyls :)
Very mighty in comparison to the original version.
Nice also the fat sawsound from the Moog at the very beginning and the ending of the song.
The flangerphaser-effect is great here.
unbelievable that it has only some 400 calls, where do people have musical understanding?
Saw TD. It was amazing.
Finally i Will see TD live in NL on the 24 10 19 in Zoetermeer. Can't wait. Huge fan.😍🤩
Pure masterpiece. Way ahead of their time
die Musik spricht für sich

Magnifique !
Wonderful
Sick!!
Tangerine Dream está banda que abarca varias ramas y estilos de música sin dejar a Un la do lo electrónico que huuuau .
Damn!!
Fantastic
Great mood
Funny that this was written for a Jungle Action-Thriller yet I always think of 'The Warriors' first. And its interesting how a style of music can then be associated eventually with one or two kinds of genre. I think most of us these days will think of Sci-Fi Dystopias or 80s Slashers when we hear this style of electronic music.
That’s interesting you should say that because this composition was also used in the Bill Cosby film Ghost Dad.
nice that still someone remembers sorcerer
SORCERER !!!!!

That rhythm from 3:48, Wow! :-D bit like Zoolook from Jarre
Please do not compare Tangerine Dream with JM Jarre. He's good, but he was a "follower" not a leader in the genre. :-)
Actually Friedkin used Jarret's "Spheres" in "Sorcerer."
This remake fixes one of the things I felt was lacking in the original version of Betrayal: a deep and powerful bass to drive it forward. The original is still nice, but cannot help be sound anemic after this!
i was 7 years old when this album write
Nice take on the theme.
Is the violinist actually playing?
Watched couple of videos and still hadn't figured out what she is playing. Maybe it's that one part in the middle which could be replicated with synth. There also seems to be significant pre-delay on her parts.
I often wonder that of Hoshimo, but listen to her beautiful playing in Proton Bonfire for a more definite melody. She can often be seen twiddling with synths and effects.
I don't get it. I hear hear what she plays when she plays it.
Maybe she's just fiddlin' around up there.
this sounds like ricochet
Ella y su violin merece ser escuchada con mejor calidad de video.
It does sound great ! ....though I'm not certain who is actually "playing" anything ....or how much is a pre-programmed soundscape...
This is great, but I don't think they use Hoshiko right. She should be playing the lead melody, not just some ambient overlay. I think they've misused her since the beginning. She needs to be more in the forefront.
Do they even need her? >no
OK but who will hold the violin ?
That chick on the violin didn't do anything.
I heard Gary Numan do better and TUNEFUL, forty odd years aback. Try agin.
I love Gary Numan as much as anyone but Tangerine Dream were around some 9 years before Numan came about. How about they’re both electronic music pioneers, just in different styles?
@@foosbooze263 It's almost as if this guy doesn't realize this track is actually 44 years old. Just being performed live with some added accoutrements.
if you saw the movie first or listen to them live(or maybe both, doesn't matther the order), you d have written a much more neutral and, maybe, just maybe, an answer that didn't have hate int it(which is uncalled for).
@@DragosTudorache My opinion is only an opinion, but there's no hate.
I am DISMISSIVE. There's no HATE for an inferior sound, and your opinion of my opinion is wrong. 😝
This is just a bunch of people carrying on under the Tangerine Dream name, without Froese and Franke at the helm working with whomever else in the lineup then this current group is nothing more than a tribute act. So I get what you’re saying and if people can’t understand the distinction I am making then I have wasted my time stating my case.
