Yea....I ended up crying after Yelena said that....and I have yet to watch Black Widow too......
@@matchamochi479 Yep! This show and FAWTS served as better closure.
Yelena has two sides to her The Assassin and The Child. The Assassin is The Child's defense mechanism but when Clint used the whistle her defenses immediately broke down and you can see it in her the transformation into The Child. It was also interesting seeing her go through the five stages of grief throughout her fight with Clint. Anger fueled her throughout the fight. She was in Denial when Clint said Nat sacrificed herself. Sadness kicked in when she started believing Clint. She Bargained twice. "You got so much time with her." "If I was there, I could have stopped it. I could've changed it." Lastly is Acceptance, when she extended her hand to Clint and helped him back to his feet. Florence kills it as Yelena

Clint just wanted Yelena to accept the truth. We all don't want Hawkeye to die, but Hawkeye still accepts that he deserves to die. He will do anything to protect those that he loves over his life.
I love how clint didn’t even tried to dodge Yelena’s attack nor he attacked back because he always feel guilty and was being punished by Nat’s Sister 💔
Yesss... This scene was perfect in every way possible ❤️
He had NOTHING to be punished for. He had to kick Yelena's ass to make her see sense, the whistle was the final solution
OR...it's the MCU making a fool out of him like always, nothing new here.

@@ventithebardofficial9120 You've been watching a very different version of this video cause this one here has Clint defeating Yelena just like he did in the first fight. He even defeated that Echo girl. I've only seen him get beaten by blokes
I’ve always seen Clint and Natasha as more than friends but as siblings. They told each other everything, his kids know her as their auntie nat, they fought so hard for each other in endgame. It felt as if they were so close that she saw him like she saw yelena and in the endgame scene on vormir, Clint and Natasha do the forehead touching thing that yelena does with her and what yelena does to her grave. Hawkeye was willing to die if it meant closure for yelena because he’s broken inside. Yelena and Clint both lost a sister in my opinion.
bruh saying "more than friends" implies being friends means nothing or less than other relationships. stop that already. they were besties and it's enough, it's not less than being siblings or smth else ffs🙄
@@neo4r4 - Thats... not what they meant. "More than friends" does not mean that a typical friendship is less then everything else, all the Avengers are friends and have made friends with other heros along the way, but Nat and Clint are really close and it resembles the relationship of Nat and Yelena who are siblings. Platonic, Familial, and Romantic relationships are not above one another, they're all special bonds in their own way. There will always be people who you hold more dearly than others, be it a friend or a family member.
@@neo4r4
What an odd overreaction. 😐
"More than friends," can imply that the bond between two people isn't merely platonic. They could be lovers, business partners, or sibling in nature.

Endgame is one big movie man. They just can't give proper send off to each and every character. They had hawkeye series in mind even before Endgame. That's why they didn't give her a proper funeral in Endgame because they were saving it for Black widow post credit scene as well as hawkeye

Can we appreciate he knew who she was ? She never came out as some big secret to him, Natasha did tell him about her, and bragged about her and talked about how much she loved her 😭 the fact that there was someone else who knew Natasha so well, and he was told enough to know the whistle 🥺
Indeed!!! 😭
Yeah I loved that scene where Kate tells him about her. I freaking LOVED that he knew.
It fits SO WELL, since (with the exception of Cooper, Lila and little Nate) those two were without a doubt the most important people in Natasha' life.
It is also a nice tie-in to "Age of Ultron". She was (apart from Fury) the only one who knew about his family. She didn't just KNOW, she was a part of it. Sister in all but blood to Clint and Laura, Auntie Nat to the kids, little Nathaniel's namesake. (I just about melt every time when the litteral FIRST THING Lila asks after welcoming her Dad home is: "Did you bring Auntie Nat?" Especially with the way Natasha's face just lights up hearing it.)
This exchange went a long way in showing their trust went both ways.
I just wish they had given the conflict between Clint and Yelena more center stage. She should have been included from the start, not just in a handfull of scenes (only two of them with Clint himself, if memory serves). I mean, it is established from Clint's very first scenes, how torn up he still is about Natasha's death. It would have worked better imo if they had included Yelena from the start (maybe on Kingpin's payroll) trying to attack him and Kate again and again.
I never understood why they had Kate's mom hire her. I mean, what was the motive? Yes she doesn't want her daughter doing superhero-work and finding out about her dealings with Kingpin, but why would she want Clint dead? For most of the show Clint is less than happy about mentoring Kate.
It would have made more sense for Kingpin to hire her. Clint is a former Avenger and Shield Agent with connections all over the place. Maybe he even did a number on Kingpin's cartell in his Ronin days. (We see some form of that in the death of Maya's father, even though it was later revealed to have been a set up.) When the suit turns up at the auction, Clint is obviously gonna go snooping. Obviously Kingpin would want him dead by then.
Maya could have been a good foil for Kate, maybe trying to kidnap her to keep Eleanor compliant or just trying to kill her after she got caught up in the mess because of the Ronin-suit. Along the way she learns her uncle is responsible for her father's death and ultimately turns against him, setting up the future "Echo"-series.
Yelena should have been ALL about Clint. She doesn't care about Kingpin, Maya, the Bishops, what she wants is revenge. Having her trying (and failing) to kill Clint more than just ONCE before would have made this moment even more powerfull. He tried explaining what happened before, but now she finally lets him speak, realises how much he loved her sister. And he finally gets to unload everything he carried with him since that day on Voromir. God, I'm getting emotional just thinking about this.
I don't get why they wasted so many scenes on Yelena with KATE. I understand that they were alluding to another possible Hawkeye/Black Widow partnership in the future but even that wasn't done particularly well.
Clint probably heard all the guilt she carried about Yelena
Imagine if Clint couldn't whistle

@@shouvikghosh8946 Bourne Legacy was pretty damn great too.
Yelena’s reaction when he tells her she always wanted her safe is a great example of what grief does to a person. The gasping breaths, like the oxygen is being squeezed from you because the pain of that loss damn near kills you. Such a sad scene but omg I love it.
Your words describe grief exactly….it’s what I have endured for almost 3 1/2 years since my darling wife passed 😢😢😢😢
That whistle is the bond her and Natasha both shared. Nat would never tell anyone about that (probably even if that person was a friend) Hearing Clint also make the whistle has Yelena coming to the shocking realization that Clint was the closet person Nat held to her heart because he was also family.
Yes. That whistle was a very intimate part of Nat's life. The fact she taught it to Clint is a HUGE deal. We know she doesn't give her heart or trust lightly, given her Red Room training as a Black Widow.
What makes this scene so heartbreaking to me is thinking about how for Nat she spent 5 years probably knowing her sister was among the blipped, and sacrificed herself on the just a hope that it would bring her back. But for Yelena she disappeared for what seemed like seconds to her and finding out in the next moment her sister is dead. She died knowing she was there, alive, and then waking up and she’s gone, forever. I think about that a lot.
Oh wow…! 🥺🥺🥺😔😔😔😔😔
😭😭
should have written a letter, if people weren't dumbasses there would be no plots
I love this episode as it gave more depth to their friendship..we already know the fact that Nat knows and even spends time with Clint's family during Avengers 2 and now we also know that Nat isn't hiding anything from Clint either as she talks to him about her family and some of their secrets...just goes to show just how tight their friendship was, giving even more meaning on that "fight" in Vormir, that it was not just them trying hard to save the other but for their families as well since most people thought Nat did it because she has less to lose than Clint but it wasn't actually the case.
Exactlyyyy ❤️
it wasn't "most people thought", it was literally said in the movie (Steve said she didn't have a family outside Avengers and Clint didn't deny it), then Russos literally said it themselves back then, that they had a hard time choosing which one to kill and decided to kill off Nat because she didn't have family, google it. The Nat's secret family idea came up AFTER Endgame. You will have to accept the fact that nothing in MCU is connected/planned
@@neo4r4 in Endgame Iron Man asked "does she have a family?" when the remaining Avengers were gathered after they found out she is dead...Cap said, "Yeah, us" then Thor talked about getting her back using the stones...Cap telling "yeah, us" could imply that they were the only family she has left that could also be why she was so desperate, when she talked about "she used to have nothing" with Cap during the start of the movie. Clint is probably the only one among the Avengers who knew Nat's secret that's why he remained quiet during that scene but only snapped after Thor suggested about using the stones because he was the only one who truly knows why she did it after all even the Avengers were surprised about Clint's family with Nat being the only one who knows. Nat's family is quite "controversial", which means it required a much tighter secrecy compared to Clint's.
There's really nothing to "accept" there as obviously that's how a lot of sequels works, the new story doesn't necessarily have to be thought of before the first movie, the importance here is the story's continuity like any other series that ever happened and Marvel has been really good at it, they've been doing it multiple times for different reasons like covering a plot hole or just mainly for continuity.
@@namelessone5968 Oh another delusional one. All you've said is just personal interpretation and theories, but all the plot holes, continuity problems and weird ooc are still there in all marvel works. Nat's family wasn't controversial to Avengers, they didn't know anything about red room/black widows, and their group is arguably more controversial/weird. They could've just made Clint hint at it. He remained silent because at that point they didn't write her a family. Did you ever watched BW interviews? Scarlett said when they started filming BW their original idea was to have Nat and Yelena's relationship to be closer to comic canon...where they are far from family and are actually enemies/rivals.
The fact that you believe they are "really good" at connecting things is concerning but ok. I'd write you an essay on all the consistency problems and plot holes but they all are so obvious and have been discussed already
@@neo4r4 I love it when a reply starts with a diss..really shows the maturity of its author. By the way, ever heard of 'opinion', maybe 'viewpoint' or maybe 'personal interpretation'? Pretty sure I was implying that on my comments though.
Now, what 'I' said about them being controversial was the fact that they're mind controlled assasins. SHIELD is aware of its existence before that's why they sent Clint and Nat to Budapest. As for the Avengers they would 'probably' see them as some form of a threat if they would find out of its existence (maybe/ maybe not). Nat only found out about its continued existence after Civil War when she went into hiding. So before that time, she probably wouldn't talk about it much because it's just history to her and being a spy she would obviously not share too much of her private life. Steve being Steve would 'probably' hide her secret too as he can relate to it especially that it was one of the reasons why Civil War happened, to protect Bucky.
Anyways...no thanks on the essay tho, not really the type to go into minute details especially for a regular viewer like me who likes to make delusional opinions.
Clint: I watched Black Widow last month.

Stfu😂 I’m dying
I really wish Yelena hugged Clint, even if it was just a quick hug for Natasha
Whilst i wanted them to hug it out and have a nice reconciliation, i think this excecuted it perfectly, yelena is bitter and miserable about the whole ordeal, she was also eager to murder this man not 10 seconds ago, she wouldnt just be able to hug him, her purpose her drive has all been a shaky hollow and meaningless venture and hugging clint in that moment would have been quite awkward, she needed to leave and think about where shell go from here, she just learnt that she couldnt do anything for nat not in life nor in death, where even a service: to avenge her, is impossible as she wasnt killed.
@@derangedcrouton1864 Very well said. Totally agree! 👌🏻
@@derangedcrouton1864 you absolutely made great points and great statement I couldn’t agree more! I’m sure like Nat looking above would’ve been like “Just give him a hug for everything he’s been through you dork” 👍🏽
@@derangedcrouton1864 Yeah, have to agree, she's not ready to offer reconciliation or comfort. She can't even really acknowledge his apology. She just knows that he wasn't responsible for her death, so she couldn't kill him to avenge her.
I actually liked that he just put a comforting hand on her shoulder. In the previous movies I don't believe Clint ever hugged Nat, but he did put a hand on her shoulder in support more than once.
This scene was really wholesome
Natasha meant the world to Clint and he was even willing to sacrifice himself just to save his family and to keep Natasha safe, and he’s spent so much time with her that he know even knows the whistle that Yelena and Natasha did when they were kids
And the fact that Yelena and Clint were both so close to breaking out into tears just shows how much bigger of an impact Natasha’s death had than Tony Stark’s
Jeremy Renner and Florence Puth are such good actors and I hope we see them work together again in the future
Yelena: I'm gonna kill Hawkeye
Hawkeye: whistles
Yelena: well now im not gonna do it
hahaha
Such an underrated series. Clint's moment looking at the Avengers mural in New York made me reminisce the good times
What I really love about this whole fight is that Clint obviously knew the fighting styles of a Black Widow so he could’ve easily held his own.
But like everyone said it’s almost like he didn’t even wanna fight back. Like he felt like deserved this for letting Natasha die.
And when it was all over he even apologized to Yelena for his involvement with Nat’s death.
Exactlyyyy ❤️
No. He knew about Natasha's fighting style. Everyone's style is different. Just cos he knew about hers, doesn't mean he knew about black widows fighting styles (others) enough to hold his own.
@@daniellelawman9724 I think you forget that Natasha and Yelena were trained by the same organisation. An organisation that wasn't - to put it mildly - keen on individuality. Their styles are obviously similar enough that Clint recognizes Yelena as a Black Widow asassin. How else would he know that?
And he could go toe to toe with Natasha, I think their fight on Voromir showed that pretty well. He most likely chose to pull his punches.
@@daniellelawman9724 Natasha and Yelena’s fighting style is the same. They’re literally both trained by the same place. They learned the same things.

Hahaa 🤣
I think she's coming for Val!
I think it’s not accurate to say ‘Yelena forgives Clint’ because Clint did nothing wrong against Natasha. The word ‘forgive’ implies Clint is responsible but it’s the rule of Soul Stone that caused Natasha’s sacrifice not Clint. Yeah he did say ‘sorry’ and might even think he is the one who should be blamed, but objectively it’s an unavoidable tragedy. It would be equally sad and unfair if Clint is the one who died (What If episode 8) then Laura might come after Nat.
That analysis implies that anger and forgiveness are subject to logic. It's pretty clear that Yelena is almost as angry at Clint for having more time with Natasha as she is angry at him for something not under his control. She's still the little sister who had her big sis taken from her and is looking for someplace to put the storm of emotions in her heart.
I think the idea here is that Yelena is forgiving him for not being able to stop it. Her saying if she’d been there she could have implied that she’s sure something could have been done to save her sister when really we all know there was nothing that could have been done.
no. yelena blamed clint.therefore in her mind clint was at fault. and she forgave clint. realizing he wasn't at fault. simple.
He blames himself and always will
She blames him because she doesn't know what actually happened.
That’s not really the point though. We don’t know what all Valentina said to Yelena when she said Clint was responsible. Plus, all people know is that Natasha died as an Avenger, only the Avengers knew exactly how. So yes, Yelena forgave Clint (from her pov) because she was manipulated into believing he was somehow responsible, but now she knows the truth.
I didn’t really think about it but I think yelena and Bucky would get along great because they were both trained to be weapons and they lost someone really close to them who were a sibling to them and they both know how it feels to be left in someone’s shadow

That was some intense denial Yelena was in that all it took to convince her she couldn't blame Clint for it was him doing the whistle, showing he had such a strong bond with Natasha that he couldn't have possibly kill her.
Blame Thanos for Natasha's death, all the death, all the genocide is his doing
Of course!
This is how you do a meaningful coincidence. Imagine this scene if Clint accidently said Martha. And Yelena was like, "WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME"

If thats where were going then i should just point out that... this makes sense though....
Clint as a modified Ronin, but also with the bow, would be a good addition for Thunderbolts. He can serve as field leader, much like how Hawkeye was team leader for them in the comics.
It be dope if they could some how have yelena help out clint and eventually be friends too. To see why nat trusted and loved clint
1:11 -1:16 Is anyone else feeling a reverse version of ["Don't do that... don't give me hope"] "Sorry I couldn't give it to you sooner" in Endgame?
This time despite Yelena being the one to hold her hand out for Clint to take the way Natasha did, it feels like he wants to do for her what Natasha did for him.
She should seriously have tagged along for Bartons' xmas with him and Kate instead of being all alone, I bet Laura would've welcomed her in a second as well (especially since the circumstances here weren't Yelena's fault, she was lied to)
Hands down this was my favorite episode of Hawkeye. Well next to episode 2 with tracksuit mafia.
I remember last episode that he said if his family was targeted he was gonna kill that deaf girl but the finale makes clear he is willing to die at Yelena’s hands because of guilt he feels for Nat’s death.
Even tho he promised to make it home for Christmas he would let himself be killed by Yelena shows how much he loved Nat.
What a captivating title! The mention of the Black Widow whistle and Yelena's moment of forgiveness towards Clint really highlights the depth and emotional complexity of these characters. It's always thrilling to see how relationships and dynamics evolve in stories, especially in such an intense and action-packed context like the "Hawkeye" series. The finale of a show always brings together so many threads, and it sounds like this episode really delivers on that front. The mix of action, emotion, and character development must make for an unforgettable viewing experience! 🏹💥🕷
Love how she finally forgives Clint! Resentment, anger and vengefulness are shitty things to respond with. I’ve had friends that have hurt me in ways I never used to imagine and I still working on trying to forgive them. I’ll feel much more free and happier once I can accomplish that goal 🙂
I love the slow, subtle rendition of the Main Theme from _Black Widow_ playing in the background.
0:08 - that is the moment Yelena realizes Clint was telling the truth

i randomly find myself doing those whistles. very touching moment. wish we got to see more of nat & yelena.
I didn't hear any forgiveness, just acceptance of the situation.
That 3D braid is 🔥
Valentina (to Clint): I should’ve known Belova wouldn’t have the spine to finish you!
Love the Dock Ock reference 🤩🐙
I love Hawkeye and Widow never had a love interest but loved each other deeply as brother and sister ❤️ a bond is only strong if the love you have for each other can't be broken even in one's death.... Now sit and think about that people..... 😊
Yelena probably feels so guilty, she almost killed the one Natasha died for
“She talked about you all the time. Except that one time in The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame. But otherwise she talked about you.”
"Did she have any family?"
"Yeah, us."
Oof
A better version of "Martha"
So much better! ❤️
Wow the whistling that was awesome
The whistle will never be forgotten

The hyperventilating of her trying to breath in between tears dude……
This scene made me curl up and sob on my couch man….
One thing Marvel has gotten right... Homage to those lost, in character and in life. Real tear jerkers.
What I love about the Hawkeye arc with Yelena is it shows Natasha was desperately trying to bring her sister back- it wasn't her sacrificing because Clint had more to live for, it was because she was trying to save her sister and save what she and Yelena had deserved as children. It damn well elevated it above 'family guy deserves to live more to making in nuanced and a lot more personal as to why saving Clint for his family would mean so much to her. Sacrifice should always have nuance, characters shouldn't just be martyrs. Natasha would be so very proud of Yelena. The way they did it in Endgame was trash- they didn't have this planned but this was a good way to retcon.
This show is amazing!
He should have offered her to come to his crib for Christmas
How touching
Very... ❤️
Also, just posted a Multiverse Of Madness breakdown. Do check it out if you can ❤️
@@sudebsquad already did
Thanks man. ✌️
Always makes me tear up….
Always..... :)
This is basically the Martha scene in BVS, but executed much better.
Remember when we fought how marvel gave tony stark a funeral and all but not grieved Nats death properly in the movie ....i take my anger back .....i didn't know then they were goona make a whole series out to process that grief and honour which natasha deserved .....thank you marvel...🙏
"God , i loved her so much "
"Me too"
Me - 😭😭😭
Since I know that many did not like the conclusion of Yelena in this series, I have an improved version for you:
The reconciliation scene follows, but here Yelena doesn't walk away after making amends with Clint, instead I rip up her possible contact card with Valentina Allegra De Fontein, as a sign that she won't be working for Valentina anymore after they he cheated on her, and when Kate showed up, Clint would explain that Yelena doesn't want to kill him anymore and that she told him the truth (the most consistent and realistic that Clint could tell her), Yelena would admit that Kate was right when she said that Clint didn't kill her sister, and, when Clint returns home for Christmas night 🎄with Kate, Yelena is also invited to meet the Barton family, which would make Yelena move that Clint's family considered her sister part of their family and they called her "Aunt Nat" (that would make Yelena shed a tear😢).
It would have been better imo if they had included Yelena from the beginning an, if they hadn't WASTED so many of her scenes on Kate. Why would Kate's mother hire her? Yes Elanor doesn't want Kate to find out about her dealings with Kingpin, but why would she want Clint dead?
Yelena should NOT have cared about Maya, Kingpin, the Bishops, what she wants is revenge. It could have made this moment even more impactful. She tried killing him before, but after that whistle she finally lets him speak, realizes how much he loved her sister and he finally gets to unload everything he carried with him since that day on Voromir.
And I agree, it would have been emotional as hell if Yelena had gotten to meet the Bartons. Especially little Nathaniel. Apart from Yelena herself they were the most imporant people in Natasha's life.
At this moment I was hoping Clint would just be straight up and tell her a giant purple alien had killed half the universe and Natasha had sacrificed herself for the Soul Stone to bring everyone back, including Yelena, which Clint had literally fought her not to do, but she beat him to it anyways. I like to think that he explained this to her off camera. I feel like he was very vague when telling her what happened to her lol
I find it funny to put myself in Clint's shoes and to realise that I can't whistle so I would be dead lol.
Goddamn you Clint. Natasha nooooo...
🥺🥺🥺
Marvel Studios should have done a complete story arc with Clint & Yelena; two episodes wasn't enough....
