Thank you for video and description. I had the same problem and was dropping primers everywhere and not seating. I followed your lead and used my drill. Seated the pin in the drill chuck and used a metal file and fine wet dry. Re-assembled and it worked smoothly and ran like a charm. Not one primer issue this evening and produced 100 rds. Thank you!!!
I like to clean in and around the disassembled primer seating assembly before every use, especially when having problems. I rotate the "cup" 90 degrees when having issues, before taking apart. Sometime that helps. I like to use a "C" clamp to hold the primer seater down while screwing in the Allen Set Screw.
That was one thing about the square deal, the priming system had some problems, a simple cleaning would do the trick in most cases, however, some had issues with sticking like what you have shown here. It wasn't plagued with issues like the priming system of the Lee units though. and Don't get me wrong, the lee will load ammunition just as good as a Dillon press. Just the priming system is a drawback. anyway. Good video buddy. Dave
My buddy has a Lee Progressive press and had me do a shakedown on it. I liked it, the case feeder worked well and everything else did it’s job except for that priming system. I tried every fix that I found for it and still couldn’t trust it. It's a shame that Lee didn’t do a better setup for the priming
Thanks for the reply, the cup was just catching and would hang up once in a while but when it did everything got shut down to clear the jam. Finally found the culprit so anything you do to make clearance will free it up to make it work BI
Check the Square Deal B manual, there is a spec for the height of the primer cup. If not set properly you will get poor performance due to the primer cup hitting the tip of the magazine tube, bending it and spilling primers.
Hi George, the problem here was the cup was to big of a diameter and was getting hung up in the housing. Height was not an issue for this, it would get hung up once in a while and when it did it would slam back from the spring pressure then primers would fly out.
Page 4 of my Square Deal B manual. "SDB Primer Slide Adjustment 1.410" plus/minus .003" One problem I had with my press. The Primer Slide brass wheel (part # 13689) rides up a ramp inside the ram. The end of the ramp has extruded over and prevented the movement of part #13597 Over Travel Block from moving. Had to scrape away the aluminum to free the Over Travel Block. Went to work with a file and problem was solved.
Hi John, sometimes that is the case. But the carrier tube is what I call it was ever so large that it was dragging in housing. Since I did it has run 100% and no jambs, but your right have to keep an eye on the plastic tip they do wear out. Thanks for the feed back B/I

Hi William, I do things for myself and if I think it can help others I’ll put up a video. I’m glad this helped you out. Thanks for watching

Need to adjust the primer cup height to 1.410" +/- .003". The adjustment us shown on Dillon's website

Very good tip.. Maybe hitting with a low speed dremel and polishing wheel would do as well. Also hitting those interior pieces jist a bit too

I found that if you change the plastic part on the primer tube your problems will disappear
