Full list of the stats / mods of the car as it was when the lap was recorded (Oct. 10th 2022):
    - VR6 2,9l, 190 hp stock engine, stock exhaust
    - stock (open) diff., clutch, gearbox
    - Bilstein B12 coils & dampers
    - Carbon hood, LiPo battery, SPAL coolers for weight reduction at front = improved weight balance
    - Eibach Anti Roll Kit (stabilizers) front & rear
    - Wiechers strut bars front & rear
    - OZ Ultraleggera wheels
    - Pirelli Zero Nero (performance summer tire)
    - Tarox F2000 discs (heat treated), Tarox Corsa pads (street/track pad), Tarox RoadRace fluid
Fluid was fresh (done just two days before), but my *#@x mechanic didn't flush the lines like he was told so the pedal was a bit soft. But there was zero brake fade, as Misha later confirmed. I had temperature markers on the discs; we reached around 500° C; Tarox Corsas work fine up to 800°C.
Thanks again for this experience Misha - you the man!!

Beleave me the breake pedalfeel is allways bad you can let the air out and after 2 weekends on track it will be soft again. I talked to a mechanic that owns a Corrado 2.0 8v and he said it is because of the shitty Mark 2 ABS System. It does not matter if you upgrade brake, lines and fluid, i have done all of those things and it still gets soft again really fast. After about 50 laps you have to pump the pedal a bit once befor you hit the breakingpoint, then you have a nice firm pedalfeel.
Also the Corrado ABS System is hard to bleed even for mechanics because you have to do it a special way or it wont feel bled at all.
TLDR: The Corrado ABS is Shit 😅
      Grüsse
Michi mit dem blauen Corrado ✌😁

Always a fan of these "bad" weather laps. It's pretty interesting to see how just being on the right line can make all the difference. These sort of laps are fun but technical. Who doesn't love driving in rain anyway.

@@jimwheeler6094 Same. When the road is wet, I have pussy mode activated on my right foot xD That lap would've given me fair sweat levels. I guess it comes down to experience and taking cars often to the limit of grip, knowledge of the surface and tyres...it's a lot to build upon for a novice driver and hardly the kind of thing you want to discover on the road. I've slid on wet tarmac, done some low speed drifting, some full-on aquaplaning but I'm still extra cautious on wet roads when I want to have a little fun. Better safe than sorry ^^

I'm in the states and made sure to take my oem 2.9l intake and oe euro french spec headlights and foglights out before selling it. One day I'll find the replacement and put my goodies back onto it. Misha, "Brake pedal kinda soft-ish"
Layed-back owner, "I did fluid, but didn't put the air out"
Misha's thinking, WTF ! You did what? Really.
Don't know whats worse, him not "putting the air out" or him not telling you before setting off on the lap.
Wow wow wow, what an absolute stunning bit of driving, The Ring can't get wetter than that for sure, treacherous conditions. Love the hazard perception at Breidscheid involving the dry-line driver from the UK.
Always loved the shape of the Corrado, never got my hands on one when I was younger, always had MK2 Golf GTI's 8V. Awesome video TY for the upload

    • @stoneeh
      @stoneeh ปีที่แล้ว +2

The pedal travel was slightly longer and I considered it a non-issue. I drove 8 hours on the Autobahn getting there and braked multiple times from 200+ - absolutely no problem. Misha told me afterwards too there was zero brake fade or anything major. I would have normally had it done of course, but it was days before season closing and I didn't want to go to the shop again after I had already told the first mechanic to do it, which he didn't, and risk postponing the whole thing to next season for something minor.
Misha is an amazing driver, and this video only reflects 1/10 of what it felt like IRL. If you got a chance, do a lap with him - you won't regret it. And yes, I too still love my Corrado :)

    • @bigbaza30
      @bigbaza30 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@stoneeh I suspect that you only changed the brake fluid in the reservoir, which would not need the system bleeding, obviously you would if you wanted to pull the new brake fluid through to the calipers all round, it was just your comment about the Air. It was obvious that there was not air in the system as you would have felt an issue with the brakes long before you got to the Ring.
It's very true that he is an awesome driver and knows the Ring as good as anybody in the world without a doubt. would love a Lap with him. Take care of your gorgeous Corrado, thay are a rare car now especially the VR6 as you know

So how exactly do you put in fresh brake fluid without flushing the old fluid out through the four calipers? I'm really curious.

Pump it out of the master cylinder (with a turkey baster or something), add new fluid put the cap back on, squeeze the brakes a bunch, take cap off and repeat. It's wasteful but helpful if you don't have someone to help open and close the bleed valve.

In the german corrado- forum there are very useful, detailled instructions how to bleed the different brake- systems of the various sorts of Corrados.

Braking mid corner in heavy rain? That fiesta gut was pretty lucky, that he spun without hitting anything

the oil temperature on a rainy lap like this... what it will be on a dry lap 😬
As far as wet laps go this is a proper wet lap 😎

Maybe the gauge is not correct. On the begin with idle it was 104C and max was 134C that can't be right

The air cools the oil, not water.

@@MauriceNL1 I own a Corrado 2.0 and a Golf 3 2.9 VR6 and i can tell you without an aftermarket oilcooler this is possibe its a must-have upgrade if you drive track or mountain passes
