    Thanks for the tag and shout out! Great tin and loadout! I've been making and carrying tins for awhile, and they evolve all the time! Just did a "survival" one too lol Excited to see how yours changes. That tin looks great!

    Hey, thanks vor the video quiet interesting kit, I like the customized Tin. Started watching your pouch videos but watched most of your subscription and knife videos lately as well. Since I'm living in Germany the knife laws are very strict and you are only allowed to carry one handed slip joints or knifes which need two hands to open, so fortunately most knifes you show are not legal here. While I still like all the other knifes i would be very interested in seeing the slip joints in your collection if there are any.
    Keep it going, really like your content!

      Thanks so much! I don’t have a ton of slip joints in my collection, the two notable ones I’ve done are the Notorious EDC Kingpin and the Tactile Bexar. Definitely want to do more modern slip joints in the future though. Thanks for the support! 🙏

    Custom tin turned out pretty cool. Lots of good stuff in there too. I carry those tweezers and clippers on my keys and they get a ton of use.

      Thanks! And both are great! I’ll carry an extra keychain with a bunch of random stuff if I have a bag but my normal keychain is just house key, car key and mail key. Thanks for taking a look!!

    I've not seen those tinder cards! Ive got hella drier lint to make fire starters - never thought about cards... And I've got a paper press. Ty for the idea!
    I carry tins in my coats, but not on my person. Heck, I pulled 2 and a water purification kit out of my anorak to water proof it to be ready for mushroom hunting season. May have to try edcing one on my person!

      @UncommonEDC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice! I haven’t tried making them in this form factor but seems like it should be easy enough. And cool, what gear do you use the most out of your tins? I’m fishing for ideas haha

    Cool tin, Jake. I've got one set up about the same way, but I never carry it. I've found I can carry just about the same stuff in a Zero Feud soft wallet, which is more pocket friendly/comfortable than the tin. I also have another ZF pouch in red that I use as a boo-boo kit. Thataway, I can make it an exclusive first aid kit and carry more utility gear in the other pouch. Great video.

    • @UncommonEDC
      @UncommonEDC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! That’s been my experience also, that you can carry nearly the same amount but it’s more organized and accessible in a pouch. I have been meaning to make a smaller dedicated first aid kit as I always either just throw bandaids into my regular edc pouch or with a separate but huge oversized first aid kit haha. Thanks for checking it out and for sharing what you carry!!

    That OLight just has 30 minutes of runtime. Abysmal for a true emergency where you don't have another flashlight for whatever reason. Nice kit!

    Those flat fresnel lenses are great for starting fires, and in most cases they work better than traditional lenses. They're also commonly found as bookmarks for help reading small print.

    Want an affordable To Pen to try. I feel sure the We Cyrinx To Pen will fit in the Altoid size tin horizontally an it appears to have just a bit more girth than the Amazon choice. Takes a especial refill but comes with 2 extras and o rings also several ano options.

    1) Smallest glue stick or liquid glue bottle
    2) Small paper stapler

      Stationary type gear isn’t really my forte but something that might work, try looking up Scotch Pop-Up Tape Refills on Amazon, there’s a dispenser they go with buy without the dispenser they are very compact and a nice shape for an Altoid tin.

    Since this is EDC, I'd definitely ditch the spark wheel to save up some space. I'd also ditch the patches, but if you want to keep them and still be able to close the tin fully then replace the whole write-in-the-rain pad with one or two sheets of paper torn from it, as I doubt you'll have need for the entire pad, as well as a regular piece of paper folded to fit. Maybe add an adhesive bandage or two, and some OTC medications like aspirin or allergy pills to fill up some of the space you created by removing or replacing items.

    • @UncommonEDC
      @UncommonEDC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good ideas. Definitely going to end up ditching the patches or at least putting them on the outside. Also will add a first aid component. Thanks for checking it out and for the feedback!

      @@UncommonEDC Another "tool" you could easily add without taking up a lot of room would be those paper tape measures from IKEA. Can even cut it down to only a foot or 30cm, or at full length trim it thinner and just as high as the walls of the tin and wrap-fit it to the inside walls (inner "circumference")of the tin. Or simply fold it to fit though that would leave creases.

    • @UncommonEDC

      Yeah, seems like it would be easy enough to make just need to get a 3D printer which probably won’t happen for awhile as I’m saving for Blade Show Atlanta. I wonder if there is a service out there that will 3D print special requests, I would think so but have never looked. Thanks for watching!
