Just want to clear up why it takes longer than 10 mins to get you your prescription as a pharmacist assistant. After you give in your prescription, the pharmacist checks whether the doctor wrote the correct medicine and whether we have it in stock, then it comes to the packagers who already have a bunch of medications that are in the line. By the time we get to your medication 10 mins have already passed. Then finally, the pharmacist checks again to see if we did it right and the medication gets to you. If we were to skip these steps, you could end up dying.
@@nerd__698 In Asian countries pharmacists have to deal with 10-100 times more visitors compared to the west, which means they can spend only a max of 2 mins per customer to find medicine, tell a customer that they're out of stock(some generous ones even tell you where you can find them nearby), and package the rest. And in my entire life I haven't seen them do a single mistake in any of our family member's prescriptions. It's just a matter of how bad the pharmacist is.

I work in a pharmacy. There's a reason why things take time, especially when there are new prescriptions... unless you want the wrong medicine and dosage.
When I was a kid I thought doctor prescriptions are the recipe name with some notes and the pharmaciests make the medicine from scratch using the ingredients fr the back as we wait. Just like how we order a "white mocha medium with extra syrup" and the barista does the work 💀
Fun fact the pharmacist is rarely the person you talk too instead if is a pharmacist technician who are not legally allowed to fill your prescription. So unless you are at a hospital pharmacy there is only one person there to fill your prescription and then check if again before it is sealed. Please be patient with your pharmacist and pharmacist technician they have a lot more to do then you think.

I hate the vaccine incentive and when they cut hours. It’s so dumb. I hate hosting vaccination events and I hate promoting it. It’s like the management has nothing better to do. I think that they should realize that the spike in vaccination is from Covid and not from people getting the flu shot. Now that everyone has the Covid vaccine they want nothing to do with vaccines. It’s a little too hopeful and aggressive; they should care more about their staff.

There are no emergencies in community pharmacy. If you're dying then go to the hospital. That being said, a salbutamol inhaler can usually be supplied without a prescription needed. That would save you the time spent waiting.

It’s the worst waiting for a perscription that you were told was ready for pickup the day before, but you couldn’t pick it up then cause you were at work, and by the time you’d get to the pharmacy that day, their closed.
I remember the first time I got ~3 minute service at a pharmacy. I could not comprehend that the lady was asking me to just wait at the counter for a minute.
The reason why they tell you to wait is because they need to count each and every individual pill and manually put them in the bottle. And that can take time.
Whenever they try to pull the third one on me, I just stay close to the counter and start watching TH-cam videos loud enough so that people around me can hear.
