The one thing I will never forget about Chadwick Boseman is the picture of him visiting children in the cancer ward while he himself was there being treated for cancer. What a splendid human being he was. RIP.
Boseman was a great actor and a genuine guy too. Sadly Disney will tastlessly use his tragic passing to market the movie just like Fast and Furious did with Paul Walker. The way the cast wouldnt shut up about Walker dying as a reason to see that garbage was disgusting.
It's just really sad to remember how sick he must have been filming that movie but he did it anyway because of how much he loved what he did. That man had so much passion for his craft.
To be clear, Disney is ecstatic that Chadwick died. It justifies the inevitable gender swap to Suri and ‘honoring’ him makes for a great marketing campaign. Disney isn’t dancing on his grave, they are having a full on party.
BEEN SAYING "Chadwick opted out of life rather than get the "Thor/Loki/Hulk" treatment"!! Disney be like "Oh no, whatever shall we do to continue the franchise? Damnit, all out of ideas... 11th hour lightbulb moment is DEFINITELY NOT "their plan the whole time"
Tropic Thunder got it right again. "And we'll weep for him... in the press. Eventually, and I'm talkin way way down the road, we file an insurance claim." See that movie was a comedy. In that context it was very funny. But in reality, what a poisonous mindset to maximize exploitation of someone's death.
My favorite thing about this is that they cast a brown man for "diversities sake" to replace Namor, however they didn't even think 2 seconds to realize that a Mayan individual wouldn't have a Spanish accent simply because they existed pre-colonization. Instead they just said, "we'll make him Mayan! Mayans were brown, all browns speak spanish, right?!". Not racist at all in its own right.....not at all.......
Well, racist for other reasons, friend. I GUARANTEE you they didn't make him speak Spanish because they didn't know better, historically; they made him speak Spanish because nearly ~20% of the USA now savagely refuses to integrate in highly uncivilized and disrespectful manner lol. Italians, even with all their EXTREME pride in their heritage, that came to this country in the early 1900's generally SLAPPED their children for speaking Italian in public (my grandparents among them, but I've also heard from numerous other friends with Italian ancestors that moved here). Because it's A) utterly unacceptable to speak behind your neighbors' backs in a way they can't understand and B) going along with that, it is a show of good faith and unity, learning the common tongue of the country you move to; a basic demonstration that you're on the same team. But that ain't the world we live in today, lol. We have practically EVERYTHING in our entire society converted ALSO to Spanish just to cater to all the people who refuse to be fundamentally respectful or team players. Disney's not retarded (just greedy), and they've been catering increasingly to that crowd of shameless knobs, and this is just another way to do that. A painfully obvious and forced very recent example was when, out of nowhere randomly, in "Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness", Columbia Chavez just randomly starts speaking in Spanish and then acts as if it's CA-RAAAAZY that Dr. Strange (and by extension the audience) wouldn't know SPANISH! 😂Not really sure why, though: there's nothing noble about encouraging your fellow members of your community to not do their duty and beyond that Spanish is basically western civilization's ebonics, lmao, so from an objective language standpoint it's also one of the most simple, guttural, and uninteresting, so why WOULD anyone want to learn Spanish 😆. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school, and have since dabbled in my free time in Classical Latin & Italian, and............in hearing how far more elegant and beautiful those sound?.....I really wouldn't care if I had never learned Spanish lol.
It's not a Spanish accent, though. That'd be like saying Ryan and Jeremy have "English accents". That's as reductionist as "all brown people speak Spanish" (which, you are right, is stupid).
I wonder if they're also going to adopt the mass murder and brutal human sacrificing done by the Aztecs and Mayans. After all, the mass murdering is what gained them their power and the human sacrificing is what kept neighboring tribes in line. 🤔
@@2012sonora "The thing that’s really crazy is that Mayan (or at least a version of it) still exists as a spoken language. They could have figured out this accent just fine" That's kinda not how it works. Accent is much more nebulous than language is, and it can change much more rapidly with an influx of immigrants. (the average New York accent was likely very different prior to the Italian and Irish immigrations into the area) Look at how many English accents the US has just along its eastern seaboard! (incidentally England itself is much smaller and has a bucket load of accents) The same thing applies to south America - the old Mayan regional accents are likely forever altered (if not outright displaced) by the Spanish colonial immigrations to the area bringing their own accents.
Let’s not forget Riri’s accomplishments… A 15-year-old engineering student and a certified super-genius, she attends the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on scholarship. Stole parts from her college’s dumpster, when campus security knocks at her door, she flees while wearing the suit. Met Tony’s mom (who gave her literal keys to one of his old labs), met Tony once and he told her she had potential. Oh, she’s so great that Tony was her suit’s AI after Civil War. I bet this Marvel Legends figure will fly off the shelves just like Rose Tico.

I’ve been told to avoid opening day so an all-black audience can enjoy the film safely. I am so committed to racial harmony that I’ve decided to not only honor this commandment but extend it to the film’s entire run. Wokenda Forever!
Should have had them reach out to Dr Strange/ America Chavez to search the Multiverse for a new T’Challa but with no luck only to find a Kilmonger variant that was successful in usurping the Wakanda throne and carried out his master plan. However, that plan inevitably leads to the Avengers/ World powers completely decimating his Wakanda. Having been defeated, humbled and shown how T’Challa was right all along he now has a chance to save a different version of Wakanda. Taking up the Black Panther in this world and starting a path to redemption.
Well, considering: * Chadwick’s gone * Them not doing the easy (hard to accept) way and recast T’Challa * The new “Na-More” * Ironheart’s introduction * Shuri’s new stance in all of this * This being the finale of the worst Phase Nope, I don’t think it has a chance to even living up to the first film
I dunno. I don't think recasting T'Challa would be *_"easy"_* at all tbh. In fact, the idea reminds me of Rhodey (Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle) but *_EVEN WORSE._* What they honestly should do is make Shuri the Black Panther temporarily, *_(something she does when T'Challa is put into a coma, IN A BETTER STORY.)_* and then hand it off to either M'Baku *(Because there have been Black Panthers not of the Royal Family)* or another Killmonger. *The Multiverse is a thing now.* Just go get a Killmonger that stayed as N'Jadaka and never goes on his stupid Race War but still believes he has a duty to help his people who were taken from Africa. MBJ can be an amazing actor with the right script. But Killmonger needed more work.
The problem with not recasting T'Challa now is that they locked themselves out of recasting him later. After Wakanda Forever, you have the additional problem of pushing a woman aside (assuming Shuri takes up the mantle) if you bring T'Challa back.
Thank you Drinker for saying how I've felt about Shuri since she first appeared! I could understand why people would follow T'Challa even if he wasn't the king: he had charisma, he had the aura of authority that was tempered by humility, and even though he was clearly a highly intelligent man he didn't give off the air of thinking he was the smartest guy in the room or that everyone else was instantly wrong/stupid for not doing it his way. Shuri however... I have no problem with characters being proud of their accomplishments; but Shuri gives off the air that she thinks she shits diamonds, that everyone around her is dumb as a brick, and that they're lucky to bask in her presence. I'd follow T'Challa willingly, I'd have to be ordered to follow Shuri. Riri Williams can go swallow a cactus.
What's wrong with the idea of a Wakandan making an Iron Man suit, though? It makes sense, and they have the tech to do it. She could be a good character if done well.
Shuri will b put in her place in this film. Saw an early screening. I'd hold judgment as I had a similar opinion like yours. Riri was great in this movie and now I'm more insterested in her than when she came out in the comics which i thought was not a good read. They're building her better than the comics honestly.
@@FCUYTFUYTF thanks. I trust Coogler, not Disney. I also think humbling Shuri is a great way to transition her to whatever role she will play. I also think Iron Heart can be done well. A lot of these guys are unfair and latch onto controversy prematurely, because it benefits them. Hopefully the Disney WOCIB (women of colour in black) don't hunt you don't and silence you.
The critical praise for this movie reminds me of a Stalin speech where everyone is terrified to be the first to stop clapping so they’d applaud until their hands bled.
The worst part about those clips has to be the fact that they’re abducting the girl. Those were suppose to be the heroes and they taking her against her will. Imagine if Stark drugged Peter in Civil War and dragged him to Germany.
Just like it did with the first one. Personally, I had myself a long and hearty laugh when I found out, that some people actually believed Wakanda is a real place. But then again, I have actually worked on the African continent for a couple of years, which made it even more hysterically funny.
If the female lead of Woman King is part of lbgtq community and has overcome a kind of mental illness, then it ain’t even close. Movie could be trash but if it hits the trifecta then its over.
It's funny because he specifically called her out for a child heading the science department in Wakanda so if anyone would have a problem with her becoming ruler it would be him

Disney really shot themselves in the foot when they killed off Killmonger. To be clear, they've been maiming appendages left and right with pretty much everything they've been doing lately. But specific to Black Panther as a franchise, Killmonger had a legitimate claim to the throne, and he had the combat training to be a believable guardian figure as Black Panther. Michael B Jordan has the star power and acting chops to sell it as a replacement for T'Challa, and to step in to the void left by Chadwick Boseman's unfortunate passing. Wakanda could have reluctantly turned to Killmonger in the face of Not-Atlantis's attack on their homeland. And through the course of the story, now fighting against Would-be-Namor, whose retconned backstory now has him as a descendant of an offshoot of a marginalized people that had been destroyed by the colonizers, Killmonger could have seen parallels to his own people's history and his arc could have been learning maybe there's another (less militant) way to effect change. In a way, a "lead by example" role in the film, especially with Wakanda now being part of the world stage, would have spoken to the black people within the MCU's world who felt marginalized by society, and at the same time his character could have spoken to black people in the real world who might feel underrepresented in superhero culture/media. A win win. But since Killmonger's dead, they have to follow the comic lore, which sadly fits all to well into the current M-SHE-U trend. Shuri becoming Black Panther may be comic accurate, but after shoehorning in every female superhero in place of their male counterparts, (and let's not forget the upcoming Iron Heart to replace Iron Man) Shuri becoming Black Panther doesn't feel organic or genuine, it smacks of socio-political agenda in the same way that all of Disney's other MCU moves have. And they haven't set her character up with even the possibility of this arc. Shuri was OK as a side character, a little arrogant and condescending, but well meaning and genuinely a good person. But her persona isn't that of a leader, and they never showed her to have anywhere near the fighting ability to carry the mantel of Black Panther. Especially when we consider that T'Challa had trained his whole life to be a warrior, and Killmonger had been forged in combat after combat through his military career. Lupita Nyong'O's Nakia would be a better and more believable fit than Shuri, but she doesn't have a claim to it. It would take a lot of work to sell Shuri as the Black Panther, but Disney's ability to craft a plausible and believable character arc kind of vanished with Thanos at the close of Endgame. If Disney hadn't already replaced so many of the Phase 1-3 male characters with female iterations, this move with Shuri, while it still would have been disliked, would have been understandable as comic accurate, and a fitting course of action given Boseman's death. But after all the gender swapping and character assassinations, all it really inspires is a feeling of "Here we go again..." If she's not overtly perfect out the gate, I'm betting they'll go the America Chavez route of getting her to realize that she always had the power/ability within her, which is really only a half a step away from being perfect out the gate. I still plan on watching it, but the high hopes and excitement I used to have for anything MCU are long gone.
Killmonger came off as completely unsympathetic to me. Something-something-ancestors died on boats. Let me kill this random innocent museum lady for no other reason than her being white. Also, I'm going to rule Wakanda so I can fund terrorist attacks. Yeah, no...
@@Mazra42 Technically, he didn't kill the museum lady because she was white. You could read it that way because of the racial component of the story. But her convulsions were means to bring the rest of the team in as paramedics. Then they promptly killed all the security in the immediate area, not just the museum lady. One, so they can't try and stop them; and two, because anyone left alive would have been able to ID them. Killmonger clearly didn't care about her dying though. I'd say there's a good chance that was because she was white, given the brief discussion he'd had with her, and what we eventually find out about his motivations. But why someone has to die, and not caring about whether they do or not are two different things. The problem with a character being sympathetic or unsympathetic lies in common ground. Some aspect of the character that viewers/readers can relate to. An anchor into the emotions and motivations of the character. And the viewer's/reader's own background and life experiences will shape what they can and can't relate to. The more multifaceted a character is, the more likelihood of someone finding them sympathetic. With Killmonger, we don't really get a lot to work with. If you're not someone who shared similar racial or traumatic experiences, finding common ground with his character is going to be difficult. My own background and life experience is very different from the character's, so I can't say that I can sympathize either. I can't "share his pain." But with what they give you of his life and motivation, you can kind of see how he got from point A to point B. Empathy rather than Sympathy. You may not agree with his logic, but you can kind of see how he got there. It might not be an ideal jumping off point, but it's enough to work with. If they hadn't killed Killmonger off, he could have become a more multifaceted, and thereby a more sympathetic character through his redemption arc, as we learn more about him, and as he became Black Panther and the protector of Wakanda. I think Michael B Jordan could have handled that well. And who doesn't love a villain redemption arc? Vegeta's not a better character than Goku for no reason!
I would have love to see the movie you described with Killmonger. It would start as a 'deal with the devil' kind of thing, then we would see the characters gradually change, gaining new perspectives.
@@Bia-mp6mi Exactly! It could have worked really well as a course correction in Boseman's absence. Character development, reformed villain, all good stuff! Too much to hope for from Disney's MCU though...
What you describe could never happen given the outright racial hate that was black panther. The entire premise of the film was white people bad so let’s kill them and take over. How exactly do you go from that to protecting everyone which includes white people? Remember it’s Disney writers that can’t even produce a remake or comic book movie when everything is laid out in front of them so them writing a coherent story about a black racist turning civilised would be like Moses parting the Red Sea... impossible

I actually like Aztec Namor, I think it's a good spin. But I'm VERY concerned: > They seem to be handling Chadwick's death respectfully in the film, but can Letitia Wright (and Shuri as a character) carry the franchise? > If she can't and they make it an ensemble cast, will the film get too watered down by having too many character arcs for once minor characters? > The press tour of this movie had the cast praising DEI... how aggressive will the "MESSage" be? > The CGI... I know trailers are "unfinished" but some of it looks spotty and there will be TWO high tech cities to create. Will the CGI artist survive phase 4? I would NOT want to be on this film's marketing team. It's such a hard sell.
The Aztecs really did have a legend about how their people came from an island in a "big lake" that sank. I wish he looked more like the character though...and less jewelry, jeez.
Well, it would be interesting to watch him torture and kill a small child, and harvest the tears as he did so. But I am guessing that whoever wrote this never bothered reading about them in the slightest. They were the most horrifying culture in history, which is why there was a gigantic war upon them by almost every other tribe, and the Spanish tipped the balance. But they are never, ever going to admit that a brown skinned person can be evil.
These guys are trying really hard to hate this film (which they haven’t even seen yet). They’ve almost become caricatures of themselves at this point. Will be great to come back here and laugh when the movie inevitably breaks $1 billion and gets overwhelming audience praise.
You're skipping over the small fact that T'Challa trained since a young child in fighting styles to be prepared to take on the role of protector of the country. The flower juice takes him from a badass fighter to a superhero, but you can't give it to a helpless goof (ala Mega Mind and Hal) and suddenly he/she will be a great fighter and ultra powerful. Without the formula, T'Challa still defeated the head of the "Gorilla" tribe and then fought a guy who was a highly trained mercenary with more kills than any other person in the US Special Forces. So yeah, the 5' 100lb Shuri who's really smart isn't going to throw on the costume and protect shit. They should have thrown money and Jordan to come back and used the idea that before he died they put him in a hibernation chamber where they planned to revive him one day to face justice for his crimes. Then he comes out and sees Wakanda about to fall and finds the will to do the greater good.
Considering the modern world's collective attitude, Chadwick's passing, and Phase 4 so far, I will say that I'm not as hopeful as I would like to be for this.
Considering it doesn't have: - The charisma appeal of Chadwick the Chad Boseman - The novelty the first film had - The hype the MCU had pre-InfinityWar/Endgame - Other quality MCU films surrounding it in phase 3. In other words, phase 4 is a wreck, so who cares about the new releases, really... At least the director, composer, and writers are back - which were a clear positive of the first film. If anything, that's the only reason I may watch it with my pirate hat on, but I suspect it will be a wokepalooza of strong female characters and political lecturing...
It's so funny how people can have such different opinions about a person. I found Boseman's acting to be extremely wooden and totally lacking in charisma, especially in BP, but also in 21 Bridges. I'm happy you liked his acting, I just don't see it.
@@BlyGuy Oh don't get me wrong, I don't think he was a stellar actor, I just think his presence on screen was more than enough to carry the role. The guy definitely had something. Acting skills? Maybe. But something nonetheless.

Who's asking you to keep mourning? This film was made by people who did know him. Think about it from their perspective and stop with all the me, me, me.
You know, I wasn't going to immediately write the film off because Chadwick wasn't in it, but so far, from the questionable CGI, to the needless changes to Namor's background and character, to Riri William's very existence here, I'd be shocked if this film is even half as Oscarworthy as the critic scores are making it out to be.
There have been insane changes to ALL the MCU characters but glad we're using racist criteria where THIS film needs to be just like the comics thanks on the bias

@@thatguywhodoesstuff1432 I've never seen a person shill so much for a movie before. But you take it to a whole new level. Without Boseman and with all the identity politics shoved into it, this movie is DOA.
i’m starting to hate when new characters are shown and established characters state “I like him/her”. Marvel is really trying to shove it down my throat and it makes me reflexively resistant
On the 'It's their culture' argument. All I can think of is a quote from Hendrik M. Broder, a german/jewish publicist. (translated by me) "Culture is when you kill your neighbor and make a bowl out of his skull. If you go to jail for that and never come out again, thats called civilization."
Or another quote if I remember it was from a colonial official to a Hindu priest who complained about the ban on widow burnings . The official said in my land we hang men who do that
The absolute worst thing about Chadwick Boseman's death is, I remember before he died, there was already talks to start moving the woke Marvel stuff into the movies more (Natalie Portperson, Kamala Khan, etc), and one such move was they wanted T'Challa to step down from the Black Panther title and pass that on to Shuri, relegating Boseman into the role of a side-character in his own franchise. Essentially, imagine if 'Iron Man 3' ended with Tony giving his Iron Man suit to that kid he met while he was on the run, and that kid became the new Iron Man for the rest of the MCU onwards. So obviously Boseman pushed back against it, which is one of the reasons the movie took so long to actually get off the ground. They couldn't make it without him (which is darkly hilarious since that's what they ended up having to do), but he refused to film it unless he was kept as the star. Bit egotistical but I can't blame him, and more power to him for standing his ground. ...then he died. And as tragic as it is, the thing that sickens me is, I just know that an entire room full of Disney executives and slick-haired corporate types were high-fiving and popping champagne bottles when they heard about it, because finally they could make the film without him trying to stop them. He was the one thing standing in their way to make the movie, and once he was dead, they could forget about him and move on. You'll be hard pressed to find any articles about it these days, the internet has been graciously scrubbed of anything contrary to 'THE MESSAGE', but I assure you it was real. Months before Boseman's death, there were articles about his staunch refusal to step down from the lead role of the series and hand it over to some relative nobody, after he had basically carried the 'Black Panther' title on his back since 'Civil War' in 2016. Without him, the franchise wouldn't be there. But Disney were pushing hard for 'THE MESSAGE' and wanted Shuri in the role... and as said, I just know that the second the news broke he was dead, Disney executives were lighting up the cigars and chuckling about how their problems were all over. I don't have any feelings on Boseman one way or another, he was a fine actor but that's about all I can say... but honestly, seeing how they treated him in 'Wakanda Forever', I honestly think he'd be sickened.
I think the answer all depends on the definition (or at least the perspective) of success; I don't think this movie will actually be as good as the first due to many factors such as Marvel fatigue, lack of Chadwick B., and just the general nature that sequel movies don't do as well as the original in terms of substance and quality. However, because of of Chadwick's death and that is still a Marvel product you can bet this movie will make stupid amounts of cash so I think ultimately the term 'success' is relative.
I'm hoping its good! Loved Chadiwck Boseman, so I hope they do a good job of making a great story/film instead of drowning it in whatever messaging they decide.
No way, even from a non-hater perspective. Its hardcore women-only push is enough to deter mainstream audiences, who grew to expect Black Panther to be male-lead. 2 Hours and 40 minute runtime reduces possible screenings, and if the movie stumbles even a little bit in quality, word of mouth will spread fast and the box office will drop just like Thor and Doctuh Strange did.
Thor Ragnarok is still the highest grossing Thor movie. And I think it more or less depends. I don’t think the hardcore women only push will affect the box office as much as one would think.

I think where they fail to capitalize on Chadwick's passing is the fact he's not in this movie. It's not a Paul Walker F&F deal where he died mid film so that was literally the last you'd see of him. He's not in it at all. Atleast 2 films and a tv show with him were released since his death which, atleast to me, served as his farewell. Da 5 Bloods, What If and Ma Rainy were pretty much his send off films as far as I'm concerned. I don't need to give Disney 20 bucks to pay my respects. So them resting this movie on his legacy is gonna miss the mark for me. Also, how often do they think people are gonna pay to cry at a mediocre movie? That second week drop is gonna be biblical. If this movie fails to provide anything of substance beyond a chadwick memorial it is going to have no legs whatsoever.
Agreed that Black Panther stole the show in that movie, but THE BEST has to go to either Winter Soldier or Infinity War imo. Still, really good! The ending was a great twist and a very defining character moment.
Bucky Barnes should be the next black panther, change my mind. He lived in Wakanda for years, they gave him a new metal arm, he trained with them and has had combat training longer than anyone. Since they took captain America from him. Or here's a thought, make bucky captain america and falcon can be black panther.
They did have a plan at the time of Empire Strikes back to replace Han Solo with Lando. See the odd scene toward the end where Lando wears Han Solo's clothes.
Han doesn’t have much to do in RotJ after his rescue, so I don’t think much would have been lost by him dying at the end of Empire. Lando taking up the fight could have been good, a promising newly established character to properly build up and explore
Honestly I haven’t watched anything by Disney gosh I believe close to two years now and I’m going to continue that record because honestly I wouldn’t care of Disney just suddenly disappeared
about Shuri, seeing her as the new Black Panther, at first, didn't sound like a bad idea to me, even she being an annoying character in the previous movies. One could look at her case as similar to that of Dr Strange in the first movie. He was also an insufferable arrogant know-all character that grown and became, at the time, my best bet for a new leader of the avengers (yeah, too much inocense). In this new BP, Shuri even has an easier start for her arc, as the tragic event that would force her to be the hero her nation needs already happened (the death of the former BP). The thing is, I really doubt that the writers and showrunners will give a compelling story with a engaging arc for her to become the new BP, because Hollywood doesn't seem to know how to write female development arcs these days.
@@SumDumGy what I’m saying is that the film Black Panther, much like Captain Marvel after it, was just before a highly anticipated movie and gave the impression that it was important to watch it if you wanted to understand the upcoming Avengers film.
"Can Wakanda Forever succeed like Black Panther?" I no longer care since I was told that I should not watch it or discuss it by SJWs. I'll wait until its free on the internet
I think this movie would’ve been a good opportunity to jump forward a decent amount of time after the avengers and how the world has changed. Like a good futuristic movie ya know?
Black Panther isn't some political SJW thing. Africans are more Conservative than actual Conservative Americans. The First movie was about African Conservatism, and the second movie is following that, still but with women, after they lose their King. You just mad because it's not following your Eurocentric views. In Africa, we have had female leaders
Watched the first film with my girlfriend before I’d been entirely red pilled. At the time I was utterly mystified as to why it was so apparently well reviewed. I thought it was yet another below average superhero film amongst the next hundred or so. Now of course I understand the wildly overblown reception it had.
No. You also can't wear white. Also, no mayonnaise in the theatre since YOU PEOPLE love that stuff. Oh, and if you come on time instead of at least 30min late, you have to pay us all an extra 5 bucks.
black panther was created by a white man, the character doesn't belong to black ppl... or even white it doesn't matter, this whole thing is stupid who should watch and who shouldn't watch the shit.
All they needed to do would be for Shuri to take the mantle, struggle, fail, Kilmonger comes back to take the mantle. Too easy. Shuri joins a B superhero team as "the smart one" while Kilmonger joins Fantastic 4 and main team. Wasn't the original plan but it works
Can I just say it's kinda weird how people are all set canonize Chadwick Boseman as some kind of saint? Yeah he did a good job playing the character, but he was just an actor playing a part.
I saw the WF toys at Target. It’s all female action figures plus a Namor. That’s a BAD sign. My prediction is strong opening and then a CLIFF. I saw a male POC review it and he was crestfallen. There’s strong Ghostbusters 2016 vibes being ignored by the press.
The trailer I saw, had some guy on the edge of a cliff or something, roaring and banging his chest like freaking King Kong. It just made me roll my eyes.
They’re gonna use Chadwick’s death as a reason why no one can say a bad word about it. Every review I’ve seen alllll say how “emotional” it is. Anddd of course at the end we all know the little girls are gonna come in as save the day. Can’t wait 😑 after the first weekend that is. Remember now, if you’re not black your racist if you rush to see it 👍🏻
I'm hoping that in the final confrontation, when all hope seems lost, Suri saves the day by breaking the fourth wall and asking us if this is working for us or not, then climbs through the screen somehow to the Marvel opening scroll, enters that into a hallway and walks to the writer's room, and gets them to change the movie script right there such that it all works out in the end. Classic, epic ending for the ages.
The one thing I will never forget about Chadwick Boseman is the picture of him visiting children in the cancer ward while he himself was there being treated for cancer. What a splendid human being he was. RIP.
Now that's a King.
Definitely a man with class to the end.
RIP
It's George Floyd all over again they love marketing black martyrs.

The guy was a damn good actor too. Loved him as Jackie Robinson.
Tropic Thunder got it right again. "And we'll weep for him... in the press. Eventually, and I'm talkin way way down the road, we file an insurance claim." See that movie was a comedy. In that context it was very funny. But in reality, what a poisonous mindset to maximize exploitation of someone's death.
the mouse probably off'd him
My favorite thing about this is that they cast a brown man for "diversities sake" to replace Namor, however they didn't even think 2 seconds to realize that a Mayan individual wouldn't have a Spanish accent simply because they existed pre-colonization.
They could have figured out this accent just fine"
That's kinda not how it works.
Accent is much more nebulous than language is, and it can change much more rapidly with an influx of immigrants.
(the average New York accent was likely very different prior to the Italian and Irish immigrations into the area)
Look at how many English accents the US has just along its eastern seaboard!
(incidentally England itself is much smaller and has a bucket load of accents)
The same thing applies to south America - the old Mayan regional accents are likely forever altered (if not outright displaced) by the Spanish colonial immigrations to the area bringing their own accents.
Not to mention, it's a movie about a war that's caused by brown people crossing their strongly guarded border...

More thought into that post then the entire writer’s room for She-Hulk.
Would've made a excellent what if episode
That would have meant writing accountability into it. Judging by today's "Modern Society" that would be problematic.
It would require effort for those writers to think this idea of yours
This idea will probably be better than the actual film 🤣
Well, considering:
* Chadwick’s gone
* Them not doing the easy (hard to accept) way and recast T’Challa
* The new “Na-More”
* Ironheart’s introduction
* Shuri’s new stance in all of this
* This being the finale of the worst Phase
Nope, I don’t think it has a chance to even living up to the first film
And the first one was average at best.
@@chasehedges6775 oh, I’m on that stance too
Not even seen it, saw the CG and thought nah, I'll pass.
I dunno. I don't think recasting T'Challa would be *_"easy"_* at all tbh.
In fact, the idea reminds me of Rhodey (Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle) but *_EVEN WORSE._*
What they honestly should do is make Shuri the Black Panther temporarily, *_(something she does when T'Challa is put into a coma, IN A BETTER STORY.)_* and then hand it off to either M'Baku *(Because there have been Black Panthers not of the Royal Family)* or another Killmonger.
Remember it’s Disney writers that can’t even produce a remake or comic book movie when everything is laid out in front of them so them writing a coherent story about a black racist turning civilised would be like Moses parting the Red Sea... impossible

> They seem to be handling Chadwick's death respectfully in the film, but can Letitia Wright (and Shuri as a character) carry the franchise?
If you can't market a film with a pretty "interesting" premise than frankly you're just not a good marketer.

Or another quote if I remember it was from a colonial official to a Hindu priest who complained about the ban on widow burnings . The official said in my land we hang men who do that
I feel like the silence on this release speaks volumes
I just hope they make it suitable for modern audiences and that it sends a strong message while also subverting our expectations.

If this movie fails to provide anything of substance beyond a chadwick memorial it is going to have no legs whatsoever.

about Shuri, seeing her as the new Black Panther, at first, didn't sound like a bad idea to me, even she being an annoying character in the previous movies.
