Good morning, Jim and Robin! I’ve added McGolf videos to my morning regimen.
A great way to start a day! Coffee with the McCleery‘s, lol.
You have been a mentor to so many of us.
Both you and Robin are generous and you share what you’ve learned with total strangers.
    I’m grateful.
    (Stan from central Florida.).

Love your channel - it's my lifeline lately since I've become a problem thrift store buyer

S2H2 Double Dot (13*) used to be a holy grail of three woods for better players in the late 1990's and early 2000's, that and the Titleist PT. Actually Dick Helmstetter, who used to design pool ques, came up with the Short Straight Hollow Hosel design. Ely was a great marketing and sales guy , but he knew little about clubs except how to sell them for $300.00 ! The S2H2 is a .335 tip , Callaway did not start using a .350" until the Hawkeye and Steelhead series of woods. The "paint' is actually a clear coat, when the heads came out they where tumbled and because they had to put more finishing work into the bore thru clear coat was a time saving alternative due to cure time and masking.

Oh wow. S2H2 Double Dot with the RCH 36 Pro Series. That's about as 1990's Tour Issue Holy Grail as it gets.

You are a Master! Thanks for all of your work! I have this very club and has been string for 30 years. They were lost and recently found. I happened to see this Video and became very excited to know they can be repaired! It is a 3+ wood a little longer.

Had the same head. Got it from a SPGA player. Used it for many years and was great off the tee.

I used to enjoy doing all the bore through stuff Jim. Being able to rip out the RCH without damaging the heads gave me an advantage over most shops here. I tapered the pins off more too, so that it inserted deeper into the shaft...just made that connection a little mote mechanical and solid than with standard pins which I felt had too much taper and possibly could show more epoxy than I liked.
I used to use the .350" shafts too unless my clients wanted a more regularly available.335" and then the adapter from Golfsmith or Works similar to the one you used 👍
Those and the War Bird heads are still some of the easiest fairway woods to hit that Callaway (or anyone else for that matter) have ever made...I quite miss them, and the work they brought in 😂😂😂

Hello sir! Quick question: have you ever heard of anyone using expandable foam (such as comes in aerosol cans at Home Depot) to fill golf shafts as a vibration damper? If not, do you think it would be feasible? Many thanks!

i have a ping anser 2 putter that needs a new shaft and grip-the shaft is damaged. my fitter says it has to be sent to ping but that's gonna take ages to get back. it's a part of my collection-not a gamer.

Well done Jim. Question: Could you have used a shim in getting the desired size? Congrats on the 79 once again.

    • @McGolf

I could have used the shim then it would have left brass as part of the design on the bore thru
