Mishima's "Temple of the Golden Pavilion" worth reading?

  • Hi everybody, it has been a while since I posted a video. I've been very busy with my first series, Eclipse on Virgo, the first volume of which is on sale. I finally had some help and was able to make this video. I read Kinkakuji (Temple of the Golden Pavilion) more than 10 years ago, so please pardon any imprecision.
I haven't made much progress in the Witcher series due to the weight of my writing load. It's extremely difficult to have a full-time job while trying to write a book series. If you'd like to help me out so I can make more youtube reviews, one way that would make a big difference would be by supporting my writing either by reviewing or purchasing She Beyond Sun or Eclipse on Virgo.

Great video man, I literally just finished this book about half an hour ago, it's the 4th Mishima I've read, I definitely prefer some of his more linear, moment to moment writing. But nonetheless it was an enjoyable read with some interesting ideas.

When I was 18 I read everything on Yukio Mishima that I could. I went really overboard, I loved his writing so much! I even wrote my college thesis about his insurrection event. I think that you made a really insightful point, it has a very different pace and structure. It’s not my favorite of his books, but that’s not a factor that matters to me, I do find it beautiful and interesting.

It’s probably way too obvious! I’ll try to review some other of his books soon :)

I would think of Philip Glass' score of one of the books adapted for A Life in Four Chapters.

@Nirrini, yes I love GANTZ and at some point I have been hoping to make a video discussing my favorite story arc within GANTZ--I'll give you a hint, it takes place in a Buddhist temple.

@@DanielGargallo Ahh, that arc was so wild!! I’m glad you love Gantz too.
