  • The purpose of this talk is to provide a physiological basis for understanding the function of the ECS and how genetics and diet influence endocannabinoid tone. From the physiological basis of the ECS this presentation will build upon the pharmacology and pharmacogenomics to provide rationale for determining the most effective clinical approach to endocannabinoid therapies. Polymorphisms in the genes for the component enzymes and receptors of the ECS can influence the clinical outcome of cannabinoid therapies. One poignant example of this are ultra-fast variants of CYP2C9 are poor candidates for oral consumption of Delta-9-THC due to the rapid conversion of Delta-9-THC into 11-OH-THC. 11-OH-THC is poorly tolerated due to intensity of euphoric effect and long terminal plasma half-life (up to 72 hours).

It is also amazing that much higher doses of ThC release AEA that jump backwards across the synapse to close the CA+ channel which prevents ROS from destroying our cells. Your diagram is missing the last half of the process.

You should listen to someone else who isn’t kinda wrong for political purposes lol. He skipped over the second half of the neuronal response of CB1. Once the neurotransmitters/modulators attach to the dentrites of the next neuron, that neuron release AEA which travels backwards across the synapse to close the CA+ channels of the firing cells. This prevents ROS from getting into the cells and destroying them.

I believe Dr. Dedi Meiri would strongly disagree with the statement of "Cannabis does not kill cancer" and "its broscience" because of his research in Israel.

I like this presentation. However I think the stance on cannabis science as potential cancer treatment is a little needlessly negative.
Dr. David (Dedi) Meiri and his team in Israel have demonstrated that certain strains of cannabis are more effective at killing cancer cells than current practiced methods. Not 'bro' science and you shouldn't walk away if someone wants to discuss it, that's just childish and ignorant.

I feel its more of a ass cover statement because MORE research needs to be done. I cant tell you how many times a pill got thru to help your heart burn but will give you cancer in 15 years. If we want to saw we do the opposite I want that statement to be tested. That being said I also feel like we can expedite cannabis as a true medication as we have plenty of people who have been smoking for 10+ years, no it wont be definitive because of the untracked variables of exatily what and how much will never be known . These people are still a valuable resource for our scientists to learn from and study.

I gree in concept but nuts in general have a much higher omega6 to 3 ratio. Pink fish would be a much better option and doesnt have antinutrients either. Then theres how its processed.. And how can you trust the stability of oils that knowingly break apart easily? (They have more weak double bonds). I think we need to be careful with nuts as it becomes the replacement for flour. Slightly more ancestrally appropriate but we ate mostly fatty meat.
