Thats kinda like me playing with my pair of Rankins. Would love to have Ackies one day. Rankins have a huge cute factor. Ackies have more of a cool factor being like tiny Komodo dragons. :) Both species have great personality.
So wish I had the space to accommodate ackies until then my cresties, chahouas , E.Agricolae and tarantulas will more than do haha . Paul invest in envro film for your conservatory glass . Can easily apply it yourself mate will keep temps easily managed especially come summer time
@@BenshobbyStuff hopefully not as ‘fat’ as mine As I got him over weight and hard to shift! But that’s great yours is social, best part of ackies if you ask me :)
@@paulsmonitors yeah only had mine thursday night at 8.30pm pouring down rain and the van driver got lost so we had to jump in the car and go find him. baby ackie was freezing cold as the heat pad had run out, he warmed up slowly then ate 3 roaches and he hasnt eaten since. he is pooping normal though. just a bit worried but i think its due to the stress of the journey, should have been in a heated van if it was up to me mate.. hopefully he takes a roach today if not i have locusts to try him with coming the morrow, fingers are crossed
@@BenshobbyStuff I wouldn’t stress mate Sometimes the don’t eat for a week or He’s had food So that’s good! This is much bigger than a leopard gecko, Leo’s are 8-10 inches this is 24 inches But there are lots of species of dwarf monitors Some being smaller than leos 😮
I wish more people would consider ackies over beardies. So much more awesomeness for roughly the same amount of work, just different care.
Yeah they need alot more mental stimulation than beardies but I do agree!
I don’t have that much money
@@paulsmonitors I 100% agree.
Yeah the price point is what keeps people away legit over 400 bucks a piece while bearded dragons you can get for 100 or less.
@@darkmode867 uk I sell mine for £100, they’re worth the money imo

What a beautiful Ackie!
Beautiful coloring.
Lively and Curious! Awesome!
Soooo true!!! This loving energy

Don't ever underestimate the bite force of a Monitor. Their jaw pressure is ridiculously powerful.
Just a question, what’s the size for an ackies enclosure?? For a female adult
So dopeee I was recently into king dwarf monitors but those are hard to get. Seems like ackies are a good choice as well!
Kings see cool, not as interactive as ackies
Beautiful! His skin is like corduroy.
I want one but will have to wait for a year or 2. How does their bite feel?
Not fun, but they don’t really bite when socialised
Cutest Ackie on TH-cam
😍
When I get space for another reptile I would like to get an ackie. I saw some babies at a expo there so cute 😍
Is he venomous/has poison?
awww I would have had one of those if they weren’t carnivores
Would you consider these an intermediate pet lizard?
With enough research a beginner
I cant wait to get mine ;u; but taming her is going to be a project for me.

I’ll check it out! I have same ‘issue’ no space until stuff passes
They remind me of ferrets
Sure are 😂
Awesome socializing
Thank you 🫡🫡
Aloh aloh baoh baoh ah
How old is the ackie ?
6
@@paulsmonitors oh ok Thankyou
Ackies are the best
Bro I cant wait till Im at this point with Syd. Took a step back in his socializing when I switched his enclosure but hes coming around again.
All takes time and it’s annoying as we do stuff for them and they don’t reward us!
@@paulsmonitors ya I got a small pop corn machine for while I wait. Just make popcorn and sit. 😂

What is the best enclosure for 1 of these guys? I’ve heard 6x3x3 are good. Is that true?
Yeah would be amazing for one, you can get away with 6x2x2 as a minimum
Or even 5x2x3
But 6x3x3 would be amazing
