Was Pretty excited about getting my hands on this Leatherman!
MagnaCut Blade and true one handed operation along with the bit driver! almost the perfect tool. Only thing I would change is replace the scissors with a serrated edge blade, but overall I think this is probably the new KING in the multitool world!!

I just cancelled my order from REI after learning the hard cutter issue, I will wait for the issue to be rectified and then order. Victorinox MX clip is my trusted and favourite MT as of now with these advantages - chisel/package opener, better rust resistance, better can opener, ergonomic handle, uncoated knife, cheaper, more robust build, no big hole on the file, more variety of wire stripper, shinny finish. Hopefully the hard cutter issue can rectify fast and I can have another excellent MT. And if leather can add measuring cm and inch scale on the edge:)

The additional pocket clip holes don't help us lefties at all. They would need to be on the opposite side of the same arm in order to clip into the corner of the pocket. That's not really a big deal, though. The big issue for lefties is needing to use our middle finger to open the knife one handed instead of our thumb. They will never make a true lefty tool, but maybe one day, the positions of the large tools can be swapped without needing to modify the tool and voiding the warranty. But I'm not holding my breath. We're an adaptable ~10% of the population, so we'll be alright.

You got that right - we are adaptable and I have been somewhat ambidextrous since childhood. I believe it's because they made us use those shity, thick handled, rubber-coated scissors in grade school. What the actual f***? Why would lefties need big thick rubber coated scissor handles? We're left-handed, we're not left-handed Fiddler crabs! (Or whatever type of crab it is that has one giant claw and one not so big one.)

A difficult choice between the Leatherman Wave and the Leatherman Arc. The Arc is easier to open and access the tools. The best add on is a sight adjuster bit extender. This has a magnetic bit holder that works absolutely fine with standard 1/4” hex bits and the Leatherman bits. The Arc blade is less aggressive looking compared to the Wave, so a bit more friendly when used in public. The Arc is worth the extra expense in my opinion, but the Wave is a good second option that won’t let you down.

Check out the timestamp 13:21, where you can see that one pliers jaw is thicker than the other.
I just checked out my ARC and I have the same problem, but perhaps not as bad as this guy's pliers. I consider this to be a MUCH bigger deal than the replaceable wire cutters, because other videos have shown that if you simply cut the wire more forward from The Gap at the very rear of the pliers, they cut normally and do not Bend or break.
And anyway, the wire cutters are replaceable and I've heard that Leatherman is sending out free replacements, whereas the Jaws are basically the main part of the tool and are not replaceable, except under the warranty. And from what I've learned dealing with Leatherman's customer service on other issues, I find their customer service department to be overworked, under-resourced and unwilling to do enough to make things right for the customer.
I'm a first-time Leatherman owner but I've been using tools for 50 plus years. By the way, Victorinox is Swiss Army knives don't come with defects. Full stop.

This is not a problem with the wire cutters specific to the ARC. Somewhat recently Leatherman must have changed manufacturer for the replaceable wire cutters. All newly manufactured Leatherman with replaceable wire cutters have this issue. I have a Charge + Ti that I got over the summer and it has the same issue.

I agree, all tools of this size will have some frame flex if you reap on them hard enough.
I did a torture test on the bit driver on the wave and was able to break the bit driver far before the frame broke.
Also I had to use a torque wench, I was unable to break either the frame, or bit driver by hand.
we need to keep the intended use case of a tool in mind when we evaluate these things, everything will break if you try hard enough.

This was a sub-par review. Basically everything you said was incorrect.
Leatherman's Arc demonstrated a LACK OF attention to detail, and a LACK OF quality control. Virtually every item on the Arc illustrates those 2 features, from the smooth frame, to the useless profile of the dull magnacut blade. Every visible part of the Arc is sub-par. Your failure to note these things is alarming, but speaks volumes for the uselessness of your reviews. Every minute watching your review was a wasted minute of time.
The ONLY things you got remitely right were that the Arc should have had a serrated blade, the slot in the file is a detriment, that Leatherman's flat bits cross models, and that the magnacut blade should not be used for some things.

Jeez this is unnecessarily harsh. And it sounds like you've already thoroughly made up your mind about the tool, so I'm not even sure why you're watching reviews anyway if you know everything. There's constructive criticism, and then there are comments that say more about the writer than this creator.

@@Digimorphosis I won't pretend that his review was OK, when it clearly wasn't. Should I treat him like a special needs child, lie, and say he did a great job? No. I'm going to give it to him straight. Hopefully, he will do more thorough reviews in the future. I actually took my time to explain what he did wrong. He can choose to benefit and improve, or to look like a bumbling, idiotic dufus.
As for you, are you seriously encouraging videos of such poor quality? I have high standards. You ovbiously do not.
I watched the video, hoping for a new perspective, or some new piece of information, or anything justifying the existence of the video. This video had none of that. I can't even call it a re-hash of previously-disseminated info, because this was just a video for the sake of making a video, like a "webmaster" managing to get "Hello world" to show on their web site. The creator clearly had no experience with the product whatsoever, and was generally clueless about the subject of their video, both in this specific instance and in general.
I was not harsh, but I certainly could be. I was truthful and factual. Do I need to use smaller words and simpler ideas, to help you understand?
As for the creator, if he releases a quality review video (as I hope he does), and I am as effusive in my praise as I was in my disdain, will you then reply that I went overboard in that regard? Somehow, I think not. If you go out in public with TP hanging out of your pants and your fly unzipped, should I say nothing (and let people laugh at you), or would you rather I let you know ASAP?
As viewers, it is important that we acknowledge the videos that are released, at least for creators we want to continue to provide content. It is also important that we tell them what we like and don't like, to help them improve. This helps the creator release videos that will draw more viewers, more views, and more replies. Likely, my view and my reply contributed to his revenue. I could have just given his video a thumbs down (which I did not), rather than taking my time to explain what I actually did not like about his video. But sure, if the creator would prefer, I could just give him a thumbs down, which is a cowardly, unhelpful thing to do.

@@googleuser6635 What I said has nothing to do with not having high standards and it's totally fine if you didn't like this video. I don't know this guy so I have no skin in the game. When you use words like "waste of time" and start throwing phrases into all caps it makes you sound angry, and I think that's how a lot of people would read it. If you don't think the video offered any fresh perspectives and you don't think reviews like that are a service to the tool community that's fine and I wouldn't take that away from you or begrudge that. All I was trying to say was that your initial comment felt a little bit more like a personal attack than trying to offer real criticism about the video like you had some kind of personal stake in it. In that regard, that's where I do have high standards in how people should discuss content. To be fair to you, one area I wish reviews like this would offer more insight on is to actually depict the tool being used. It's fine to give some initial impressions but that's not necessarily that helpful for somebody else if it's not clear the reviewer has ever actually used the tool for real tasks that a person who would buy it would use it for, and I can agree with your sentiments there. But I guess if it were me I would have gone another way with how I said that. That was all I was trying to get at as a remark to your comment. I'm not advocating people should cheer on "bad" content that doesn't deserve it. But all the same, it's just as easy to be needlessly hurtful to someone while offering "real talk" and I wouldn't advocate for that, either. You could've said something like, "This tool seems to have a lot of design flaws that you didn't mention, and the video would've been stronger if you'd actually depicted the tool being used. That way we could see for sure if these design flaws come to light in that usage or not, and we could all learn more." To each their own, I guess.

@@Digimorphosis Trust me, that was not harsh. I am fully capable of making harsh replies, and that was just a prod. Not gentle, I admit, but hopefully enough to make my point. It surely got your attention.
Any time someone starts off their video with comments that are demonstrably, historically, and factually false, my reaction will not be positive. Such careless, ininformed, and ignorant narrative clearly shows the creator to be a person who does not value truth, accuracy, and knowledge. This entire video was based on falsehoods, ignorance, and assumptions.
I have to ask, did you address these issues with the creator, or did your standards allow this to pass, and you only took umbrage with my comment? If only with me, my assumption about you is a reality.
