    Dear Robby - good to see you still ripping along in style, i remember you, Pete Cabrinha, Fred Haywood & Jenna De Rosnay when i first got into windsurfing 40 years back here in the UK. Hope life is treating you well and you're keeping safe. Loving your videos....regards Peter

    Thanks a lot for this awesome video Robby, especially for naming the equipment you are using so we can see the setup. Btw, most of us mere mortals would consider 22 knots on a wing/foil FAST! : )

    Due to some personal issues , I fell away from windsurfing for quite a few years. This advancement in technology is just staggering. This is the first I have ever seen this. Amazing. I can't wait to get out there and try this. And I can carry it all in a small car...btw, pulled out the VCR to watch RIP - still just as great as ever. Robby Naish hasn't changed a bit in 30 years as far as I can tell.

      Seems like it, the advantage is u can move a lot more and control ur balance on the foil, but with a normal surffoil its pretty slow and more relaxed then windfoiling for example, just try it its definitly fun and different!

    I would ditch the touch screen smart watch. It tends to be a bit too fiddly in water. Go for something like a Garmin Fenix or comparable. Sturdy as hell too! I’ve had a Fenix 3 for the last 5 or 6 years and it’s been through all sorts of hell (from the backwaters of Gallipoli to the Netherlands during Storm Francis)....Not a scratch.

    Looks like fun.
    How hard is it to learn compared to windsurfing?
    Do you need a foil or is that optional?
    What is min wind speed?
    Where can I get one?

    • @dr.ericvanek2818
      @dr.ericvanek2818 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll answer from my point of view (20yrs of kitesurfing, some windsurfing)- if you have tons of wind you do not need a foil, but the foil helps you get out in light wind, I would say its easier to learn than windsurfing because the gear is light & is trying to pull you up out of the water (windsurfing gear is by default heavy and pulling down toward the water when you are off balance)- very minimum is 10mph of wind, but for us mortals closer to 15mph is better

  • @ja6920
    @ja6920 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    do the arms get tired, is there a harness you can use to attach to the board?

  • @kevinmoore4887
    @kevinmoore4887 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Awesome demo. I was wondering what the best windsurfer did when needing new challenges. A friend went to kite foils.
    Questions, can you hook in a harness?
    Looks like a harness lines.
    How do you keep the sail from blowing away in a crash? Hold on no matter what.

    • @RayJordan
      @RayJordan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The wing is held onto your wrist with a coiled leash. One on an ankle also. As soon as you let go the wing will lose all power and stay attached to your wrist leash, you won't feel any power.
