Controlling the arch when executing a Layout
A layout is when you go from your back to your belly by going over your head.
In one smooth motion, you are going to visit 3 different orientations: Back, head down and belly.
The key for developing a smooth layout resides in the “head down” part of the layout.
When you initiate the transition from your back, you should aim at transitioning on your head, not your belly. By doing this, you will adopt a posture that is conducive to the head down orientation and so give you more control during this part of the move.
If your sole focus is to get on your belly, then you’re going to adopt a belly posture while being upside down and that is absolutely not conducive to control the head down part of the layout. In fact, you will sabotage any chance you have to be smooth and put yourself at risk of smashing the glass.
When practicing layout, you should not arch at all. Simply because you don’t need to. Like I mentioned earlier, your goal is to go from your back to a head down shelf position. Arching is a posture you don’t need to visit during this stage of the layout. From a static back fly position, a slight extension of the hips and legs is more than enough to generate the lift necessary to execute the transition.
It might not be what you wanna hear but the truth is, mastering layout is challenging. But if we can fix your movement patterns, then we can focus on the flying.

I hear you and take the criticism. It's important to remember that the audience for this video are beginners who cannot yet execute layouts. At this level, my statement about the execution is correct, an arch body is absolutely not conducive to the transition over head. :)
