    This was great at explaining why it would be a bad idea to workout immediately following a meal. The parasympathetic nervous system is constricting air flow in order to allow the body to digest, meaning it would be harder to breathe if someone tried to increase physical activity after eating. Thank you, great video!

      @@bridgeteddie148 a couple hours after eating is best. It shouldn't really effect your breathing, but the exercise will stimulate sympathetic activity so digestion can be poor if exercising soon after eating.

    Your website is not free but it seems your TH-cam channel is free and I can't thank you enough for being here and helping students like me who can't afford even low membership prices! I'm living in Iran and even don't have internet connection most of the times due to current protests.
    I can get connected to TH-cam just twice a week and just a couple of minutes ago, I was thinking how to do my university assignment as the internet speed is overwhelmingly slow to the extent that I can't open any websites!!! I tried to connect to TH-cam and I accidently could connect and watched a couple of your free videos! Now I'm able to write my assignment and that's thanks to you.
    Please don't forget people like me and continue to make FREE contents. ✨❤🙏

    If you turn on english captions at 7:46 it says " is where that sweet sweet blood is".
    Other than that it is a very informative video. Thank you!

      I'd assume that the mucus elevators would catch it and carry it up, where you'd swallow it or cough it back up.

    Honeslty, this is exactly what I have been looking for. I cannot tell you how many videos I come across that try and explain the the process of the systems using little stories and making the organs talk to each other like they are characters from a book. Oh my god I can't!!! thank you so much for realizing I am not a child and just need a straightforward answer!!

    Not much physiology on lung capacity

    • @osmosis
      @osmosis  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Claire, thanks for the feedback! This video was just meant to be an introduction to the topic, and we made a judgment call to treat that subject lightly. That said, we do have a video specifically on lung capacities and volumes. If you'd like to watch it you can access that video, and all of our unreleased videos, with an Osmosis Prime subscription.
