@@markuptontrumpet Thank you Mr Upton. Terrific for this 80-year-old codger to see someone with such a rare talent and exercise it so consistently. My compliments to you and your very talented colleagues - a joy to see and hear.
I've listened to a number of trumpet renditions over time of this song and don't believe anyone comes close to Mark Upton's playing ability. Simply outstanding! I could listen to this over and over, and I certainly have.
Thank you!
@Matthew Halpin technically its a Fuglehorn ova sized Cornet
@@mrmyigai-dough4779 I should have included the Flugelhorn in my comment. His upper range is so controlled, which he certainly demonstrates on the Trumpet. There are a lot of screamers out there, but his control and purity of sound is is unmatched, certainly on this piece.
After 9 years have passed, but the immense talent you have is still intact with an ease with the instrument, but that must have required a lot of work to achieve such results.
And all without sheet music of course.... Congratulations. It's such a pleasure to listen to you in everything you do.
Thank you
Perfect idea playing flugel for this. Brill!

By the way, Mark do you play on a GR or what mouthpiece?
I now play exclusively on padovani mouthpieces. Mark upton signature!
@@markuptontrumpet What's that equivalent to say a bach size? By the way, You are a fantastic player!
@@Puceter Whats your email?
Awesome playing!!! Great orchestra and arrangements!!! Trumpet question: .why the cheek puffing? Seems like you play in some other videos without inflating your cheeks. Perhaps it helps with compression? 🤷🏾♂️🎺
Thank you king! The check puffing is the facial muscles resisting against the air during high compression. Thanks for the support.
What arrangment is this??? Sheet music????
This arrangement was written by Trev Naughton. It was taken from the James Last arrangement, played by Derek Watkins. It was arranged for the 2009 Mountbatten Festival of Music, at The Albert Hall, London.
