The other premiere clips edited in may be from an MGM talkie, as most of the stars seen are from MGM. Big Warner Brothers stars are also seen plus a few from Paramount studio, Fox & Radio Pictures.
Two MGM actors seen here would commit suicide. John Gilbert in '34, & Karl Dane in '32.
Producer James Cruze was married to actress Betty Compson.
I'm in my 40's and identified a handful of the stars. Thank you for taking the time to make your post for posterity!
@@dwsheffer Well, you are very welcome! Thanks for appreciating my contribution. I even identified a few that David Stenn didn't know!, Also did identifications on a second video but this has the best closeups. Glad you could name some of the stars too at your young age. !!
Freeman Lang was an extremely popular radio announcer in Los Angeles and Hollywood. He hosted many radio broadcasts if Hollywood movie premieres between 1925 and 1935. Lang also started station KRLO in 1927, which became KMPC on 710 in 1930. Lang also owned a Hollywood recording studio which made commercials and syndicated radio shows. Lang left Hollywood I'm the 1930s and spent the rest of his life in Hawaii.
The bald-headed radio announcer seen mostly in the first half, adjusting the microphone for the stars was Freeman Lang. He was a freelance radio announcer, emcee and radio engineer. He
The 3 women in the first few seconds are the Brox Sisters
Norman Shearer one of my favs.
Clara Bow the last one
Fabulous footage. Too bad the sound wasnt preserved. Would love to know what they are saying! Lol Love those big beautiful corsages!!✌️🖖😎❣️
I sat through the whole clip while playing Al Bowlly in the background. my, was it magical. felt like I was in a dream.
Especially if Al was singing "You Ought to Be in Pictures"
Norma Shearer looked terrific and so relaxed. ❤
Anita Page at 1:35, Clara Bow at 12:49
Add names. Wonderful to see but so many are long forgotten.
Oh my gosh! Poor Nils Asther! Kinda the male Peg Entwistle?
Thank you!
Louis Wolheim appears briefly at the 10:09 mark
Erich Von Stroheim threw a little kiss. That surprised me.
Oh please help me!!!!! Is the HUNK at 12:54 Ronald Colman????? What a man!!!!
6:38 Norma!
This would be sweet with a perky Cole Porter musical accompaniment.
The greatest song for this video is Al Bowlly singing "You Ought to be in Pictures"!!!!!
Need the names. I recognize some but not all. Karl Dane was one of them, right? I read he wound up selling hot dogs outside the MGM gate after the talkies began. I am not sure if he spoke English.

Some excellent footage but names are desperately needed. Helene Chadwick is not among the stars.

6:00 Moth photobomb?
Warner Baxter 7:48
IF Clara bow is the last one, then the list above should be in order. I would think, although there are three ladies in the first shot, and they only list one. *Shrug*
dommage j'aurai aimé avoir un nom correspondant aux personnes !
Need the names!
Norma 6:23
Yia yias generation.
