What an extremely interesting Atlantic Wall German WW2 fortress. Just imagine the time spent planning, designing, and building all of those structures and to have them still standing today. I did read the Germans paid the locals very well to help build the structures. Great catch EE spotting the tunnel system with the huge reservoir. Right you are HH, that was a massive gun position. There sure was a lot of passages. I would most likely get lost. Would have been something to see the gun encased in concrete. They did a phenominal job of integrating the terrain. Thank so much for all your hard work EE researching this historical site and sharing with us. Right you are EE, you touched history. Make sure you teach EE how to drive the camper van HH in case he needs to take off because you aren't keeping up. 🙂 Stay safe you two. 💕

One of the best stone-built sites you have presented over the years. The amount of stonework and quality is overwhelming. Love the first tunnel where they took a natural fissure and covered it with corrugated steel. It would be interesting to find out what has been hidden away within the mountain. HH, you need to hide the snacks better, to reduce EE's energy level, 😁. Thanks for finding this site, another master video. It is a shame the concreted the gun in-place. Stay safe and well both of you.

How strange to see the barrel of a gun sticking out of the concrete! Crazy! The whole thing reminds me of a castle because of all the stone work and the stairs going upward to walls. Wonderful location, and you're almost spoiled for spots to check out. And that fire & control "house" on top of the hill is amazing. It is incredible how well preserved the outside is, including the false windows and roof. I've never seen a bunker fitted out like that.
In reference to touching history, it is wild to think that you are often walking literally in the footsteps of countless soldiers from all those years ago, and sometimes seeing exactly the same sights as they might have (although many have grown over with vegetation, the views of the coast are often absolutely gorgeous.

What a fascinating fortress area. The amount of effort that was put in to create those running trenches, stairs, and defensive positions in the rocks is incredible. And from the way everything is just, almost unplanned, and going here, there and everywhere, this place must have been constantly being changed, and updated, throughout the occupation. There's obviously been a fair amount of work done after the war, sealing up entrances, and replacing doors, etc. Which I guess they may have done for safety reasons, but still a shame. But, seeing how they concreted up that casemate, with the gun barrel just sticking out. That was definitely a "What the?" moment. Would love to take a jack hammer to that concrete to see how much of the gun was still there! Seriously loved that Fire and Control Bunker. Obviously they figured that covering it with concrete and rock still wouldn't hide what it was, so they made it into a "house", with fake windows and all. Very impressive work on those windows too. Thank you both for bringing this amazing place to us, and thank you EE, for all your work on the "Touching History" tour. You certainly brought us to some incredible, and unique, pieces of History. Cheers to you both! Stay safe!

yes they totally overdid the " safety " thing there hence the concreting of the gun etc. So sad. The gun is fully in there actually. What a great place this is. Appreciate your great support and thanks my friend :)

What a fascinating place! All these positions and bunkers were extremely well planned out. I'm continuously impressed by the Germans. The way they made bunkers and the like were made to last and last they have. Too bad the tunnel was closed off and inaccessible. I hate that the encapsulated that gun in concrete, thats just sad. Take care and stay safe. 💖💯

Not so sad, one day these guns sealed in cement are probably going to be the only complete intact cannons; and some historian will likely chip it out and stick it in a museum one day. Otherwise it would end up like your last video with the gun base and the turret fallen off the pivot on the ground with the armour shield; rusting away.

With all the immigrant issues…and housing shortages in Europe…these old bunkers should be retrofitted to house them. Heck if i was back in Europe and wanted to get off the grid…i would live on one of these.
