    I always get stickers tips from the Jang's Reviews, he is the best for thinking on how to put them on the most efficiently then you can do as you think it is the best way to apply them. If the print was not on the roof I would not have put the yellow stickers to the car (even if I love to put them on, I use a clean brand new cutter blade to do an application), the most challenging car from the lot was the Porsche but I did managed to have the bare minimum gap between them and didn't applied the 3rd one on the front wheels, the one in the back in order to have 0 gap between the front and center one but some space between some others can't be fixed perfectly.
    Was also disappointed by the non centered back lights prints.
    I also think the SuperFast edition with a cleaner livery is sexier and even if I enjoy the Lego Competizione, I know I would have been happier with a SuperFast Version in Yellow !
    Yes Ferrari is notorious for been cocky with customers and even if that's what make them special to some, others simply hate the brand for that.

    I got the feeling that the person who designed this was trying to save on plastic or they didn’t care that much for structure, but luckily it was sturdy enough to play, but I recommend restructuring it for a young Lego fan so it doesn’t fall apart.

    Why the Competizione? Because its the current halo road car. Why the yellow stripe, because it's eye catching. Speed Champions often rely heavily upon stickers, that's a given. Personally I think the yellow is well judged and by placing the front two stickers butted-up to one another, so the red appears in front and behind only, the look is optimised.
    I think you're quite negative in your approach to this wave of sets. Unnecessarily so. They represent some of the most imaginative building techniques seen in such diminutive sets.

    • @svensbricks
      @svensbricks  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I hear you but with all due respect I’m only sharing my opinion, take it or leave it. I really don’t like sets that rely on stickers so heavily to complete the look and even if you place the stickers as you suggest it still leaves a red gap before the black section on the bonnet so in my opinion doesn’t resolve the issue. I absolutely loved the McLaren set and pointed out a tonne of things I love about both this set and the Pagani so not sure I share your view that I’m being unnecessarily negative either. All I can say is its a good thing we’re all entitled to our own opinions and we’re only discussing a plastic toy at the end of the day 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @wings9925
      @wings9925 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@svensbricks Indeed. Debate is good. Speed Champions rely more heavily upon stickers than most themes though, so I'm curious why your content mostly (if not exclusively?) relates to it.
      It's interesting that you felt you were generally positive about the Pagani, because my take-away from it was rather different. And having built it this evening I like it more 'in the flesh' than on the box art.
      Honest opinions shared by content producers are great: Carving a niche by being disproportionately negative is not, so much. I can't be sure that's your angle, but it makes me wonder.

    • @svensbricks
      @svensbricks  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@wings9925 we’ll probably need to agree to disagree here. I’ve made more SC themed videos because I love the theme. I don’t believe in just talking about the latest set for clicks unless I have something to say that’s not already been said and only if I feel I know something about the theme.
      In regards to the Pagani I loved everything about that model except the front end and in my opinion the front end is paramount being the most visible part of the car. It let the set down (for me) and will lead to it being dismantled and used for spare parts.
      I also didn’t feel the need to go through every amazing part of the set because there’s already loads of review videos out there gushing all over it because LEGO sent them the set for free ahead of release. If I’d talked about every building technique and clever angle in the model then I’d just be regurgitating content that’s already out there. My opinion may not be the most popular one, but it’s only an opinion at the end of the day.

    I don´t like when racing stripes are a combination of stickers and prints so you can´t choose to leave the stickers off. Maybe they should just throw in a couple of extra unprinted parts. But that would weaken their argument, that that highly specialized prints reduce the creative building opportunities when reusing the parts.

    • @svensbricks

      @@svensbricks Honestly, that side printing doesn't make that much of a difference to me. On the McLaren F1 I even find a lower waistline to be more accurate compared to the original.

  • @wallacewilder5817
    @wallacewilder5817 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    While the model is really accurate to the real thing I'm not a fan of the design of this car, about the stickers I really prefer them to prints since you are able to use the pieces in your own builds without being limited by the printed images, but yeah stickers do feel like a chore sometimes when you want to use for a specific set and there are a lot of small ones or they're placed in weird spots.

    00:33 The F50? Or the Testarossa? How about a 250GT California? TLG are equally reluctant at doing convertibles in the speed champions scale. Save for the McLaren Elva, but then it’s not really a convertible it just doesn’t have a roof, of any kind! 😂 My biggest issue with the Speed Champions line apart from them doing Ferrari after Ferrari or Porsche’s, is they haven’t tapped into what could be a really winning and high selling idea- film tie ins. I mean they’ve scratched the surface with James Bond and a couple of Fast and Furious sets but there’s so much out there that they could do, a lot of which they’ve already got the licensing for!
    I mean why not rerelease the Ghostbusters ecto 1 as a part of the Speed Champions line. I don’t think anybody would object to only getting one ghostbuster minifigure with it. They could even do the variants- ecto 1 from the original film, ecto 1 from the female remake (again they’ve already done this set but could be modified in line with SC line), ecto 1A from Ghostbusters II, the ecto 1 from the recent film that seems to forget that Ghostbusters II existed.
    Then you look at the new Jurassic Park 30th anniversary sets coming out. I think they’d have been better off doing the Ford Explorer and the Jeep Wrangler as Speed Champions sets.
    And they could do a whole load of other movie cars like that, such as the aforementioned Ferrari 250GT California being featured in Ferris Bueller’s day off. Or doing a Mini Cooper Speed Champions set based on the Italian Job or even just a regular Mini set based off of Mr Bean!

    Ok, but does it seat the figure with his hair piece? Another model i wouldn't give a second glance to in a kit or metal replica but as a build it could be fun. I got two of them because I thought the deeper plates could be used on other builds. This car is just "okay" looking in every way. The blaster exhausts are the only really creative aspect I can see. But if it can seat the fig with hair that would be a big plus.

    • @svensbricks
      @svensbricks  ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Couldn’t agree more. It’s Lego and it’s speed champions, so I’ll definitely buy at some point this year. However, it’s not exactly a special Ferrari. I think they’ll only do one iconic car per year. We had the Lambo last year and the McLaren this year. Would love an F50 as you say. One day surely! Out of all the new releases on 1 March, this is the only one I haven’t bought on day one as I was just a bet meh towards it. It’s one of those which I’ll pick up on some random day in my local Sainsburys when it has a few ££ off it.
