In the spirit of being both extremely cynical and optimismpilled: I think that, despite its underperformance as an individually profitable product, it fits into Warner Bros’ overall corporate vision too well for them to be readily willing to bring the axe down. I think it’s being saved (smartly or stupidly) by boardroom buzzword ideas like “brand synergy” that are allowing them to almost write it off as an ongoing markting expense. It’s like a loss-leader, a pseudo-investment. It’s not a direct moneymaker anymore; they’re looking at it as a piece of their portfolio-holistic, longer-term strategy to help maintain and/or increase the pop-culture relevance (and therefore value) of all the IPs they own. I’m not saying they would never shut it down. I just suspect the fact that it hasn’t _already_ been shut down strongly indicates that it’s internally viewed as a pretty entrenched project; it’s not going to get shut down unless/until an internal review team puts together a research report that indicates the game is not actually increasing the revenue of the included IPs. It’s almost as though, even in real life, the game now has shields. 😀
Now that Multiversus has shields, I'm hoping the devs will at least will make the the shielding and parry animations different for visual clarity. I also wonder if future characters will have unique shield break attacks instead of reusing one their already existing attacks like every character so far.
The characters that are getting the PlatFight skins are the same ones that had Batman/Joker T Shirts in Season 1 (probably so they can reuse the model with a T-Shirt)
I love Starfire, but i don't want her, at least not yet. She would probably play similar to Raven or existing characters. Id rather see a more varied pick after Raven. Marceline seems interesting
I love this game, but based on the numbers i cant imagine seeing a season 6. Unless they do something drastic like add a wild third party character like Goku, or maybe even just put out an actual advertising strategy, the numbers just keep dropping

Honestly, I really hope we get more beetlejuice stuff. He's one of my favorite characters to play as, but he's the only one of my five that only has his default taunt and the default skin (I know he does have more skins, but they're usually ones that I don't think are good enough to warrant paying fifteen to twenty dollars on). Ever since his release, beetlejuice hasn't really gotten anything compared to Jason and Jack, and I'd appreciate it if they did give him something in the new battle pass or something.
I liked his day of the dead skin, but those were all good and they only gave us one token for some monstrous reason. The real infuriating thing is how lame his taunts are, like I usually dodge or down attack at the end of the match over using his taunt. I really hope we get his cartoon outfit as one of his skins, it's not much different from his normal suit, but it's really nice
Starfire sounds like an okay addition but honestly, i want more cartoon characters. Dexter from Dexter's Lab, or Daffy Duck, or Cow and Chicken as a combined character.
I think we're more likely to get DeeDee or Monkey from Dexter's lab, since he's not really a fighter, and there's been a fair amount of backlash to the iron giant being giant so they're unlikely to put him in his mech suit anytime soon. But, yes, we could definitely do with more cartoon characters, and would love to see some cow and chicken, they could have cow stretch chicken out like a rubber band and launch him across the room as their neutral special.
If alts are a thing then maybe Starfire would be an alt of an existing character? Like maybe she's the Power Puff Girls but as one fighter, or maybe she's like Raven but with different specials, or something 6:40 I assume it's like how the Rowdyruff Boys come from Mojo's spaceship. Although I assume that this wheel would be censored in MultiVersus
Wonka and Mask would be the most fun to me, wonka has 3 obvious skins to pick from, even though he doesn't have a lot of obvious attacks, and mask has a lot of skins and attacks to choose from.

I don’t get all the hate for the game outside of micro transactions, like the shit is Fun, characters are coming out every month idk man, yeah the micro transactions & fighter road are pretty ass, but people are gonna give up on the game then shout it was “slept on” once they take it offline

As someone who was an absolute certified hater of multiversus during season one and two, I can say that the game is actually pretty fun. Now sure it may not be perfect, in fact, out of the big platform fighters, I'd say it's the most flawed one, but it's also the one that's just the easiest to pick up and play if you don't have a nintendo console. That being said, the microtransaction stuff is really bad, and if it was just about skins, then it's not really a big deal, but unlocking characters is still pretty annoying, even if it is better than it was, and I think that's a big thing that's pushing people away.
Honestly the biggest problem with the micro transaction is they lack clarity, back when we had fighter tokens a lot of people thought you had to pay them, and gleamium to unlock new characters. Then no one really knew what giving toast did so for a while players just weren't engaging with it, there's still a bit of a "tipping" argument going on around it, and they're way too easy to run out of wit FFA, but I think people have gotten better in general. That said 1,500 gleamium to unlock basic(love crazy) Harley is a bit much. Especially when you need to have gleamium left over for the next months battle pass so you can get more gleamium over all, and the free skins, taunts, and voice packs. It took more three seasons to get her unlocked, and it's probably going to take me another three to get what's opera doc Bugs. That said there are only two complaints that multiversus gets that I really give any credibility. Connectivity problems, which are getting better, but are still not that great for a game that really wants to push an always online play style. And then the other players, it's so fun to even lose at that game until you go up against a jack ass who is spamming the salt taunt, worse when they do it while I'm handing them their ass so I know they're just doing it to get a rise out of me. It works, and they can win that way, but it makes me want to quit the game.

I haven't tried shields but I really don't feel like that was the way to go. I really liked the uniqueness of multiversus and I feel it's just kind of lost the core of what it was. It's not like the beta anymore and it's nothing like when it fully released either. They keep changing things instead of fixing the main issues.

These devs honestly have zero idea what they are doing. They can't ever fix the game when they keep changing it so much. Balance is constantly ALL OVER the place and it gets worse with every patch. That's why people aren't playing. It's not because we are missing shields but because the devs are missing the point every time. They need to go back to their roots before it's too late. Quit trying to cater to everyone's complaints and just make the game they want to make. Every patch that comes out more and more people leave because instead of fixing what's broken or wrong with the game they just keep adding more and more problems changing the game completely causing what few players they have left to leave because it's no longer the game they love.

Ugh, that Jason skin challenge reminds me of that shitty SF5 Extra Battle mode. Spend currency to fight ridiculously hard CPU characters to get a skin, but you only had a limited amount of attempts.
Man it's a good thing i like Nasb n Rivals2 more than MVS atm, the only reason i have a bit of care for MVS cuz they have The Powerpuff Girls, n the amount of potential for characters i actually care more about than the majority Smash Bros's roster (mostly the 3rd party characters), but i just can't get over the how unnecessarily grindy MVS is n full AAA priced cosmetics

Good players who win walk off the end of the map on purpose to ither say sorry or gg (ussualy to people they smoke) People who stay on the map after usually means that your tough opponent, and that they want the challenge (ussualy after a close game) and then we have t baggers....and salt emoji users...think of the actions people do as body language
