The least expensive Japanese sedan in Singapore: Does the fascelifted Mitsubishi Attrage simply scrape the bottom of the barrel, or does it offer a more-than-bare-bones experience, and should you really buy one? Plus, find out how many Attrages you can buy with one Bugatti Veyron!
Note: When we filmed this, the Attrage was priced at around S$65-66k with COE, but after the second round of COE bidding in August the price increased to S$69k with COE. Which is why we keep saying 'S$65k' in the video and not 'S$70k' like the title says.

Great review! I live in Thailand and bought an Attrage in December 2017 and it's still going strong! It's a great little car and super-reliable, with great fuel economy. Although it's a basic car, it's like Mitsubishi took everything they've ever learned from making good cars and refined it into making a budget car that's ultra dependable. Also, Mitsubishi servicing is great value. The Attrage may be a 'grocer-getter' but it's a great grocery getter!

Nice Review, Its precise and I like the fact that you did list out all the top end features that a car can have these days but also kept the expectations low to the ground and compared those aspects which the car offers in this price point.

Thank you Anuj, glad you found it useful! We actually found the Attrage quite fascinating since it tells us a lot about benchmarks and expectations at this price point.

Mitsubishi now uses of what they called “Dynamic shield design” in the front end of their cars.

I am from Malaysia and i prefer my attrage compare to the cheaper perodua bezza and proton Saga. Yup its heavily tax in Malaysia that supposed to be similar priced. Attrage is a well design car, roomier than competition and the suspension is surprising good. My old timer mechanic commented its a vetu nice driving little car. Even my sister from USA, commented how good the attrage is.. surprising from the people spoilt for big CCs cars with plenty of features and noise damping material in the US cars. My sister drove an Accord in USA and it is a different class compare to Malaysian Accord with a lot of features being removed to save cost and the noise insulation is of poor quality.
I gave my attrage to my daughter. I got myself the new perodua Alza. Honestly i prefer Attrage as it sips fuel and i forgot many times to refuel 😅😅😅It seems to last forever on fuel. I wish they came out with a Station wagon version. If they had the wagon version i would not buy the Alza.

This actually looks decent and improved in terms of the front end look nowadays. The older one was horrible looking 😕.In India we have sub4 metre sedan segment which is dominated by Suzuki Dzire selling 10,000 units or more sometimes but there are others also like Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor etc . It would have been interesting to see this car in India if mitsubishi was still in India but I don't think indians would have bought it because they would just brand it as a Taxi or ola uber cab car & it would be successful as one. Because here in India we already have sub compact sedans which make 82hp to 100hp,are feature loaded, comfortable and practical as hell. I am glad Mitsubishi stopped manufacturing cars for indian market because we loved our lancers and Pajeros and we wouldn't have been able to see the Mitsubishi brand go down in drains . I don't know how this car sells in the 1st place in so many countries for so many years as a budget sedan because if it was here it would flop massively.

If the Vios is a lot more expensive, the Attrage will be a good choice. If the price difference isn't huge, the Toyota makes more sense!

      Perodua,
      -sub par brand
      - 2nd tier engine
      - does not exactly save a lot
      -interior trim pales in comparison
      - for amount saved not really worth and it’s a terrible brand recognition if opinions does not affect you driving a Perodua in singapore happy or not is gonna turn heads for the wrong reasons. Save a bit more get a better budget car.

The attrage win in terms of Roomier interior. Good suspension and handling. The Bezza is with cramp interior. I have an attrage and always take a Grab ride in Bezza. I even test drove Bezza. Actually Malaysia employed taxation to make attrage sell more expensive in Malaysia. I trust in Singapore. Bezza and Attrage is similar priced. The only let down in Attrage is the 3 cylinder strong vibrating engine. Mitsubishi have to solve the crank shaft to reduce vibration. Then its a winner.
