A couple of points: All 107026 cars (500SLC and 450 SLC 5.0) came with an aluminum trunk lid. If it is steel then it has been replaced. 2- the front spoiler was changes for the late 1980 M/Y. It was changed again in late 1985.

No, I don't think so, not when you ordered the spoiler delete, then the lid was steel.

@@slrroman So then all aluminum 107 trunk lids should either have or have remnant of having the spoiler- and that just is not true.
ALL 107026 CARS CAME WITH ALUMINUM REAR DECK LIDS AND BONNETS.
The 107046 (500SL) came with steel trunk lid. Every 107026 I have seen, about 12, has had an aluminum deck lid. I would like to see a Mercedes Benz order form that states otherwise.

@ I wasn’t there when they built them, but I’ve read other accounts on the web that when the car was ordered with the factory delete rear spoiler, the car got the regular steel trunk lid, and not the aluminum one. I think this is correct information. Happy to be proven right or wrong.
