I’m an advanced artist and still learned so much from this video! I’m doing a massive 5ft by 3ft painting right now and I’ve never painting wood texture that large before so this was super helpful. Thank you!
@@BMJArtthank you for making this video. I was trying to find a video that someone didnt use a wood grain tool and actually hand painted it because thats what im trying to do.
To those who are complaining about the speed : TH-cam allows you - Fast Forward with double tap on screen. - You can increase the play time within the option on right corner of the video. She made it live - so that we can see each step ,each stroke, each blend. ( Kudos for that & thank you) Appreciate do not demotivate!!
All of the colours are shown in the video what I use. And every time I reload the brush I show the colours I put on the brush. It is easy to follow if you watch the video from the start.
I think there were some places that you could have cut out or fast forward, because I don’t normally have time to watch a 25 minute video. But, I think you are a very gifted artist and I like this video.
Jones Danger thank you. You can always speed up the video by 2x. I wanted to make a full tutorial of how I paint. Sort of paint along :) Have a great day.
Amazing! Thank you so much for your time. You have amazing technique and your handling of the brush is phenomenal. I definitely subscribed. ☺️❤ Take care and keep up the good work!
Thank you for this video. I wish you would have listed the colors you were using during the process, but I got my piece to look better with this video than without.
Hello. Thank you for the lovely comment. Since it is a smaller surface I use smaller brushes. Flat is 6,round 4. But any size you have is ok,you just need to adjust to the size of your surface. For bigger I use 10 and 12 flat and a 8 round not bigger than that because it is harder to get thin lines, sometimes a liner brush is handy. Hope I helped a little.
Great inspiration! I tried to follow your steps, but fucked it a little up when it came to the slim yellow-white stripes. Though I managed to be quite happy with the result after repeating the steps again and again on the same canvas about 4 times :D Thanks a lot
Usually acrylics dry darker. So you have to have light background and when mixing colours always make a little lighter tone. I use gesso to prime my canvases. You can try it on cardboard to.
Ok, first off: This looks amazing, and thank you so much for sharing how to create a wooden texture like this. Then, I wanted to ask if the little white-ish bits are a result of a highlight from a light source (if this was in a full composition) or is it just a light part of the wood? Thank you!
Thank you for watching and glad I could help. White-ish parts are mostly from naples-yellow deep and white, thin lines, dry brushing. You can see me put in in 15:35
No matter what species of wood, I will be painting a cedar ceiling in a photo that has been varnished, would I start with the darkest color in the wood for the base color?
Hi. You said that you have varnished painting, not sure if paint will stick to the surface, you can try on a small piece and see. If you are working with acrylic paint, yes. Start from dark and go to light but again try first on a small part of the painting and see how paint will react. Also not sure, if you are going to varnish it again that the new layers of paint will not peal off the painting after some time, depending on what kind of varnish was used first, matt, glossy, in thick layer or with spray.
Acrylics do dry fast, but if you make your brush wet with water and take paint then they will dry slower. You have to paint wet on wet to get this look, and so you can blend colours easier. I do not use any medium, only watter.

I like how this video wasn't made faster and instead gives us time to do it while you are doing it as well instead of needing to pause the video.

I guess it's kind of off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream new series online?

I really like how you made the video slow for beginners but since I'm not a beginner all I had to do was speed up the video
Thank you. Glad you like it
I would sooo change the music on this video, but...that's just me. Other than that, good video.

You have to try couple of times to get it right, just practice 😊 Glad I gave you inspiration and to help
Amazing
Thank you 🥰
Is it gonna give the same look on cardboard? I've painted cardboards but they appear really dull and matte after the paint dries out.

Can you tell me what part of the video do you refer?

I'm thinking of painting paper to look like wood and then wrapping it around a pole to make it look like a beam
SomethinSweet I would like to see that. It sounds like a good idea. :)
Did you let the paint dry between applications? Or was a medium used.
Acrylics do dry fast, but if you make your brush wet with water and take paint then they will dry slower. You have to paint wet on wet to get this look, and so you can blend colours easier. I do not use any medium, only watter.
Song?
Hi. You can see who the performe is in the description 😊
You over done it made the color muddy, not woody.
Hello.. You can stop whenever you wish. That's what's art about. There's no wrong or right, but what feels good to you ☺️ Have a nice day
Make your video a little fast
It is made as paint along so you can paint while watching 😊
Draw iconic its good you actually get to see every part clearly. Those fast videos give me headaches.
Really great results but damn that music is annoying 😖
Glad you like it. You can always turn off the music 😊
