  • I'LL BE GLAD WHEN YOU'RE DEAD YOU RASCAL YOU (longest title ever) is a Fleischer Studios short film. It stars Betty Boop, and featuring Koko the Clown and Bimbo. The cartoon features music by and a special guest appearance from jazz trumpeter Louis Armstrong and his Orchestra playing "You Rascal You" which is where the title of the film comes from, written by Sam Theard in 1931.
Betty runs for the office of President against Mr. Nobody. Both candidates state their platform through song and dance.
The film was produced by Max Fleischer, directed by Dave Fleischer. Animation is by Willard Bowsky and Ralph Somerville. It stars Ann Little as Betty Boop and Billy Murray as Bimbo. It was released on November 25, 1932. The music is by Louis Armstrong and Orchestra.
This film is in the public domain meaning it has been identified as being free of known restrictions under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights. You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission. Corporations lobbied Congress to get U.S. copyright laws extended by 20 years, twice! Because of that, it allows published works to be under copyright for almost a century and corporations to squeeze every last ounce of profit from them even long after the profitability has past. It keeps people from enjoying art, which is the purpose of art.
