Julie is promoting her latest single that time which is Your Song....
the song doesn't require that much of power and belting. it's a love song, a piece that serenades someone you love. thus she wasn't belting whatsoever. don't you dare to compare Julie to Morisette coz that woman cannot evenly match Julie in terms of musicality. yes, mori has the range, but that is all that she has.

Base on their awards and how they handle professionalism, Julie is far better tham those two. You should search the background of the 3 singers first before saying that mori is better than the 2. You just heard their vocal range but not their musicality lol.

I guess it would be prudent to check first if a "new" singer is really new and if that "new" singer has a BIG fan base as well! I didn't mean to be rude but sometimes we, the fans of Julie Anne, have to come forward. Julie Anne, as I've said, does not compete with anybody but it is us, the fans, who feel that she is being treated unfairly. I hope you understand. As a keen observer, most of the songs performed by Julie Anne, was also covered by Morisette like when she did Superbass. Superbass was done by Julie when she was practically an adolescent teenager. It just garnered more 23+ million views in YT before it was taken down by the uploader. I know that in the industry, it is a competition but I don't find it respectful to be comparing singers, then downplaying/bashing one for the good of the other. I am not referring to you Uncle Momo but most of the fans of the other singers resort to that. In fact, I have already read 2 comments to this video to that effect. Sometimes one really has to go beyond the mentality of a fan to appreciate pure talent. Thank you.

*Julie is an artist who does not want to always impress her vocals to her audience, she's an artist who really want to slay emotion rather than impressing her audiences through her range, She is into pop/rnb but can slay different genre, can we just focus on artist's talent, especially on how they express the emotion of the song through its audiences, rather than focusing on the singer's range. There are many singers especially here in the Philippines, Name a belter filipina singer, and there would be a lot of choices, Mori, katrina, regine might be one of the top belters and Julie is also included to them, but name a Filipina singer that is very MULTI talented -- an instrumentalist, can do dance, rap, belt, compose song, arrange song, direct music video and so forth -- there would be a few choices and JULIE ANNE would be on the top list. let's not normalize that being a BELTER make you shine than other singers, because BEING AN EXPRESSIVE is far better than BEING AN IMPRESSIVE .... An Artist should Impress his/her audience through expressing the right emotion of the song*

However, even though she has a thousands views on her yt channel, her singles always placed on the top charts in spotify and itunes, and recently she had a digital billboard in Time sqaure, and only few artist had an opportunity of having a billboard on time square and Mori and Katrina does not have yet. Does belting really shows how good artist is? So arent country singers just like Taylor Swift before isnt good coz she didnt belt? Julie can belt but she's more fucos on different genre. Not all singers who performs on wishbus belt try to watch all the performances for you to see it yourself.

You need to assess her performance with reference to the song per se. Its a song that does not need belting. Singer performance is not about hitting high notes or overly flexing your technical skills in singing all the time. Music/Song is best appreciated when you listen with your heart not just with your ears.
You are right that you cannot do a comparison when this song is not a song for stretching your vocal chords to its limits. Maybe you can check out songs that both of them did a cover of. There are quite a few popular and challenging songs that Julie and Mori did cover (ex. Secret of Love, I'll Never Love Again, Never Enough).

Have you heard the original version of this song? According to Chito Miranda (lead singer) of Parokya ni Edgar, Julie Anne's revival version did it more beautiful so she's not playing it safe.

You know in the Philippines Julie Ann is far ahead in the music industry compared to Morissette but I can say that they are both amazing artist in the world as whole and also underrated in terms of levels compared to the westerners.

Watching this again, Sept 2024. Julie Ann is not in the league of Mori. She is way down there. Just a normal girl as ordinary Filipinos. No special talent at all. Just an ordinary one in PH. OVERRATED! You are right Uncle Momo,certainly!
