As a aircraft mechanic, 10 years ago, most of us in my hanger used the 12v Dewalt, till the shop bought 20 of the adjustable torque 12v Milwaukee screw guns. as you know shop tools get abused, you know - drill with one end and hammer a cleco out with the other end. We were all impressed and now most of us now use the Milwaukee M12 set up, 1/4 & 3/8 ratchets, drills, impacts, apex guns and screw guns and now looks like I will be getting a nibbler. Good review and demo
Hands up i need to give it to Milwaukee ,I never like them before, when they make the riven gun they absolutely destroyed Gesipas wich always sold for £450 here in UK for the half price the rivet gun is fantastic i use it every day. And now look what they came up with Nibbler with very reasonable price I can’t wait to buy this nibbler ,Thank you for the uploading.
I love Milwaukee m12 tools. It's a very compact and powerful platform. What I used to use in m18, I pretty much use m12 now daily. With the 6ah battery, I get just as much battery life as 5ah m18. Of coarse the m18 has more power for drilling, grinding, and sawing, they both have their purpose. Looking forward to getting this nibbler
I could see this being very useful in HVAC. I have a set of double cut shears that I use on 18 GA furnace cabinets, but they don't turn very well. That nibbler looks very nimble 😄. I think it would be just the ticket! Thank you for sharing Kyle!
Round and oval duct would be a breeze...
Be good for humidifier installs too, cause we all know sometimes there ain't room for even ya damn snips.
This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.

I have the Metabo, I admit I have not used it many times do to the "nibblets". Also I didn't realize you could change the head index (not sure if that will make much of a difference). I'm mostly a Dewalt guy but feel drawn to Milwaukee for some of there unique tools. Love using a nibbler vs snips for ease and quality of cut. Will definitely be getting the Milwaukee M12 nibbler. I have the makita. Thing is a beast. Havnt used any other brands since I dont have any other batteries except dewalt and makita. The Milwaukee does look alot more comfortable to use

You are very skilled using the aviation snips. Also using the nibbler. You make it look easy.
I worked with a plumber doing repair work on a gutter. I also cut sheets using a metabo cold cut saw running on rails.
Doing length cuts may be problematic using fencing as the material vibrates which really causes jaggedness.
The material really needs to be firm as much as possible. I also played with different saw blades for the thinner sheet material and found the blade that comes with the unit as good as the other blades with more teeth.
Cutting sheets which we call corrugated iron or the new term ( around 30 years ago) custom orb.
Making length cuts using a fence and circular cold cut saw, I set in sacrificial lengths crossways to firm the area where cutting and sitting on a board.
For those cuts I'm not yet satisfied of the method and will experience some cutting will not go as well as I hope and very very noisy.
I'm open to suggestion.
My plumber friend said he has makita nibblers and says they don't cut straight.
Mind you, I welded a frame and fastenned a sheets to the welded shs ( square hollow section steel) I cut the over hanging section using guide rail and cold cut saw. Since it was all very firm it cut like butter and very nice indeed.

I agree! I just got a email saying mine is being shipped out today. I work in metal cladding so heres hoping that its able to cut these z bars, would make it so much quicker to cut

Nobody would ever use snips where you’re supposed to use shears. Unless they were being unprofessional.
However, the nibbler is a great tool for spiral where a plasma cutter isn’t necessary and also great on Pittsburgh’s.
The only Milwaukee tool I currently own is the M12 Pop Rivetter & people who hadn't used one wished it was an M18.
Just like you've found with the nibbler, the pop rivetter runs all day on a single charge, it's compact, comfortable, & light so it's perfect for me as I have a nerve disorder which makes it difficult for me to hold onto anything longterm.

Ive always ran Makita tools. After seeing a couple horrible Makita cordless nailers, an M12 23ga pin nailer made it into my work trailer. Then an M12 Fuel Impact and drill. This nibbler is the one tool that I have been looking for but dont use enough to justify spending 4-600 bucks on. So looks like im fixing to preorder one!

Most of my tools are Dewalt but I've amassed a collection of M12 Milwaukee tools merely due to their unique ability. So much for brand loyalty lol but I do love this tool and intend to pre-order it. I’m not a pro but I’m building a 12x38 and man those nibblers sorely needed. Snips are good for cutting about 1-2 feet before your hands & forearm wears out. I may have to get one of these. Good info.
Been using the makita nibbler for around 2 years. Will definitely be looking at purchasing the Milwaukee nibbler
In the HVAC industry we call those little burr’s from your snips, “fish hooks”. Can’t wait to get my hands on one for my spiral jobs, and cutting metal roof decking, we usually use a reciprocating saw, and it’s a mess.

The timing of this video was perfect for me. Its not a super common tool for me but there is times when i really need 1. I literally just received a makita nibbler yesterday for a job on Monday. You basically confirmed all my thoughts about the m12 but that wasnt an option since its only preorder right now. I think i may just return my makita 1 after monday. The m12 one is also cheaper at retail price then the makita on sale. O and yea the first thing i noticed on the makita was that the whole body seemed really large and could maybe get uncomfortable. The m12 jus looked slimmer in the pics online. My only concern was possibly the power cuz of slimmer body but obviously 12v has come a long way and that makita was made a long time ago. Glad to see the m12 seems like a great tool

I second this. M12 is surprisingly strong. I ran my 3D laser 2,5 days straight from ONE M12 4.0 Ah battery.

Hey Kyle, can I have your nibbles? I just did an experiment to see if I could do a decorative stain on concrete with tannins from live oak sawdust and it worked! I got one of those nibblers thanks to this video. I nibbled up an old rusty 26 gauge steel roof panel just enough to get half a bag full of the little metal bits. I scrubbed the floor with the hot brown water I got from boiling the oak sawdust and while it was wet I sprinkled the steel nibbles on the floor. Then I kept spraying the floor whenever it dried. It made neat little black spots on the floor. But I need way more of the nibbles to do the rest of my shed. I can keep making my own, but if you are still saving yours and don’t know what to do with them, I’ll take them!
Hey Kyle, great video, I'm super excited to get the m12. One question I had is about cutting trim. I have the metabo, a coworker has the makita and just recently our company bought a Fein . We have a couple pieces of trim like our gable and gutters that have a rib in them that doest play nice with snips so it's nice to use the nibblers to cut them instead. The metabo doesnt have a large enough clearance to fit the hem on the ends in the cutting area while the makita and the Fein can cut right through. Have you had any issues with the m12 cutting through hems? We use both Wick and Chief for our buildings if that gives any context
the Metabo model you have is NIV 18 LTX 1.6 right? That model also have an optional bag to catch the "niblets" like Kyle showed the M12 model.
Good to hear the comparison between the Fein, Makita and Metabo models...never seen a nibbler comparison before.

I ordered one for my shop build . I’m just waiting for prices to come down on steel lumber and overhead doors . My foundation is ready and the floor is poured. It’s not a business or for my job so I can’t justify the high prices. Thanks for all the great videos! 👍
If you can't afford it now, you can't afford it then. Rising tide raises all boats, economy is the same way. Back in 2008 we had massive inflation too, paid crazy price for steel but had crazy income to afford it.

Just got a email saying my order is being shipped out to me. Just got the bare tool as a i dont know if the extension is going to have a real use but definitely excited for it. Kinda sucks that were already putting corrogated on this cladding job were on and were almost done the corrogated roofing panels part.
The rivet gun is awesome too
I will say watching this the Matabo was clearly slower than the other 2. it looks to me the makita was as fast, or probably a little faster. The Makita is also bigger, heavier and double the cost of the other 2. The ergonomics of the tool is still the most important consideration, and the Milwaukee does look like it would be more comfortable to operate.

Looks like a sturdy tool just recently bought the M12 Cut-off tool for cutting smaller metal pieces instead of pulling out a grinder

Lol. Exactly right about nibbler shavings. They are crescent moon shaped and will stick in the soles of any boot. Complete pain in the ass. The collection bag on that Milwaukee is worth it's weight in gold x 100.
