  • What would change if we shifted from the idea of original sin to original trauma? How might that shift our view of ourselves, of sin, and of salvation? And what does Christian mysticism have to do with it?

Something I've learned recently is Jews, at least some of them, have a different view of the Adam and Eve story. Who's right?

I don't think parts are sinful. My theory is that function of the parts breaking into pieces in order to protect itself is the result of original sin. This is why Adams first act was to protect his shame from God in the garden using clothing.

”Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them.“
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13‬:‭24‬
I'd love you to explain this verse.

There's authoritative, laissez faire and authoritarian discipline. Laissez faire is, "do whatever you want." Authoritarian is "You must do what I tell you to do or else." Authoritative is, "We have clear rules and boundaries and there are consequences for violating the rules. We will do our best, at the same time, to attend to your unique qualities, and respect you as best we can when providing such consequences.
It sounds like Proverbs is referring to authoritative, not authoritarian discipline.

There’s different ways we can interpret the ROD -- one of “ punishment “ based correction -- or as a GOOD Shepards rod that guides , course corrects from a place of tenderness and confidence in identity.

@@coreyryan9703 The Sheppard had a crook to guide. Do you really want to know what the rod was used for? I doubt you do.

@@EsseQuamVideriSe7endon’t worry I grew up in the fundamental realm of faith lol … I know the illustration of the rod and “ breaking the legs “ of the sheep . -- been just speaking from my own inner shift over the last few years that aligns to the HEART posture that I resonate with in the Lord - the aspects of His gentleness, humility that has led to more authentic and genuine INNER transformation.
I see the way Jesus dealt with his own disciples in their own errors and carnal “ behavior” - and I see that His posture always a saw them beyond their current understanding/ lens .
Jesus flipped the tables and drove out the RELIGIOUS system and rebuked the distortion of the Pharisees therein , yet even then .. I see that as a strong illustration of how He relates to the HUMAN TEMPLE , and the false territories of spiritual strongholds therein - “ flipping the script “ righteously angry at the LIES .. confronting the FRONT .
I’ve just started to see and resonate with a MASSIVE pivotal difference between a punishment paradigm ( human oriented) … including human FRAGMENTATION… selfish inconvenience , frustration etc - VS “ discipline “ that always flows from COMPLETE and perfect love ( fruit of the Spirit/ 1 Corinthians 13) -- discipline that SEES from WHOLENESS -- another words , disciple that calls UP and sees from the FINISHED WORK - conveying ESTEEM and confidence in who we REALLY are ( Beyond the temporal error )
I would say that the ENEMY is the “ punisher” in a sense and the demonic realm DOES convey that earth bound LENS of who God must be like … and therefor we can be vulnerable to open doors in our lives that leave us vulnerable to INTERPRET our lessons and trials as “ punishment” … due to where we’re IGNORANT of the greater agape love of God for us -- hence our SOUL ( mind , will , emotions) to be more attached and familiar with lesser images , distortion … hurting places where we might not YET be open to address and exchange in Spirit .. our true oneness and likeness to the Lord therein .
A lot of HUMAN terms of discipline automatically have lesser undertones and generational ties to PENAL system forms of punishment / correction … We often carry those lenses of the Lord and don’t even know it - We might not simply be to that place or openness to identify therein -- punishment is tied to fear , shame , rejection -- TRUE discipline is built and established on the root system of PURE , selfless love . Another words … imagine what godly discipline would look like if NO SOULISH emotions were attached to it .

@@EsseQuamVideriSe7en the Shepard's rod was used to corral & guide the sheep in the way they should go, was it not?
