Another huge benefit to BATTERY SWAPPING is it is the ONLY charging service in the world that will be able to handle a ROBO Taxi service or FSD where there is no human intervention when charging your battery. Currently there are millions of charging stations around the world from hundreds of companies that require a manual process of charging one’s car by physically inserting the charging cord into the car. ROBO taxi service will soon arrive and will only be able to work with Battery Swapping. Soon owners will be able to command their car to go get charged during the late evening with full FSD. I believe the first phase of FSD with no drivers will be late in the evening where charging will be approved with no drivers in the car. This can only be done with Battery Swapping. The owners are at home sleeping when their car is at the NIO Swapping Station and when they get up the next day their car is fully charged. To retrofit these millions of traditional chargers around the world will cost billions of dollars and many of these companies will simple go out of business. Tesla will also need to retrofit their charging stations to be compatible with a ROBO Taxi service. I am not sure how they will do it but it will be expensive…Keep your VIDEOS coming, they are great. Hello Mr. P. You hit the nail on the head!! That is by far the biggest thing to me is that ONVO owners will be stepping into a very mature swapping network. Also NIO'S charging infrastructure is second to none amongst other EV companies. NIO has 500kw & a bonkers 640kw ultra fast chargers that's just bonkers fast.. That 900v charging architecture combined with NIO'S ultra fast chargers will enable ONVO owners to have, by far the fastest power charging or swapping capabilities, unparalleled by any other manufacturers.. The model Y is toast in China when this model hits the market.. The specs IMO support my extremely bold claim.. Waiting for the US countermeasures on this one.. & make no mistake, they're coming..The writing is in very bold writing, on the wall right now...
People are so stupid. You degrade the battery faster by charging rather than swapping. That's the whole point of battery swap, because NIO can charge it in the most efficient way possible economically and physically..

@@bas7es There is a difference between fast charging and charging at swap stations. Fast charging is bad for the battery. NIO will charge slowly and at the cheapest times for electricity. You don't care about the condition of the battery. NIO will check and make sure the battery is in good condition.

I don't say this lightly, being fearful of swapping a battery in a car designed to swap batteries is completely dumb. NIO does a health check on every battery in the system, not having the swap station check is ignorance.

In this case NIO shall add the health batery information on the app eventualy, or a notification when u plan your swap... so that the person who swaps have the transparent info + the confidence in the swap in general.

People don’t understand paying a fee and what they get? I love the SWAP idea but I don’t understand the fees and can’t even figure it out from a lot of research. It shouldn’t be that hard and that’s probably turning off investors and customers!

Problem is that the swap stations don’t differentiate between the battery technology. The old 100kWh battery chargers way slower than the new ones.. This problem of course only affects the people that need to charge.

This is not about battery durability but about reducing charging time and sustainability by reusing batteries and lowering the cost of the EV if is not necessary to equip it with a single battery. We'll see if it works or not, for now it's just beginning and it's too early to judge.

If Onvo is successful, I fear Nio will not have sufficient infrastructure to provide the convenience of battery swap. I hope Nio partnerships will help address this possibility.

I like the idea of battery swap but the stations have to be crazy expensive, possibly all EV car brands compatible(unless individual brand stations) and have massive maintenance/security. It’s going to be awhile to know if this is the future in U.S.

If i understand correctly you can buy a NIO without the battery which makes it cheaper.Then you have to hire the battery on a monthly basis.Therefore why worry about the battery if it is new or old or degrading this is NIO responsibility ornamental I wrong
The total cost to own Nio’s are higher than BMW and Audi…the financials don’t add up. That’s why people in Europe don’t want to buy into swap. NIO leasing rates are also very high. The business case does not add up short or long term and to top it up the fleet owners only own the cars for 2-4 years and they need to pay more for NIO cars than BMW and Audi over that period and the risk is much lower…
Release the onvo and announce the major partnership for a jump to 10-15 by yrs end. I know sounds wishful thinking
This Swap Station non-sense should stop. NIO already has thousands of stations and the effect on demand is... what?? ZERO? And how useful these stations would be in a couple of years when Solid State batteries will become mainstream and charging will only take a couple of minutes?? I think it will take time for people to recognize the real value of Nio's battery swap technology and infra. From a current Tesla Model 3 driver's perspective, the charging speed will never be reduced drastically unless the full solid state battery comes out, and I really don't think it will be developed anytime soon. There's a huge difference between an electrical/mechanical engineer and a chemistry engineer. Chemical engineering is considered more difficult than mechanical engineering. Chemical engineers need to understand complex chemical reactions to develop batteries unlike other engineers. We can all see why it will take decades by looking back at our history. The AAA battery was developed in the 1950s and the rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries were developed in 1991. It has already been 30+ years and the charging speed hasn't really improved. Since other EV manufacturers just started adopting battery swap systems lately and it will resolve the range anxiety issue for people who are eventually switching from ICE vehicles to EVs. Once that happens, Nio will be the guidance and, hopefully, the stock price will be reflected.

That makes as much sense as saying because there more people in USA interested in electric vehicles 😂
But in the luxury market NIO has been successful but it’s not sufficient to become profitable. Their competitors in that space like BMW obviously have other markets, gasoline cars etc. So ONVO should be successful based on what we have seen with Xiomi, BYD etc. BUT we may be missing something….
The main reason of why Nio is not successful is because they, or specifically the CEO, kept on spending too much money in pet projects as the smart phone and Nio house. they will run out of money before they make any profit. Nio should have taken Li auto’s approach, lean and focus on good cars and profitable. Once the money is gone, no one will dare to prop it up, not even the CCP government. Onvo is just another gimmick and an arrow on Nio’s back. Nio could have just made an ET3 just as Tesla model 3, but instead they make an unknown Onvo brand that will waste billions just for marketing.
