Just don’t squeeze them. I should say this for all ages but especially babies. And don’t handle them to high up because if they fall they will get hurt. After all there ground dwelling geckos. Oh and make sure to always be ready to catch your gecko if it tries to run away they can be quite fast lol.

They are such awesome pets! I haven’t even had mine for a full year and already we have a great bond. She’s so friendly and genuinely seems to enjoy coming out to be handled. She’s a beautiful hypo tremper albino with a lovely carrot tail and she cost me under $30 (I have a shop that breeds them in house and I got to meet her parents and her sister. They do an amazing job with all their animals and really know their stuff.)

so sad :( i have visited quite a few reptile shops around the south of england and have been to this one :( some setups are cool, but the leos are lacking. there were bowls of undusted wax worms and mealworms left in there :(

I am in love with my leopard gecko! I have other reptiles (a corn snake, a crested gecko, and a blue tongue skink) i wasn’t sold on them as I thought oh everyone has one. But I found some that needed to be rescued and I had the all the necessary enclosure, enrichment, heating, so I thought why not!!?? I love her so much and can’t imagine life without her. Ah how strange, do you try to handle him regularly? Sometimes people will tell me they can't tame it but they'll only handle it once a week. Whereas I find best results come from holding them a little bit daily.

Hi... I'm from Portugal and I learned all about leopard geckos through your channel and some web research too, I have a female leopard gecko that looks just like your Gizmo. Her name is Kita and I bought her while she was 6 months old in last year December, she's now 81g and 23cm long and so bright and lovable with a big fat tail. HEYY! My Juvenile leopard gecko (that’s I got yesterday) has been sleeping for over 13 ish hours, and its almost 9pm and I put his worms and fresh water in this terrarium, but he just went back to sleep, is there something I should do?

Just want to say I've been watching your videos for a few years now, but it wasn't until recently that I got my first leopard gecko. (I raised three crested geckos, though.) If it weren't for your videos, I don't think I would've had the confidence to take in a rescue Leo and give him the best possible enclosure and setup. I did do other research, but I've always appreciated that you go above and beyond for your animals. I don't know why any true animal lover would want to settle for the bare minimum. My rescue came to me with swollen feet and sores from shedding problems, as well as a calcium deficiency. After a vet visit, I had to give him daily antibiotics and soaks. But all his sheds in my care have been absolutely perfect, and he's doing amazing now. 😊 (I'm in the US, but I managed to get him stocked up on Arcadia supplements, the Deep Heat Projector, and the Shadedweller. I think it's safe to say those really made a difference in his progress!)

Yes I can get a pet from a pet store.. Then what? I personally would never see myself getting a reptile of any sort. They just don’t really appeal to me and I don’t feel I’d be able to give them the proper care. However, I love watching your videos. :) I find them super interesting. You approach many different topics on reptile care, and I find myself knowing a lot about something I won’t have!
I love my skittles. I have had her since January. I learned she likes to listen to music. She would stay still until the song is finished and then moved. Since I have her she had shed 14 times.
I just love my Leopard Gecko Altair , he's my buddy and pal , he's a sub adult Striped Tremper and I've had him since July of this year , I bought him from a breeder at a reptile exspo , he's so fun and personality amazing , he's been in a state of brumation and only yesterday night came out to say hello , all I can say is I love my Leopard Gecko
In my experience, leopard geckos don’t intimidate people as much as most other reptiles. They see the smaller size and their rounded head and think that they’re adorable. It help with family members or friends who are afraid of reptiles.
I had a bearded dragon and he recently passed, i was very sad cause I loved him so much and I didn’t wanna just not have one but I decided I want to try more reptiles so I want to look at leopard geckos
My gecko is the opposite of yours she's always trying to run anywhere anytime she's insane She's also really fast which doesn't help when she runs under a wardrobe
If there's one piece of advice I could give to anyone considering getting a leopard gecko its THE TOES! When I bought my leo and her sister (my 1st ever lizard) from the pet store, I realized she's missing most of her toes and I was really confused. I thought that it was because she was kept in a shared enclosure, so the others have bitten at her feet like fish would, but soon I've realized she seems to have some issues with shedding her skin compared to other geckos, so after one more lost finger, now I know she has to have a warm foot bath every single time she sheds and I have to remove the pieces from her feet myself. I've read tons of articles on proper leo husbandry before I got them, but not a single one of them mentioned the possibility of the gecko losing fingers from stuck sheds ...
@@prostekai jasně, idk maybe I just might've missed that information... somehow... but whoever had been taking care of her before me, including the staff of the petstore (Palladium) mustve obviously "missed" that piece of info as well, among other stuff, e.g. they tried to sell me some calci-sand with them. So I dont think its harmful to throw this in the comments under similar type of videos
I think it can be something people look over. You definitely have to be patient and be careful when removing stuck shed, I imagine some people just cba to remove it :(
@@prostekai He's probably lucky then, but I would personally never risk that. I use the coconut brick substrate and I keep seeing my geckos digging in it, licking it, sometimes they eat a piece that got caught on the cockroaches' legs and whenever I'm cleaning their tank it seems it ehm.. just went right through undigested. Concerning the shop, Palladium is the huge shopping center close to Staroměstské nám. in Prague, I believe the store is part of the "Pet Center" chain, so one might think this would be one of their more representative stores, but... probably not. Anyway, sand seems to be still quite popular in CZ, whenever I check some of the online places people use for selling reptiles, I never fail to find a few pics of leos on sand. Or buy 2 get 1 free offers, those are almost as good..
Ive had my Larry the leopard gecko (haha) for a month now, and just comes out when he knows its feeding time, and doesnt let me handle him as much, he just keeps to himself, i hope he trusts me more down the road

My leopard gecko Lizzy lived for 17 years before dying of old age but he lived a good life and he was pretty good about being handled and he would close his eyes and lift up his head while being pet.Except one of the few times he actually bit (very hard to the point where I started bleeding) was when he was shedding and it was totally random since he was lying on my hand just a minute ago but then I realized that geckos are more irritable while shedding

I am in love with my leopard gecko! I have other reptiles (a corn snake, a crested gecko, and a blue tongue skink) i wasn’t sold on them as I thought oh everyone has one. But I found some that needed to be rescued and I had the all the necessary enclosure, enrichment, heating, so I thought why not!!?? I love her so much and can’t imagine life without her. Such great little pets

Ah how strange, do you try to handle him regularly? Sometimes people will tell me they can't tame it but they'll only handle it once a week. Whereas I find best results come from holding them a little bit daily.

Hi... I'm from Portugal and I learned all about leopard geckos through your channel and some web research too, I have a female leopard gecko that looks just like your Gizmo. Her name is Kita and I bought her while she was 6 months old in last year December, she's now 81g and 23cm long and so bright and lovable with a big fat tail.

I really agree when she said do as much research as possible. I know so many people who got pets because they were cute and exotic rather than considering the aspects first. It’s sad to think that so many are mistreated.
HEYY! My Juvenile leopard gecko (that’s I got yesterday) has been sleeping for over 13 ish hours, and its almost 9pm and I put his worms and fresh water in this terrarium, but he just went back to sleep, is there something I should do?

Just want to say I've been watching your videos for a few years now, but it wasn't until recently that I got my first leopard gecko. (I raised three crested geckos, though.) If it weren't for your videos, I don't think I would've had the confidence to take in a rescue Leo and give him the best possible enclosure and setup. I did do other research, but I've always appreciated that you go above and beyond for your animals. I don't know why any true animal lover would want to settle for the bare minimum.
My rescue came to me with swollen feet and sores from shedding problems, as well as a calcium deficiency. After a vet visit, I had to give him daily antibiotics and soaks. But all his sheds in my care have been absolutely perfect, and he's doing amazing now. 😊 (I'm in the US, but I managed to get him stocked up on Arcadia supplements, the Deep Heat Projector, and the Shadedweller. I think it's safe to say those really made a difference in his progress!)

A good pet owner isn't one where their pet barely survives in bad conditions and surely not one that says my pet doesn't need these stuff, he is perfectly fine. I am glad you did your previous video. I personally would never see myself getting a reptile of any sort. They just don’t really appeal to me and I don’t feel I’d be able to give them the proper care. However, I love watching your videos. :) I find them super interesting. You approach many different topics on reptile care, and I find myself knowing a lot about something I won’t have!

I love my skittles. I have had her since January. I learned she likes to listen to music. She would stay still until the song is finished and then moved. Since I have her she had shed 14 times.

In my experience, leopard geckos don’t intimidate people as much as most other reptiles. They see the smaller size and their rounded head and think that they’re adorable. It help with family members or friends who are afraid of reptiles.

I had a bearded dragon and he recently passed, i was very sad cause I loved him so much and I didn’t wanna just not have one but I decided I want to try more reptiles so I want to look at leopard geckos

My gecko is the opposite of yours she's always trying to run anywhere anytime she's insane
She's also really fast which doesn't help when she runs under a wardrobe
If there's one piece of advice I could give to anyone considering getting a leopard gecko its THE TOES! When I bought my leo and her sister (my 1st ever lizard) from the pet store, I realized she's missing most of her toes and I was really confused. I thought that it was because she was kept in a shared enclosure, so the others have bitten at her feet like fish would, but soon I've realized she seems to have some issues with shedding her skin compared to other geckos, so after one more lost finger, now I know she has to have a warm foot bath every single time she sheds and I have to remove the pieces from her feet myself. I've read tons of articles on proper leo husbandry before I got them, but not a single one of them mentioned the possibility of the gecko losing fingers from stuck sheds ...
@@prostekai jasně, idk maybe I just might've missed that information... somehow... but whoever had been taking care of her before me, including the staff of the petstore (Palladium) mustve obviously "missed" that piece of info as well, among other stuff, e.g. they tried to sell me some calci-sand with them. So I dont think its harmful to throw this in the comments under similar type of videos
I think it can be something people look over. You definitely have to be patient and be careful when removing stuck shed, I imagine some people just cba to remove it :(
@@prostekai He's probably lucky then, but I would personally never risk that. I use the coconut brick substrate and I keep seeing my geckos digging in it, licking it, sometimes they eat a piece that got caught on the cockroaches' legs and whenever I'm cleaning their tank it seems it ehm.. just went right through undigested. Concerning the shop, Palladium is the huge shopping center close to Staroměstské nám. in Prague, I believe the store is part of the "Pet Center" chain, so one might think this would be one of their more representative stores, but... probably not. Anyway, sand seems to be still quite popular in CZ, whenever I check some of the online places people use for selling reptiles, I never fail to find a few pics of leos on sand. Or buy 2 get 1 free offers, those are almost as good..

Ive had my Larry the leopard gecko (haha) for a month now, and just comes out when he knows its feeding time, and doesnt let me handle him as much, he just keeps to himself, i hope he trusts me more down the road

Not so much as scoop as carnival claw gently from the sides, and tend to put my thumb on his back when he is on my hand wanting to avoid him falling, i will try tonight to scoop him as you do and not put the thumb, thank you for all the videos you make

My leopard gecko Lizzy lived for 17 years before dying of old age but he lived a good life and he was pretty good about being handled and he would close his eyes and lift up his head while being pet.Except one of the few times he actually bit (very hard to the point where I started bleeding) was when he was shedding and it was totally random since he was lying on my hand just a minute ago but then I realized that geckos are more irritable while shedding
