In the world of Sweet Jazz City a lucky few are born with powers attached to their very souls known as "Epithets". An Epithet stems from a single word that can grant its user any kind of power. Words like "Fire", "Coupon"... or "Soup". A magical artifact known as the "Arsene Amulet" is rumored to be able to steal an epithet from a person, and they say it’s hidden somewhere in the Sweet Jazz Museum... Thieves burst down the doors in the middle of the night! Inscribed warriors do battle in the dark of the abandoned exhibits! Dinosaur bones come toppling to the floor! And a little girl named Molly is trapped in the middle of it all. Will her epithet, "Dumb" be enough to save her? Or will her epithet be... erased?

The beauty of Percy and Ramsey is that they are a reversal of the standard comic and straight man. You’d expect Ramsey to be the crazy one and Percy to give all the Deadpan reaction. Instead, Percy is nuts and Ramsey spends the whole two episodes with her just trying to hold onto sanity. I love it.
Exactly! It’s great too because the way they talk fits the stereotype. Percy’s voice is very deadpan but what she does isn’t for example and Ramsey is screaming all the time but actually super normal and confused by everything.

Theory: Everyone has an epithet, it’s just that the word ‘mundie’ is REALLY common.
I was just thinking that 4/5 people pretend that they don't have an epithet, either they don't think it's good enough, or like Howie and Ramsey they are trying to hide how much power they have or to be underestimated.
Another idea: Epithets can manifest themselves as talents, like dancing and singing, or as their more famous form in magical abilities, and most Mundies aren’t really Mundies at all. A way to test that would be to use a certain Arsene Amulet on a Mundy, but until such a thing is done, we won’t know for sure.

I'd like to point out that Giovanni said in an earlier episode that your stamina and health instantly recover after winning a fight, while Percy is still drained after defeating multiple Bonzai Blasters. My headcanon is that Giovanni's self confidence is powerful enough to where he literally heals himself when he wins.

To be fair, hers is probably one of the least terrifying when you stop to think about it. Ramsey has the ability to turn anything into a metal that is relatively easy to break, Giovanni has the power to summon boiling water at any given moment, and Molly has the ability to remove someone's sentience

Edit: To put things into perspective, Indus has a 5 in stamina, 3 in proficiency and a 1 in creativity.

From some reason, the whole feel of this arc of the show feels so different from the museum arc that it’s hard to even imagine Indus, or any of the first arc characters interacting with any of the second arc characters. And I also can’t figure out which arc I love more because they both have been so gooood.

I just realized this is just a series about a dnd session , with a dm that actually can build a story.
To be completely honest, these episodes/arcs were still kinda garbage, and the Epithet Erased adaptation is infinetly better than anything that was on the sessions.
Anime Campaign picks up for good on Episode 3, which would be the second arc of the next season, both in story and character dynamics.
I hope they make a season 2

In a way it’s quite telling of their type. Gio and some Blaster minions are frankly ‘too good for this world’ folk bizarrely being villains, Zora’s semi-consistent folksy code of honor is charming but both dangerously undependable and menacing, and the flat out rude Banzais are just entitled bullies or brats not worth much. Though kudos for making Bellybutton and Arnold such personalities.

Yeah, it’s an interesting development, not sure how they’d pay it off if the storyline continues. Giovanni’s a magnificent character, hard for me to imagine what a happy ending for him would be - he’s a lovable and surprisingly sweet guy, and surprisingly competent, but would get eaten alive by anyone cunning in his chosen field. Maybe lead a gang in a town small enough there’s no actual crime so it’s more like a weekend club of wannabe’s?
You know, the whole "ghost of my hat" thing sounds a little more sensible, if still insane, when you consider the bartender's hat was made from the skin of a raccoon.
