This song had me at, "Now, Dear children, pay attention. I am the voice from the pillow." If I had heard that sung by Till as a child, I would have never slept again.
Well my brother had fun letting me listen to this stuff as child ^^
Funnily i listened to Rammstein since i was a little german child and i slept very good :D
Idk if this is because we grew up with the old german fairytales that are far worse or because i saw till Lindemann as my dark guardian angel

It is just phenomenal art of Till. So dark, so deep, so touching. No riffs, no drums no fire... but as strong, or even stronger... !!!
Few singers have the voice and the presence to captivate the listener in such a stripped down version. You need massive talent as there is no place to hide. A masterpiece.
My favorite version of this song. He is sufficiently creepy and the piano is so strong. His voice is just so.

This was filmed at an abandoned psychology clinic in germany, and where he went down were stairs leading to a furnace where, during ww2, mentally ill people where burned, bringing a new meaning to the name of the song "mein herz brennt" (my heart burns)
It's also (supposedly) where Hitler recovered from being wounded at the Battle of the Somme during the First World War.
This song is about how darkness can fully control us to the point of us reaching the purest form of despair. Here, Till is a character so far gone even when they try to smile they scare others. Their lullaby is frightening not because they want it to be but because it's all they can do... and as people said this was an important hospital in WWII where they would treat people with tubercolusis and other heavy illnesses, even psychiatric ones -- but nazi didn't "heal' psychiatric patients, they would kill them.
Do with that information what you must, it's a haunting piece.

When I think of this piece, I think more of ETA HOFFMANN. He wrote such stories.

This song is based on the convicted serial killer Jack Unterweger. He became a famous author and celebrity after his release from prison. They thought he was reformed but he continued his killing. He wrote the story about the sandman and had a popular children’s show. True evil.
