A BETTER OrbitKey? - Jibbon Key Holder Review

  • The Jibbon Key is made by an Australian company out of Sydney (I love promoting local aussie products). They’ve made an almost identical competitor to the beloved OrbitKey.
    This review breaks down why it might be better than the OrbitKey.

    What do you guys think of the Jibbon Key Holder? Is it too similar to an Orbitkey?

    • @chrscap007
      @chrscap007 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not sure how they got away with it but I ordered from Jibbon. I had my eye on it and what sold me was the cleaner concept. Not only by the exterior metal screw that orbit has, but the fob key attachment doesn’t overlap the leather and there’s an all black version available. Can’t get any better than that.

      👌👌👌 absolutely and one of a few reasons I'm still using it over the orbitkey

    One of the best comparative videos i've ever watched. Detailed where it's needed and very clear presentation. Thank you, CJ Ying! I like that the Jibbon is less likely to scratch my phone/wallet, but i do prefer smaller size EDC. Size always matters. 😄

    The Jibbon is quite cool, because it is simple to use, and the position of the bolt is being held in place by the leather. Which means, it will definetly not get loose, as long as the leather flap is attached to it

    I have been daily using the same Orbit key since 2015. The silicon/rubberized one. Never an issue.. ever. Does have a patina from time and wear but still 100% functional and snug.

    Your presentation is the best…I’ve seen many. I’ve decided on the Jibbon - based partly on your review and partly on aesthetics. Hope it lasts. I’ve been using the Campbell Cole key holder for a year. It looks nice and unique, but doesn’t pack into a handbag or a pocket very neatly. To me, the Jibbon is not a rip-off of OrbitKey. Any new key organizer has to look somewhat similar to all the other key organizers on the market. The Jibbon, however, seems to improve on the OrbitKey in several ways.

    How has it held up? Could only find one long-term/1 year update review. And that guy said he didn't use it anymore, do to it becoming "loose" over time even with tightening..
    Also how has the leather held up?
    I like the "cognac" color, because the lighter colors should develop a nice visual patina, if it's good quality.
    So how is the leather after a year or more..?
    Looking to buy this over the orbit key, but only if it holds up over time.

    Wow great review and comparison! I had a question around the ease of the keys flipping up. I've noticed with a friend's orbit key their keys are almost stuck in the case and requires a lot of effort to lift them up. Is the Jibbon 'looser'? Or is your orbit key the same? (maybe my friend has it on too tight? haha)

    • @CJYing
      @CJYing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The great thing about the Jibbon is that the tension used to screw the keys together can be adjusted to as tight or as loose as you want it, vs the locked-in nature of the OrbitKey. So regardless, you should be able to find a happy medium re tension on the Jibbon.

    Hi CJ, thanks for your video bro! Q: Do you think it´s possible to recognize (ie. with a touch) each side of the keychain? I'm aware of the Jibbon´s minimalistic intention but the coin screw in the Orbitkey also serves as a mark to recognize the personal set up of the keys, wich in poor light conditions, for me at least, it's very functional. Cheers

    I would absolutely use a nail file in one of these! I have weak nails that get damaged edges all the time and I hate the feeling of it, plus when the sharp edges get caught on clothing and damage the fabric.

    • @maremike2691
      @maremike2691 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Not same, but having one on you at any time would be pretty handy. Sometimes, theres this annoying edge, from cutting that gets stuck on fabrics. And I only realise that I have one, when Im outside. When I get home, I forget about it, and get annoyed about it the next time I go out XD

    What about the durability of the leather with the D ring, I can imagine people pulling from the D ring when they're looking for their car/fob out of their pockets or bag.

    Great concept but unfortunately all of these holders are an absolute pain to operate with one hand which is one very important thing not stated or demonstrated in the video. It’s impossible to grab the correct key one handed when you’ve got another hand full. Normal key setups never have an issue jiggling to a correct key. I’d love to see a video, find a key in different positions and operating a lock using just one hand 😅.
