    I had an Orbitkey and switched to Jibbon... People don't talk about it, but if you put too much pressure on the edge of the metal studs at the end of the orbitkey (and its clones), there is enough leverage to snap the threaded part of the rod that holds the keys, leaving you with a pocket of loose keys and a broken organizer. With Jibbon's smaller stud and snap design, there is a built in release for that leverage that doesn't break the organizer.

    • @RonKwok
      @RonKwok  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the input! This leveraging and snapping of the post happened while the org was sitting in your pocket? That's wild, I hope they were able to replace that for you 🙌🏼

      @@RonKwok I actually had it happen twice, once when I stepped on an organizer, and once in my pocket. I've also had friends with the same experience.

    I have the Jibbon all black limited edition and love it. also Jibbon shows more lean minimalistic design - only leather on the outside. Would not like to go without it

      Nice!! Glad to hear it Juergen! Key organizers are very useful, aren't they? I'm still using my Jibbon Key daily and Orbitjey hasn't really come out with anything spectacular lately.. might have to rethink my stance on things haha

    • @RonKwok
      @RonKwok  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sorry you had a bad experience! I periodically inspect for tightness and to make sure keys don't go flying. Jibbon has an edge in that the key stack is independent of the strap, so in case the strap gets torn or comes loose, it won't affect the keys. Enjoy it man!

    Jibbon Key would be smoother in and out of the pocket also with no hardware post sticking out. I like.

  • @capofantasma97

    Had the Orbitkey Active also due to this video. The thing snapped in half at the bend part just over 2 years after owning it. Lots of reviews with the same failure lasting between 1 and 2 years. I didn't even put any particular strain on it, and I didn't use the metal ring that is used to hold car fobs (it should resist with that being pulled, yet it snaps in half on its own? Ridicolous).
    I am now looking for an alternative, but they're all videos like this with very superficial first impressions instead of everyday carry experience.

  • @BrazilAdventure

    Really great video, thanks. I just this minute cancelled my Orbitkey order and am now looking at the Jibbon after seeing it.
    Hoping you still have these two handy for a quick question. The profile - the height of the bar inc. studs etc - which is smaller? I’ll be using it for no more than two keys (for me it’s about protecting my pockets rather than organising). I’m looking for something as tiny and unobtrusive as possible. EDIT: What I was trying to say was if you were to try and get each one as small/short as possible on the end with the bar, which is smaller?
    Really hoping you can help me out with this. Thanks!

    Been rocking a orbit key rubber band version. It's been a improvement over the cheaper ones I bought. Was considering a leather orbit key variant but that other brand is looking promising. Just concerned over the d ring possibly falling off. Had my orbit key for over a year and it's holding up fine. Every now and then I occasionally re tighten the screw but nothing has fallen off

    • @RonKwok
      @RonKwok  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Awesome to hear! The d-ring won't fall off, it's super snug and the way it's designed there's no way it can slide off when the organizer is closed. The key loading system is a game changer, if you like the finish and materials, I definitely recommend it 👍

    How come your keys are all flat, do you need to redo them? My bike lock and mail locker keys have the annoying plastic bulky at the end so do any of those key organisers accommodate for that? Anw,, good review, I love the positive energy.

    • @RonKwok
      @RonKwok  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Glad you enjoyed the video, Bao! All the keys I use and most keys I encounter are indeed flat, and lay in the organizers quite nicely. For the awkward bigger keys like car keys and plastic bulky keys like the ones you've described, each organizer has a d-ring at the end to accommodate for that. Alternatively, if it fits, you can still slot the bulky keys into the main organizer also, it would just limit the number of keys you can fit in there, and the keys wouldn't lay super flat against one another (bc of the bulk). Hope this helps!

    I rarely see reviews for these types of items with round keys, bicycle-keys, the odd long key. And it is a shame cause it should not be an oversight.

    • @RonKwok
      @RonKwok  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Good point! The main reason you probably don't see it often is because they don't stack well, and these types of organizers work best when the keys are uniform and stack neatly. Usually with these types of keys, I'll attach them to the d-ring up top (i.e. my car fob) or if it's a simple key I'll try and make a copy on a flat blank so it stacks well. Hope this helps man and cheers!

    • @RonKwok
      @RonKwok  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Generally, yes it does shield your bag from your keys bc the key organizer is wider than the keys themselves; however, if you have longer keys and it sticks out, that'll come in contact with whatever bag or pocket you're carrying it in. Hope that helps!

    Hi Ron, thanks for your video bro! Q: Do you think it´s possible to recognize (ie. with a touch) each side of the keychain? I'm aware of the Jibbon´s minimalistic intention but the coin screw in the Orbitkey also serves as a mark to recognize the personal set up of the keys, wich in poor light conditions, for me at least, it's very functional. Cheers

    • @RonKwok
      @RonKwok  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is a really good point. The Orbitkey coin screw provides good tactile feedback to which side you're holding (i.e. if your house key is on the left side). If you intend to keep your car fob on the organizer hanging on the D-ring, I noticed that I often use that as a guide. If I'm holding the key fob with the buttons facing a certain way, there's only one way the organizer can dangle off the fob, so I can orient the keys without having to look. Cheers and LWP!

    Keyport is the best … the leather ones tend to bend and twist when you put the key in the lock and kinda use the bunch to turn the key … the leather twists out of shape after awhile.. keyport is the best and most sturdy in my point of view and you can adjust the tension better on the Keyport system

    • @RonKwok
      @RonKwok  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's an interesting take on key organization and you're right, depending on the wear and the thickness of the leather, it does torque when you go to turn the key after awhile. I'll look into it man!
